^^Chapter 2^^
"I can't believe you're gonna have to work with him good luck with him." Harper spoke through laughter, her eyes almost filled with tears. You know, the one that come up after a huge laughing session.
" I know and I'll need all the luck in the world." I say hoping the assignment would be over already. After the first period, my second one was math. I couldn't hate it more so I was glad that that was done fast. My third one, that happened to be english, was also quickly dismissed, even though I'm pretty sure I'd most likely enjoy it more than math. Harper and I had english together, so afterwards, we headed straight towards our familiar cafeteria table, where I noticed Lilly was already seated at.
"So..." She giggled, her eyes slowly shutting down as she tried her best to hold a laughter that threatened to come out.
"Ethan, huh?" I glared at her and she smirked, as Harper chuckled, shaking her head lightly, just as we sat down together.
"Just drop it." I sighed, my eyes rolling, as i placed my food tray on to the light blue table, they looked at each other, stupid smile across their faces.
"I want this the least!" My voice was full of regret and I felt like I was ran over by a train. My eyes shut, as i tilted my head upwards, dropping it as I exhaled.
We talked about random stuff, as Alice and Oliver soon joined us. They chatted, intensely, and we all just sat there awkwardly as they only talked amongst each other. I took quick glances at both Harper and Lilly, before I spoke up.
"Okay, lovebirds." I chuckled to my own words and sighed sarcastically, playing with my food on the tray. My eyes on the fork in my hand.
" Don't call us that way." Alice hissed playfully at me, her eyes sparkling, as she smiled immediately afterwards, assuring me how she actually didn't mean anything serious.
"Yea! We are not such thing." Oliver added with a smirk, his eyes finding Alice's. She blushed, which added to her cuteness. And that comes from me as a friend. Duh!
"Greetings everyone." I felt a hand on my shoulder, just as the voice spoke up. Oliver cluthed his fist, releasing a breath, as Harper slowly rose up from her seat, her eyes piercing at whoever was behind me. Lilly slightly smirked, placing her chin in her hand as she stared at the person behind me. Alice on the other side, slightly tensed up.
This time, I stood up and forcefully removed the hand from my shoulder. I turned around and faced a mischievously smiling Ethan.
"The fish sticks you want?!" Harper spatted, her teeth only a bit parted. She seemed to step closer to me, as my hands rose up towards her, stopping her movements.
"Excuse us!" I spoke to my friends, before my palm pushed forcefully against Ethan's shoulder pushing him away. I pulled him by his arm and stopped as we were couple of meters away from our table.
"Oh. Privacy? I like the way you think." He kept on his stupid smirk, his head nodding, as he seemed completely amused. I squinted my eyes, quickly shaking my head.
"No!" I barked, viciously rubbing my temple, in a complete frustration. He still stayed in his position, apparently his eyes still on me.
"I don't want that." I whispered-yelled, as he suddenly snickered.
"Besides, do you not see all of the people in here? I wo-wouldn't really call this privacy." I said as he leaned in and squinted his eyes, keepi g his stare to mine. His arms folded across his chest.
"What?" I questioned, backing slowly away. His grin slowly showing up, as he straightened himself up. I still looked at him, my face puzzled.
"Uh yeah! You do have some nice pair of dark eyes." I rolled my nice eyes and looked at him confusingly, my lips forming a tight line.
"And may I know what was the reason you came to our table anyway?" I added and he chuckled, as I deepened my stare at him. His arms dropped to his sides as he looked around.
"Well Love couldn't I just talk to you?" He now softly smiled and i tilted my head to the side. I'm pretty sure it was noticeable how surprised and lost I was.
"No! Thats not a good reason." His smirk crawled up, as I sighed, deeply, now I guess, obviously annoyed. While he was staring at me chuckling.
"And don't call me "love" or any lovey-fucking-dovey names!" Apparently my words were funny since he bursted out in laughter. His pearly white teeth showing, as he harshley breathed, in between his laughter.
"Just be at my house at around half past five." He passed slowly by me. "I'll like to start to work on that project of ours." Adding, as he winked as I shivered from a disgusting feeling. Ugh.
I hate to admit it, but he was right. I, myself, wanted to finish this project as soon as possible, so it should be good we start early. Besides, the only way I could avoid him on this one, was to do the project by myself, and I ain't letting that little shit to get out of it. Also... I'm not particularly bad at phtsics, yet I could use some help, and...Well, if anything, Ethan is pretty damn good at physics, if I say so myself. The basics of the project are to do some calculations and prove them by doing the experiement. It sounds easy and I would honestly say it seems like something to be done in eighth grade, but we do have some complicated tasks that are based on the power of electricity and some energy assignments.
All booo-ring if you ask me. I just hope we will do this fast and quick.
I walked myself back to our table, only to find my beloved friends talking lazily with each other. Oliver kept his gaze at his food, but spoke to me anyway.
"So what did that fucker want?" His tone was quite harsh, but he managed to smirk, almost too fake.
"Let it be Oli." He looked at me witb squinted eyes and an angry expression, and it was probably cause I called him the nickname only I used and he one hundred percent hates.
"Okay keep it down." Alice said giggling at his act, while her hands tapped the thin napkin over her mouth.
"Asshole just wanted to talk about the project." I added, while sitting down next to Lilly, who nudged by my side. I looked at her sideways. My eyes almost literally yelled out sarcasm.
"And he said exactly what!?" She spoke amused, cause she was always up to any of us to get a cute guy, no matter how much we dislike him. So I guess she realized how close Ethan tried to get.
"He said I should be at his house around half past five, yeah, t-that's it." I said casually, except for my stupid stuttering. She looked around them, purposely pointing her finger at me, as if I couldn't see her, her face sarcastically weird.
" We are gonna have a word with this one." Lilly said in attempt to whisper, yet it came out a bit loud. She looked over at Alice and nodded in some type of agreement and I just snorted at their behavior, looking back at my so-called-food.
"Well we better get going, or else we will be late for class." Harper said looking at me. I stood up, sighing, and followed her to the cafeteria, after cleaning my mess. What? I don't exactly play by the rules, but my mom did raise me properly.
I had another period with Harper, and Alice was in this one too. She actually came later with Oliver and Lilly, but they left soon after, to their class. I'm too lost to know where I live anymore.
~~~~~~
"Guys, I'm pretty sure Connor is already freaking out and I better get going!" I smiled at them as we slowly made our way out of the school. Last period was dismissed and I had to hurry up, since Connor was my ride home.
"Sure thing, girly!" Lilly spoke, kissing my cheek before Alice pulled me away into a hug. We all giggled at each other, just as I stepped in front of them, only to get their attention, as I was gonna leave.
"Hey I'll be at Michael's later. I heard he was sick, so he missed school." Oliver said,as he, per usual, glanced over Alice. They all stopped, looking at each other, as if waiting for anyone to speak.
"Well greet him and tell him to get better." I spoke to Oliver, while hugging him.
"And tell him I'll come tomorrow or as soon as I can." Oliver smiled at me as we said our goodbyes.
Michael, I'm just gonna say how besides Oliver, he is possibly my best male friend. Michael Allen, could also be labeled as my brother from another mother. He is super protective over all of us, which is usually the main reason he gets introuble. He is on a bad voice, mostly mentioned as, That super hot boy, as an actual motherfucker.
Translation: He is an actual troublemaker, and not the self-centered prick, who thinks of himself the most wanted criminal. It's usually very annoying how people only see him as exactly that, when he's only halfish similar to the words of these random people, That only judge him at first. He is,most of the time, really sweet and pretty cool. He also plays soccer, so that being said, all the girls drool over him.
I headed towards Connor's car, where he patiently waited for me. Which was quite of a surprise since he's always tense and impatient.
"Waddup Sis!" Connor said, his voice all giddy and excited. His arms were thrown upwards, as his dark green t-shirt uncovered his lower stomach.
"Are we going or what?!" He smiled, putting his arms around my shoulder. And that's when I took a quick glance at the car parked next to Connor's, realizing why he loosened up.
"Oh snap, look at this pretty lady." Adam said and I almost choked on my own breath, making him snicker, his eyes also rolling. He leaned against his car, one foot on it and the other one keeping his balance steady, set on the ground.
"Oh save it sweetie!" I teased him and he chuckled glancing at Connor's angry-looking face, as I felt him tense.
"Uh..loosen up a bit. Dude you're so stiff." Adam spoke to Connor, while I grinned widley at Connor's supposed-to-be angry face expression. He chuckled, as I shook along with him, just because he still kept his strong and overly protective arm, around me.
"Nah. I'm cool!" Connor responded while opening the car door. He quickly tugged me in, while I laughed as he struggled toa actually put my seat belt on, and I could hear Adam laugh as well. Connor was quick to give up and soon, he was already in the driver's seat.
"Well see ya later lads!" Adam waved at us his beautiful white teeth showing perfectly.
"Hey! I'm a girl!" I responded quickly, my lips forming a slight smirk, as Connore sighed deeply, his head moving sideways.
"A beautiful one!" Adam yelled back as we were already pulling out of the parking spot. I waved at him and we were soon at the road.
"Chill bro, nothing's happening." I punched him lightly in the arm, just as we were driving along the road.
"Besides you're the one who wanted me to hang out with the boys and you." I added, making him chuckle slightly, realizing it was true.
~~~~~~~~~
"Mom I'm leaving!" I yelled at her from the hallway, reaching for my shoes.
"I'll be back around eight o' clock. I'll do my best to come even early. I deeply sighed. I told her earlier today thag I have to work on a project and she was okay with me going to Ethan's house. She supposedly knew his parents so she didn't mind. Unlike me.
"Alright darling!" She beamed, smiling brightly as she walked towards me from the kitchen while wiping her hands off of her apron. She kissed me on the cheek and I walked out, heading towards Ethan's place. He lived only few houses away from me, so I could walk my way to there.
Only two minutes later, I found myself standing at his front door on his porch. I hugged my jacket, tightly around my torso, sighing for the hundreth time. I knocked casually on the door and gripped my backpack's strap tighter on my shoulder. Only few seconds later, the white door opened. He stood besides the door, leaning smugly against it.
"Welcome love, I'd been waiting for you." He smirked at me as I rolled my eyes. He stepped aside and took my backpack, politely off my shoulders, taking it in his hands.
"Please don't flirt with me, atleast not now while we work on this project." I definitely sounded pleading and only before the few last words of my sentence, I heard a loud chuckle, that definitely wasn't Ethan's. Glancing over his shoulders I saw the person I wanted to see the least.
Adrian.
