Finals
Typing till our fingers cramp,
Reading till our eyes ache,
Staying up until dawn breaks,
This is finals.
Emailing professors for clarification,
Asking them for extra credit,
Wondering if we're ever gonna get it,
This is finals.
Stress consuming our minds,
Considering therapy from time to time,
Watching Netflix or eating all the time,
This is finals.
Researching for hours on end,
Back aching from all the bends,
Making sure the format is perfect before hitting "send,"
This is finals.
Weeks later, the grades come in
After checking every hour over the holiday break.
You either feel satisfied or terrified
Of what your parents will say.
But in the end,
You did your best
Or as close as you could get.
And then the spring semester comes again.
Finals, man.
Finals.
