Chapter 14
I didn't get an ounce of sleep after practice, even though my body and mind craved it. As soon as I had started to fall asleep, a hoard of elephants burst into my room and jumped onto my bed.
"Wake up, Chris, it is party time!" someone exclaimed, jumping on my bed. "Let's go party!"
"Get offffff," I groaned, kicking whoever it was off the bed. I kept my eyes shut, not caring who I had kicked off of the bed. "Let me sleep." I clutched my pillow and huffed, trying to find a better place to sleep on my bed.
"Dude, get some cold water, and let's dump it on her."
"I'll dump it on you," I heard Ethan say to one of our teammates. "Let her have some sleep. If she does get some rest now, then she will be able to stay up late watching scary movies."
"Uh... no scary movies," I heard Eevie say. Fear was evident in her voice, and I could tell that she did not like it. "Last time that happened, I had to change.... things a lot. Chris just laughed and muttered stuff underneath her breath at stupid shit that the people were doing."
I huffed and sat up to see half the soccer team in my room, including Marcus and Cupcake. I knew that the rest of the group was in the movie room, eating a lot of food. "We could always just watch bad movies of all types," I said, glancing at Eevie, who was glaring at Ethan. "I mean, Cupcake would be happy if we saw his face more than needed." I flashed him a smirk, and he narrowed his eyes.
"Uh... why is she mean to newbie again?" one of the soccer players, Sheamus Griever, asked. He glanced at me and cleared his throat when he saw me looking at him. Most, if not all, were afraid of me. I think the main reason I had been in fights before and didn't care about being suspended.
"He almost ran me over with a fucking bike, and he keeps annoying me with his presence."
Drew smirked and tucked his hands into his leather jacket. "Well, just say the magic word, Sweet Cheeks, and I will leave you alone."
I blinked and pointed my finger at him, not knowing why he was back to "Sweet Cheeks." "Avada Kedavra," I said.
Eevie snorted when Drew looked at me, confusion written all over his face. She studied him and shook her head, almost as if she was pitying him. "What? Haven't seen Harry Potter?" she asked in a mock British accent.
"I take offense to that accent," one of our quieter team members said, his dialect coming out. Conall Smith was his name, and he had the same red hair as the Weasley kids. "You can't even do the accent right."
"Shut up, Weasley," Eevie snapped. "I can do it when I want to." She stuck her hip out and raised an eyebrow. Out of all my teammates, Eevie hated Conall the most, and I think it might be because she has a thing for him, but... he didn't like... girls.
"Stop with the eyebrows," Ethan groaned, running a hand over his face. He scowled when I raised my eyebrow at him, narrowing his eyes. "Why don't we watch the Harry Potter movies and not argue as to what to watch?"
"I don't want to see it," Drew said.
"Of course not," I muttered, standing up and putting a bow in my hair again. "Sorry, my house, my rules. We are having a Harry Potter Marathon. Don't like it, suck it up." I smirked. "Or you can leave. I don't really care."
"And this is why we don't get on her bad side," Ethan said. He shook his head when I gave him a smug look, a smile on his face. He knew that he couldn't change me, but he was glad that he had a friend that would stand up for him and his family.
I shrugged, not say a word. He was right; he did not want to get on my bad side. I was more than capable of beating his ass and his father if he and his mother would allow me.
"Come on, let's go watch these stupid Harry Potter movies," Conall said. "Is there food?"
I gave him a look as if he was stupid. "I guess we have to go to the movie room and find out, now don't we?" I asked, starting to walk in that direction. "Or you can push one of the buttons on my bedroom wall and ask Wally."
"I still forget that you are bloody rich," another member of my team said, mocking Conall's accent.
"Shut up, Stewart," Conall hissed, pushing him away. "Or else, I will make stupid jokes about you."
I huffed and rubbed the bridge of my nose as a headache appeared out of nowhere. "Idiots, I tell you," I muttered to myself. "I am surrounded by bloody idiots."
A couple of arms wrapped themselves around me, and I was pulled into a hug. "Awww, but you love us," Eevie and Ethan said in unison.
I grumbled something under my breath and didn't say a word after that. I knew that I did love them because they were like my family. They were the people that I turned to when I was down. And I was grateful to have them. I was grateful to be in a place where I felt like I belonged even though most of them were, in fact, idiots.
