Chapter 2
"So she's, deaf, and blind?!" George stared at the Nurse, wondering, What?! What am I supposed to do?! "I'm sorry, George. But I can't do anything about it! Ze's problems are permanent!" The Nurse could try to defend herself, but everything she tried, wouldn't work. George even blamed Mona for the situation.
"Mona! Why would you let her go in the jungle?!" He hadn't yelled at his wife at all, until this day. Mona gasped at the yelling, covering up Ze's working ear so she couldn't hear the hurtful words and awfully rude yelling.

"So, you can't hear me, if I do this?" Mona quietly asked the poor child, pulling down her left Kat ear. Ze was scared, she didn't like that she couldn't hear, but nodded. Mona took her hand off Ze's ear, and let it quickly flop back up. She sighed, now Ze was really special. Ze wished she was just a normal child, she hated her life.
"I'm gonna, gonna go to my hut, Ma'am." Ze whispered to her adopted mother. Mona understood, and pointed to her hut, knowing she was old enough to walk on her own. Ze felt threatened, and gave a terrible response, "I know where my hut is! Don't act like I'm an idiot!" Ze ran to her hut, slamming the door as soon as she was in.
"Why am I living with a bunch of morons!" Ze sat on the wooden floor, she leaned against the wall, her eyes teary. "A-All I wanted was a no-normal life!" Ze wrapped her arms around her body, crying hardly. Her salty tears were leaving skinny trails of water down her face and cheeks.
Ze hated the her whiney cries, she hated the noise of her hiccing. She just wanted it all to stop! But she couldn't.. Ze looked at the tear puddle under her face, two or three drops of blood were spotted in the nearly transparent mirror. She looked back up and crawled on her knees over to her window. She rested her hands on the window seal, and pressed her nose against it.
The sun was setting down upon the beautiful sandy lane, kissing away colors of a bright, burning yellow and swaying bubbly pink. It was peaceful. Ze hadn't felt such a feeling before, her body felt relaxed as she watched the blocky blinding sun fall under the horizon, giving room for the small silver glowing moon. Ze sighed and lay her head on her arms, which were folded on the seal.
Ze was barely drifting off to sleep, when a terrible, horrifying knock was followed by a deep growl. Her eyes shut open, and she stared at the window of her door. A green figure with black sockets for eyes was banging on the door...
Her home was being invaded by the night creatures...
