Chapter 4
We drove to the mall, and I was getting annoyed with Ethan's constant complaining. He kept on complaining about how much he hated my parents, how much he hated his parents, and how much he didn't want to go to this stupid dinner, even though I was being forced into going. "I mean, why do I have to go?" he asked for the umpteenth time. "Your parents hate me."
"Would you shut up?!" I snapped, causing him to close his mouth mid complaint. "I know that they hate you. Hell, they hate me too. Why the fuck do you think I go to a-a fucking public school and not a fucking boarding school my sister? I mean, come on, just because I was born when they didn't want me to, doesn't mean that I am a fucking bastard child!" I screeched and shook in the car before laying my head on the steering wheel, careful of the horn. "Like fucking hell. I'm not one with the sucky pull out game," I mumbled
Ethan sighed and patted my arm. He squeezed my arm a bit, trying to take away the anger that I was feeling. "I'm sorry," he said, softly. He rubbed my arm up and down, trying to bring some comfort, even though he wasn't the best person to get comfort from. "Will we need to go to Mitch later tonight so you can bust open some heads?"
I nodded my head. "Un-huh," I said, closing my eyes. A small smile appeared on my face as I thought about beating some people up and taking out my anger on them. "It will be fun."
Ethan patted me on the shoulder and smiled. "Just think, you will be able to scare people more than you scare me."
I snorted and shook my head. "I scare you a lot more than I scare others," I replied, causing him to quickly shake his head, no. "Do too. Now, come on, I want to get this painful shopping done and out of the way."
"Will we get new Converse?" Ethan asked, opening the door to the passenger side. "I don't want to wear nice dress shoes."
"I was needing a new pair of Converse anyways," I said, opening the driver's side of the door and getting out. "I think I can spare some extra cash on you to get them." I sent him a smirk, causing him to shove me when we started to walk towards the mall. I couldn't help but laugh, like the feeling of him calming me down. Unfortunately, I was still pissed.

"Why the hell is the mall crowded?" I asked Ethan, shoving through some people to go to the only men's wear store that my father approved of men shopping at. "I mean, it's not even Christmas."
"I don't know," Ethan said, keeping a hand on my arm, so he wouldn't lose me in this crowd. "Are there any big sales going on?"
"Not that I know of," I replied. "Watch where you are jabbing that elbow," I snapped at an older male who was trying to shove his way through the crowd with a camera. I made it upfront to see that the doors were closed and two security guards were standing in front of the entrance.
"Sorry, no one can go through here at the moment," one of them said, while the other one studied me.
I groaned and rubbed the bridge of my nose. My irritation level was to the roof, and I knew that at any minute, I would be snapping at anyone or anything in my way. "For the love of all that is holy," I muttered. "Can this day get any worse?"
"I think you jinxed it, Chris," Ethan said, earning an elbow to the ribs. He grunted out in pain and muttered something about bitches.
"Now, why is this place closed?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "I have to get him an outfit from here because my dad doesn't accept outfits from anywhere else."
He looked me up and down, and I couldn't help but tense by the criticizing gaze he was giving me. "Sorry, Sweetheart, but I think that these outfits are way out of your price range."
"Christina Prescott," the second security guard said, finally, shaking his head. "Still alive and fighting, I see?"
I furrowed my brows together while I looked at the second male. A small, tired smile appeared on my face when I saw one of the fighters that I fight with on a normal basis standing in front of me. It was so normal, that he knew my parent's last names and what they were about. "Chuckie Grimmes," I said, finally. "You haven't changed a bit."
