^^Chapter 4^^
"Come on. Get up!" Someone's squeaky voice shook me out of my deep sleep. I violently opened my eyes open and jumped up from the warm and comfy position I was peacefully sleeping in.
"I'm up Matt, I'm up!" I rubbed my eyes, sitting up in my bed. He sat next to me, as his short legs swung from the side of my bed.
"Mom told me to wake you up, since you weren't coming downstairs." He explained.
"Thanks. Now could you get out? I have to change." I said as I got up from my bed and rushed to the bathroom, and stepping on the cold white tiles, as I was barefooted.
"Oh fine." He said, "But don't make us wait on you!' He shouted, before shutting the door behind himself. I chuckled to myself and kept on brushing my teeth. Soon after I finished doing my thing, I went back to my bedroom. I was quite of a rush and my mission right now was to find some good clothes to put on.
I didn't particularly care how I looked, but I also wanted to seem atleast somewhat appealing. After a couple of minutes passed by, I put on some clothes that would probably be nice for today. I rushed downstairs and walked to the kitchen, where I saw my mom cooking breakfast.
"Finally you wake up!" My mom said," I was about to go wake you up with a bucket of cold water!" I widened my eyes, while my mom and my little brother just started laughing.
"Oh by the way darling, I'm super busy in the office today so I need you at the house immediately after school to take care of Matthew." She said walking towards the kitchen table with food.
"Fine! But you do know that I have a project to work on?" I questioned in a hope this would change her mind. I didn't even want to think about that project. I just simply used it to be a reason for her to think otherwise.
"Well Arielle... Connor has football trainer after school, and has a lot of homework to do afterwards." She sighed deeply and seemed to be lost in thoughts. I hate to see her like this. She was always really busy and did her best to keep this family moving forward.
She worked hard even before my dad and her divorced, and then imagine her working even more. She just wasnt willing to give up. I had to make a good plan that'll work for all of us, especially for her.
"Oh...what if I bring him with me?" I said, she looked at me confused yet managed to smile after realizing my suggestion. Her eyes widened alongside the smile she couldn't hide. Mainly because I actually offered my help, giving her the best opportunity to finally work the best she can.
"I'll bring him to Ethan's house and he'll be with me the whole time." I added,"I'm pretty sure he won't mind, besides, you said you're okay with me going to that boy's house. If I'm there, Matt is okay to come with me." I smiled back at her and she nodded her head.
"Thank you darling! I knew you wouldn't let your mother down!" She came walking to me and kissed my cheek.
"Hey! I wouldn't let you down either!" I recognized Connor's morning voice, just as I snapped my head towards the kitchen entrance. He stood there with his white and sleeveless undershirt. His sleepy hair all over the place, as his grey sweatpants engulfed his legs.
"Well,ha-ha! It's too late! She loves me more than you now." I stuck my tongue out and he grinned sarcastically. We both ended up laughing, with mom and Matt giggling at us.
Few mintues passed by and mom left, with Matthew along. She would drop him at school and leave to her job. She works in a huge attorney company. Her job was at the top finest ones.
After they were gone, I waited ten minutes for Connor to get ready. He didn't take too much time, yet he slowly tugged along. He was too lazy.
"I won't be able to drive you home today. You do realize that?" He questioned, waiting for my answer as as he turned the car on.
"Yeah,yeah! I'll just find myself another ride." I sounded excited, over actually nothing. It's just that I didn't want to be a pain in the ass and whine about how I won't be able to get home. Looking ahead of us, I couldn't see our house but the street of our neighborhood. There were those maple trees filling the streets, mainly in front of every house atleast one tree. The school was closer if we took the left turn from our house.
"Oo-kay.." He sounded weirded out and I chuckled at his expression. But we were slowly driving along our long street. The first turn to the right out of many in the main street we were in, was where Ethan's house was. Just to mention.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Ariz!" I heard someone yell at me as I attempted to enter the school. I knew the only person that lets no one else call me that name, and yes, I guessed it well.
I found myself in someone's tight embrace and snapping my head up quickly I smiled at Michael's grin.
"Love, you came!" He sounded like a baby, as his arms covered in nothing but short sleeves of his t-shirt, held me close against him, making it possible for me to smell his familiar scent.
"And why wouldn't I?" I asked through gigles, as he slowly let go of me. He looked up and around, pursing his lips and shooting one eyebrow up.
"I don't know!" He shrugged casually, his eyebrows furrowing, his lips forming a frown of unknowingly.
"It's almost eight o'clock, so I got scared you decided to ditch me." He fakly pouted, as we made our way inside the school. I lightly laughed at his childish behavior that was quite regular.
"Says the guy who didn't come yesterday." I pointed my tongue out and he mocked me by doing the same.
We were soon at our lockers where we met up with the others. The guys bro hugged and the girls hugged too. We chatted and caught up on things, nothing important nor specific, before the girls made up an excuse and left the boys behind as they dragged me into the girl's restroom.
"Don't say a thing to Michael!" Lilly went straight to the point, her hands tightly gripping my arms. She pulled me to the middle of the restroom, in front of the stalls. There were few seniors in the restroom looking at us from over their shoulders. Lipsticks or cigars in their hands. It's always either one of those.
"Yeah, he'll kill him if he found out." Alice added a bit quiter, her eyes moving between Lilly, me, and the door. She seems to make sure mo one from the outside could hear.
"What exactly are you talking about??" I questioned, still not minding the strange looks we are receiving from the girls in here. Lilly rolled her eyes, realising my arms, as Alice looked away, snickering.
"A guy? You must be having a side dude, huh?" Zara jokingly speaking up, as she puckered her lips to the dirty mirror observing her well done lips. She was one of the many, surprisingly friendly, seniors. Her long black hair swayed as she shook her head to my playful roll of eyes. Matilda giggling besides her, applying some mascara over her pretty darn beautiful natural eyelashes.
"What can I say...I taught her well." She spoke to Zara, winking at me through the mirror.
"Yes girls. You're awesome and one day we want to upgrade our game to reach the level of yours, but..." Lilly sarcastically, but all in a good way, spoke. Alice looking around, probably considering how to present today's lecture to me.
"We need you to make sure this is low key." I nodded my head, frustratingly shaking my hands, the girls around us laugh. Walking around the restroom, I came near one of those windows where two girls I actually knew, stood.
"As if you don't know Michael." Alice spoke softly, walking over to Matilda who offered her to put some lipstick on. Lilly sighed, leaning against the bathroom wall.
"Allen? Damn, that boy." Yanet spoke from besides me, as I giggled, helping Scarlet, her friend, open up the old and rusty windows, so we don't get in trouble for the smell of cigars in here.
"I'd do dat." Yanet added, her smirk evident, as she pulled a long cigar from the cigarette box she shared with Scarlet herself. I couldn't help but chuckle, obviously to the fact that Michael was one of the closest people to me, basically apart of my family, knowing him all too well. Girls like him, but unlike you'd probably think, girls are around here are far away from being any similar to the stereotypical description of teenage girls. Sadly, we get mistaken since the boys around here are nothing more than pieces of shitty assholes, who'd like nothing more than to rule every girl's life. Not all of them, but quite many.
"Maybe...I like your enthusiasm." I joked, speaking to Yanet who just threw the remain part of the cigar out of the window. They all laughed softly, Alice doing her best not to, since Matilda was just working in her eyelashes. Lilly checked her phone, while Zara took one cigar from Yanet, releasing some stress before going to class.
"Let's go. I think they'd be wondering where we're at." I stepped away from the girls, while one patted my back.
"What was that about?!" Michael asked us as soon as Lilly and I walked in the science classroom, as he seemed to be waiting for us. I had biology with the two of them and I was seated next to Lilly, behind Michael.
"So?!" He questioned once again, turning around as we sat at our desks. I huffed , dropping my backpack beside my desk, while Lilly simply shrugged, her backpack still on her back while she just sat there.
"Some girl stuff." I reassured him with a smile, my hand patting his arm, as he leaned his elbows against my desk. My own elbows were leaned the same way while we stared at each other. Me smiling, him still staring weirdly at me.
"Dude. You don't. Even. Wanna know." Lilly added and made a disgusted look on her face, which made Michael turn around with a grossed out look on his own.
"It was quiet in the class before, of course, the bell had to ring. The teachers hasn't came in yet, but we all knew she'll be here soon. And well, I hope sooner than ever, due to the fact that the two of ny favorite people ever just walked in.
Mr. Collins amd Mr. Wright
Alongside their little group of friends.
"Hiya Babe." Adrian smirked at me, his eyes dancing along my entire body, as my arms were crossed across my chest and I gagged, obviously on purpose. He quickly shot a glare at Michael, just as he looked away from me, for only a split second. I torn my gaze away from my hands that were placed on my desk in front me, and quickly looked up at Michael. He spread his legs, in that boyish way, and seated himself back in his chair. His left hand, as he was a left handed himself, rapidly tapped the black pen of his against the desk he sat at, his right hand resting over his stomach. I sat up and leaned towards him, his back still turned to me as I placed my hand on his shoulder. He relaxed and his head snapped towards me, his dark eyes squinting at me, his lips tightly shut together.
"Ignore." I simply spoke, as he relaxed releasing a chuckle. The next thing I noticed was Lilly, staring behind us. I looked at her and turned around, she chuckled fakly and quickly and went back to her serious looking face.
"God they're pigs." She gritted her teeth and fiercely grabbing her pen, she started scribbling things onto her blank paper. Her leg jumping up and down, as she had the habit to shake her legs when she's in any kind of mood. Michael was perfectly still on his chair and I smiled to myself hoping to see him more like this.
"Hey babe, why don't you tell them how much you enjoyed last night?" Adrian's deep voice echoed in my head. I clutched my fist and slammed it against the desk. I knew he was referring to me. Chelsea wasn't in this class and there was no other girl that he would annoy so much. I ran my hands over my face in frustration, just as Lilly giggled mostly to herself, and quickly shot her head towards the window, hoping not to meet my confused eyes.
"Ayo, Collins..." Michael stood up, folding his arms across his chest, as he spoke, "have you been born with this attitude or does it take time to be a dick?" Michael casually questioned, leaning against his desk, just as he received few laughs and giggles from around the classroom. Even from myself. Lilly turned back around, laughing her ass off just as she was quick to look behind at Adrian
"Damn Collins. He got you with that one." She spoke, her voice all playful and her hands moving around, to add up some drama. I snorted and looked up at Michael, just as he received no answer from Adrian.
"Look man....I just tried to be nice and asked her politely. I did actually see her last night." Adrian spoke up and my heart did a backflip. I did see him but I hoped he wouldn't go around school and tell every single detail to everyone. Or even make up a lie, which would get to me so badly. Also remembering the video, I didn't feel any better.
"Hold up Adrian, I was at Ethan's. Working on a project. And I have no idea what kind of fun you're talking about, but that must have been all in your head." I defended myself, before Michael got a chance to talk. He released a full fake chuckle.
"If you thought we were overreacting when it comes to Michael's behavior towards Adrian, you are certainly wrong. It's unexplainable how much Michael hates Adrian. We aren't even sure why, but we came to conclusion that sounds reasonable enough.
You see, Michael and Adrian were quite close friends. They supposedly knew each other since sixth grade, that's when Adrian moved into this area. I knew Michael at the time, but found out about his friendship with Adrian later. Apparently they were cool and somewhat best friends, until high school. Adrian started getting popular, because he would mostly get in trouble and have everyone know him, and for unfamiliar reason, like him. Michael wasn't jealous of his popularity, he still knew Adrian was his friend even if he does hang out with other people too. What started bothering Michael was thay Adrian would turn his back on him. If Michael got in trouble, Adrian would just stand aside and do nothing to help him, if Michael needed help Adrian would make an excuse and leave, if Michael wanted to hang out Adrian would make other plans and turn him down. If Michael got embarrassed, Adrian would laugh at him instead of defending him in front of the people who mocked him. Michael soon got tired of this "friendship" and spatted everything directly in front of Adrian's face. Of course, his way too big ego couldn't handle it and they refused to ever be friends again. I hung out with him since the day I met him, which was like when I was three, and I hardly even heard anything about Adrian. I met Lilly when I was with Michael in primary school. She of course introduced us to Harper and Alice and we all ran into geeky Oliver.
We were all Michael's best buds, even at the time he would be with Adrian, but he always kept him away. I honestly I think thay was the best, we would get hurt by seeing Michael get hurt too.
"Allen! Let him be." He turned around to face me. His face was washed over with anger, yet his eyes softened staring at mine. He managed to relax a bit.
"His face is not worth touching your fist." I added making him chuckle. He smiled at me in reassurment as Lilly interrupted us by starting to talk on some totally different subject.
The teacher came in a minute later, which was already seven minutes after the beginning of the period.
The lecture started and we did some boring stuff on the evolution of animals. Don't get me wrong, science was probably one of my, not many, favorite subjects. But this stuff was quite amusing.
Something hit the back of my head and I let my thought slip away, as I stopped myself from tapping my pen against my notebook. I looked up from it and found a folded papers. Opening the paper I kept on silencly sighing and glancing over at the teacher to reassure myself that she hasn't noticed me.
I couldn't help notice that hot outfit of yours ;)
I rolled my eyes at what the note said. Of course I knew who it was from. I glared over my shoulder only to see Adrian and his boys smirking at me. I simply tossed the paper over my head, making sure it lands on their desk. I smiled to myself and continued to write down some notes. Only around a minute later, another paper landed in front of me and I took it fiercely, huffing repeatedly, opening it, I read it again.
I just wanted to let you know thay I'll be waiting for you at the restroom after this period.
Make sure to come ;)
This time I groaned at the note. The teacher gave me a weird look and I just went on writing some of the notes down. I kept the paper and decided to face Adrian after the period. This is too much.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The whole period passed by quickly and I had a free one. All my buddies were somewhere else, mainly in their classes, and I decided to stay at my locker to confront Adrian. He would probably be somewhere around here.
I was probably waiting at least five minutes, until I heard footsteps and loud laughter coming from the end of the hallway. I knew it was all of his crew members, but I was still sure about not running away, yet stopping this crap.
"Well, well, well. Look at my baby all alone." Adrian's playful smile was followed by a frown. I leaned against the lockers and chuckled sarcastically to myself, looking away from them. My gaze was turned to my left, as I made sure to fold my arms beneath my chest.
"First of fucking all, don't call me that and second of all, we need to talk." I growled through my gritted teeth, but ended the last part a bit calmer. My eyes completely directioned towards him, as I pushed myself away from the lockers, stepping in front of him.
"Aww sweetie! I see someone's moody today." Ethan added pouting fakly, but soon biting down on his lower lip, his eyes all over me, as he winked. My stomach seriously seemed to want and throw my entire meal from earlier out.
"I'm gonna need to talk to Adrian only." I remained serious even after they all whistled and oohed at my words. Adrian kept on smirking, while looking around at them. His arms pressed against his chest, as they were folded over each other. His arms outlined the black t-shirt he had on.
"I told you she'd come around." He slightly grinned this time. I nudged my head as a message for them to leave. Two of them, Jake and Lloyd, turned around and as they were walking away they'd glanced over their shoulders, winking at me, while Blake walked backwards, his hands in his pockets, as he bit down on his lip eyeing me all over. Ethan soon followed behind. They were all soon out of my sight, even though I could hear them all mutter some stuff and yet again whistle.
"So babe... what's wrong?" He seemed sincere, but it was obviously too sarcastic. He stepped closer to me, leaning down a bit, to be somewhat closer to my height. His eyes slightly squinting, while his arns stayed the way they were. His lips fell into a straight line, while he bit his bottom one.
"Just stop." I bursted out," I told you not to call me names like that." I whined slightly, as I was really annoyed. My hands moving around in frustration, as he watched carefully, now smiling as he did. He gently took my hand in his, making me stop with his actions. My eyes suddenly locked
with his, as I had no idea what the outcome of this. He looked straight into my eyes, moving even closer, a sly smile on his face.
"Shh.." He added, our bodies pressed against each other's while I suddenly realized. I gulped and his eyes seeming to soften a bit. A small smile replayed on his face, with me against him. His right arm circled my waist, bringing me against him, as his other hand cupped my jawline and his thumb caressed my cheek.
"What exactly do you think you're doing?" I whispered-yelled, squirming in his grasp. I pushed him away and he laughed, rather dryly. His large hand grasped my lower forearm, pulling him with me. I heard the door slam loudly, as I noticed he brought me inside the school's restroom.
"Adrian, c-could you just stop?" I spoke up, walking towards him in hope to walk pass by him and get out. He grabbed my wrist, the grasp of his hand seemed to not be too tight, but not gentle enough for me to bother and pull my arm away. He walked fowards making me follow his actions. My back hit the wall, as I breathed deeply in, having his face close to mine. His hot breath against my face, as I couldn't but breath in yet again, his dam well good smell filling up my nostrils.
"And what if I don't?" He grinned and pushed me up against the wall even harder, his body tightly pressed against mine. I rolled my eyes unsure of the situation. He never even bothered to get in contact with me or even communicate until the last few weeks. And now this was driving me crazy. In a bit too many differently ways.
"What will you do then?" A corner of his lips twirling up, as he breathed in, his face leaning into the crook of my neck. He suddenly rose his head, his eyes glued to mine, glistening with amusement. Lips parting a bit, as he licked his upper lip slowly. I gasped , as he now placed his hands on each side of me.
