-Chapter Twenty Five-
Lightning flashed and the rain seemed pour even harder against Van Helsing's shoulders as he was thrown off his horse and it rushed off freaked. Van Helsing cried out hitting the ground able to snag the edge.
"Van Helsing!", called Snyder.
"Worry about yourself boy!", shouted Van Helsing feeling his grip slip. His feet couldn't catch any rocks or edges. They just crumbled or slipped. Viviane stood staring down at him with her worry-less eyes through the rain.
"Van Helsing!", yelled Synder. But his horse began to back up turning as the two parents or former parents snarled and gargled making odd sounds. They hunched and the horse backed up farther. Penelope was shaking.
"Bloody hell Reverend get here!", shrieked Hezelwiggins.
"We haven't seen her in six days!" shouted Snyder.
"Gahhh!!!", slurred the male launching forward. The horse reared up defensively hitting him as he came down. Penelope screamed sobbing.
"Synder get out of here!", shouted Van Helsing not able to see. He could only hear what was going on. Not mention the rain was wearing him down and aching.
There was more screaming and shouting and snarls. "Synder!", yelled Van Helsing.
"I would worry more about yourself", said Viviane staring at Van Helsing. He flinched releasing upon instinct as a bolt struck down shattering the ledge. Van Helsing went down towards the roaring water the rocks barreling behind him and into the frozen waste.
Viviane stared at the splash and sighed, "Might as well finish--!!!",
Viviane felt a nail scratch her cheek as lightning barreled down smiting whatever it had been. She landed staring through the rain. She felt her cheek. She....she was bleeding?
Reverend stood huffing, Her hand burnt and disintegrated. The bone already black and unclean. "You....you're the one", said Viviane.
Reverend looked at her hand the bone crunching and popping as she curled her fingers together. "The one my father wants to meet", said Viviane.
"Let me guess....the baby daughter disapproves", said Reverend.
"Why you-?!",
Reverend snagged her hair "You're going to get hit by lightning until you release me!", snarled Viviane. It was true. Reverend was struck again her arm igniting and skin crippling away up to her shoulder. But she didn't release that quickly narrowly hit again as she spun and flung Viviane across and down slamming her against the rock wall missed by a third bolt.
"Reverend!", called Snyder through the rain holding Penelope.
"Get out of the rain now!", yelled Reverend before tossing her coat and hat away.
"You intend to go bloody swimming! You're mad!", yelled Hezelwiggins seeing this.
Reverend burst forward sprinting along the edge looking down. Where? Where? Where!? Her sight soared through the water looking for heat signatures. Her nose desperately trying to catch a cent through all this wet rain that was washing it away. She couldn't find him. Was he farther down river? Reverend snapped seeing a faint orange in the water and lept down the bats breaking from her and scattering inside swarming she reached snagging Van Helsing before the current could get him down. The water was already forcing them down river.
Reverend snapped her head back feeling the water heat up and saw bits of lightning sore towards them. That Viviane would get what she wanted.
Reverend pulled Van Helsing towards her chest and dispersed in the nick of time her vision going dark.
Snyder was riding through the rain along the edge staring and trying to catch a glimpse of anything. Trying to see anything! Or at least something! Hezelwiggins was panicking in his pouch and getting nervous beyond reason.
'Oh...oh...oh...please!-'
"There!" shouted Hezelwiggins as Reverend crawled out onto the other side onto a jagged stone bank.
"Oh....you're alive", said Viviane. Her head was bleeding but she still was no different in her odd personality.
"You stay away from Reverend you measly vampire if you know what's good for you!", screeched Hezelwiggins at the top of his lungs.
"Seems you have friends", said Viviane.
"You are.....impressive....but you'll never be me", said Viviane.
Reverend heaved suddenly several repetitive times. This time Viviane's features darkened and she frowned. What was this? Why was she suddenly angered?
"What?", she hissed.
Reverend was laughing. It didn't really sound like a laugh due to her ruined body. The entire left side and chunks were missing and burnt sticking together. Her bones exposed. She looked more or less like a walking skeleton now.
Reverend looked up smirking her jaw bone and teeth showing and eye half ruined. "You think I want to be like you? Where did you get that sarcastic idea?Pft!", Reverend scoffed.
"Be you?! Ha!", laughed Reverend.
Viviane knelt down staring at Reverend about to snag her but Reverend was quicker using Viviane as support. Her breath icy. "Why would I want to be a lowly noble like you...? When I'm already so much more than you could ever be", said Reverend.
Viviane shook violently as Reverend slammed down her teeth crushing the spine and throat. Reverend's fingers clenched tighter and tighter breaking organs and bones as Viviane was sucked dry to nothing but a straw stiffened and mummified corpse that clattered between the rocks.
"Reverend!", called Snyder having found a way across and dismounted.
"Take him", grunted Reverend lugging Van Helsing towards Snyder storming off angrily.
"Reverend! Reverend wait! What is it?!", asked Snyder.
Reverend stopped her eyes glaring back angrily with starvation. Snyder immediately felt his words swallow back in his throat nd try to choke him as he saw the horrid sight.
"What is it?! Did you just ask me what is it?!", yelled Reverend rasping. She coughed spitting blood and bits of broken bone while the rest stained her torn shirt.
"I was just electrocuted in a bloody river! It's pouring out here! And I spent six hours hunting you down! Six bloody hours! Does no one follow the three fundamental rules of hunting vampires anymore!? Does everyone just do what they feel like and expect me to come to their aid and save them?! Every time!?", yelled Reverend.
"Reverend I apologize but you are immortal and I tried to tell Van Helsing but he wouldn't listen!", snapped Snyder.
"Immortal?! Is that what everyone thinks now!? Just because I've been alive for thousands of years does not bloody mean I can't die!!!!!", shouted Reverend. She glared "Get out of the rain", she warned.
Snyder was still, "NOW!", bellowed Reverend leaving to go find that run away horse.
