Chapter 2

"I'm home!" I called out to the empty house, knowing full well that my parents weren't home.

"Welcome home, Miss Willis," someone said, causing me to jump up and turn towards the area where the person had spoken.

Wallace, Wally as I liked to call him, smirked a little before letting his face fall back into his normal mask of not showing emotion. "You are late," he said, looking at his pocket watch before placing it back into his pocket. "You should've been back ten minutes ago."

I rolled my eyes and grabbed the water that I had left on the front table before chugging it. I sighed in relief when I felt better and closed the bottle back up. "I was almost run over by an asshole who didn't know how to stop," I explained. "That is why I am late."

Worry filled his eyes while he looked me up and down, making sure that I was alright and had no scratches over my body. Relief took away the worry when he didn't see anything wrong with me.

"I am fine," I consoled. "I didn't get hit. I almost did punch the guy that almost ran me over."

Wally smirked, and I could feel the pride he had for me. "Just make sure that no one can see the bruising," he said. "I do not think that Mitch would like it if you got into trouble with fighting again."

I rolled my eyes at the mention of my trainer and him being pissed with me for fighting outside the ring. "The worst thing he'll do is make me wear a 100lb vest and 25lb ankle weights and make me run the junkyard course," I replied. "Now, I am going to take my shower and then see what goodies Maybell had made for me."

Wally nodded his head. "Ethan is in your room," he said. "He's probably spending the night."

I nodded my head, frowning. I was worried as to what had happened at his house to come to mine, probably figuring that his parents were fighting again. "I'll see what happened," I said. I bit back a huff and moved a hand through my hair. "Later, Wally," I called before running up to my room.

"Your parents are coming home for the weekend. Make sure that your room is cleaned!" Wally called after me, causing me to groan out in annoyance. "I will make sure to have your room stocked up with food for the weekend," he yelled.

"Thanks, Wally!"

I looked at the sleeping male in my bed, wanting to wake him up and not wanting to wake him up. He looked so peaceful with his curly brown hair on top of my pillow and cuddling my Panda Bear, Mr. Panda.

I bit back a snort of laughter with his little snore and decided to just take my shower. Silently, I grabbed some short shorts, a sports bra, and underwear before moving to my bathroom to take a quick shower.

After my quick shower, I walked out of the bedroom to see Ethan still asleep while drying my hair with a towel. A smirk appeared on my lips before I jumped onto the sleeping male.

Ethan groaned out in annoyance and moved us to the side so that both of us were laying on the bed. He opened one eye to stare at me with his baby blue eye and blinked, lazily.

"Mornin'," I teased, causing him to glare at me. "Why are you asleep in my bed with Mr. Panda?" I raised an eyebrow causing him to huff.

He placed his finger on my eyebrow and pushed it down. Ethan usually did that because he wasn't able to raise his eyebrow as I could. "Stop with the eyebrow," he muttered, his voice husky with sleep. "It'll freeze like that."

I rolled my eyes and nudged him. "Shush," I scolded. "Now, why are you sleeping in my bed?"

Ethan sighed and turned to be on his back. He stayed silent, which was a bad sign from my talkative friend. "They were fighting again," he said, his voice cracking. "Dad almost hit Mom, but hit me instead when I stepped in front of her."

I turned towards him and pulled him into a hug. I rubbed his back while he tried to hold back his tears.

Deep hatred and loathing filled my body for his father because he hurt my best friend, and I wasn't going to stand for it.
