☠EDITED☠

My new book!

This will be shitty at first, because well, it's the first chapter.

Hayden's POV:

"Hayden!" I hear my mom's voice as it echoes into my room.

I roll over and throw my blanket over my head, pretending I never heard her. Knowing what will happen next, I brace myself as the footsteps grow louder and louder.

"Hayden, I'm not an idiot. I know you aren't asleep. Get your butt up for school." My mom demands.

I throw the blankets off, pouting. "Dang, I was hoping you'd actually fall for it."

She shakes her head, laughing. "Not today. It's your first day, you can't be late."

"Yeah, yeah." I wave her off. This is the day I have been dreading for.

Senior year. New school. No friends.

"Mom, can't you just not send me to school? It is in the middle of the school year."

"No." I huff as I drag myself out of bed, walking to my closet. "Coffee?" My mom asks as she walks out.

"Yes, please." I call out.

First day of school was always the worst. Especially when you didn't know who anyone was.

I quickly pull on my outfit and hurry up with the rest of what needs to be done.
Grabbing my bag, I put my things in it quickly and grab my phone before hurrying down the stairs.

As I step foot in the kitchen, my mom looks at my weird. "What are you wearing? Go change. You have money, Hayden. Flaunt it."

"I'll dress how I please." I say, sitting down next to my brother, Evan.

Evan smiles, "I think you look beautiful, Denny."

I roll my eyes but smile at my brother. Denny was a stupid nickname that he gave me when I was little. I hated it, but it made him happy, so I let it slide.

My mom passes me my cup of coffee, giving me a look of disapproval before turning away.

We were rich, and my mom wanted people to know. But Evan and I didn't. We wanted to be liked for ourselves, not our wealth.

I look at the time, "I've got to go."

As I stand up, Evan does too. He hugs me and kisses me on the cheek before ruffling my hair. "Have fun, beautiful."

"I'll try." I say, before forcing myself to walk out the door.

*At School*

I pull up to the school and get out of my car.

I wasn't ready for this, honestly.

I lock my car door before taking a deep breath and walking to the front doors. As I walk up, I can't help but stare at the people who attend this school. A lot were the typical, cliché popular girls and boys.

They all stare me down as I walk past them. I look around some more to see a boy standing alone by the doors. Usually I would look away and keep walking, but something about him was different then all the other people I've seen.

He sees me staring and a smirk finds his lips; the first thing I notice are his eyes, how bright and vibrant they appear to be.

My eyes widen and I can't help but blush. He raises an eyebrow playfully as I near the doors where he stands. I look away, flushed. My eyes meet his again as I pull the doors open.

The rest of the day his eyes seem to haunt me.

*At Home*

I rub my eyes tiredly as I step through my door. The first thing I'm greeted by is a bone-crushing hug from Evan.

"How was the first day of school?"

I shrug as he let's go, "It was okay, I guess."

My first thought was the boy when he mentioned school. "It was just 'okay'? Baby sister, it was the first day of your senior year at a new school!" He gushes, "You're growing up too fast!"

I chuckle, "Okay, it was pretty good."

He grins, "How about I make you my famous spaghetti?"

I cringe, "Sorry to break it to you, but the only thing your 'famous spaghetti' is famous for is how bad it is."

His smile turns to a pout, and guilt washes over me. "But, I'll eat it for you."

"Oh my god, really?"

"Really." I agree, my heart warming up as his smile grows.

"How about after dinner we watch a movie?" He asks.

"Sounds good. Where's mom?"

"Work." He frowns.

"Oh." My mom was always gone. Always at work or with her boyfriend. The only time I ever saw her was in the morning for about twenty minutes.

Evan nudges me, noticing my disappointment. "Hey, it's okay. It can be a Evan and Hayden day."

My smile returns, "It has to be a Hayden and Evan day."

He rolls his eyes, "Whatever makes my baby sister happy."

That was the first chapter of my new story, Blessing.

I am honestly so excited to write this!
