25• a date?

--WEDNESDAY--

Today was the Good vs Evil themed day, and I had decided to be Wonder Woman. When I had gone shopping with Nigato, he had suggested that I be Princess Diana, since apparently, there was a time which I was seriously obsessed with her after the DC comics had released the movie back in 2016, which I obviously don't recall. But I went on to watch the movie last night and I couldn't help but cry when Steve sacrificed himself. I even opened my Instagram and saw that I did, in fact, follow Gal Gadot.

My Instagram account had very few posts that featured me with my dog Triksy (most of them), Cliff in some, Dawn in two or three posts which seemed to have been taken against her will judging by how she frowned in all of them, and the rest were with Nigato, Dylan (I cringed and quickly scrolled past), Jac and some students I wasn't familiar with.

I had no picture with Valerie Hawthorne, which struck me as very strange.

The rest of the posts seemed to have been taken in different events where I was with a bunch of crowds.

I told myself not to overthink about my account. I had still not yet fully scoured my phone so I had not yet uncovered all mysteries that had happened the past three years.

Before I got out of Cliff's car, I told him of my car that had already been fixed.

"I don't know how to drive," I said.

"You don't remember how to drive," he corrected.

"Yeah, that's what I meant."

"I'll send someone to go get it," Cliff unlocked the door and we got out.

I immediately became self-conscious at my short outfit, even though I had worn fishnet stockings in a bid to at least give myself the illusion that I was covering my legs.

Then I spotted Valerie wearing the exact same outfit and my mouth dropped. She passed by me with a nasty smile. "Oh, hi Reddee. What a coincidence."

I narrowed my eyes as she walked on. I had the strangest inkling that she knew I was probably going to wear this outfit. I didn't let it get to me though. This wasn't a competition, just a Pep Rally to enjoy ourselves and be proud of our school.

Nigato caught up to me with his hair disheveled hair as we made our way to the school entrance.

"What the hell happened to you?" I laughed.

"My sisters," he said. "It's pure hell riding with them. You should really start giving me rides again, Red."

I bit my lip nervously. "I will. Soon enough."

Nigato nodded to the brown drink that I held in my hand. "For Clark?"

"Yeah."

Thanks to Nigato, I had now known what drink he had been taking that day that we sat at Brickle's Diner. It was called Nutmeg Manna and I had taken a small, very small sip, only to discover how spicy sweet it was. It couldn't beat my rainbow colored Unicorn Delight though as the Nutmeg Manna had a sharp tang that scared my tongue a bit.

"Well, good luck," Nigato said.

I hoped I'd have more than that, to be honest. Ashton buzzing around Clark was the last thing that I wanted.

But then, alas! The gods of luck had it out for me it seemed.

I watched the duo walking down the hallway, engrossed in some chatting.

I stood in front of them and cleared my throat as they stopped their walk and talk.

"Hey, Dee-Red," said Clark. "Red. Sorry, I'm so used to Dee."

"Hello, Blondie." Ash drawled mockingly.

"Hey, Clark," I acknowledged before addressing Ashton. "Hello, pile of Ash."

His mouth dropped as he let out a shocked gasp. "You didn't."

I shrugged before giving Clark his drink. "Here you go. Have a nice day."

I walked away with a bounce in my step.

--THURSDAY--

"Babe, I really miss you. I wanna see you today." –Jac.

That was the first text that greeted me in the morning. I hadn't seen Jac for a while, and I mostly blamed it on myself. A huge part of me had not yet fully acknowledged that we were in a relationship, and I wanted to think that since I was an amnesiac, he was giving me space?

Unless I was delusional . . .

I texted him.

'Okay. Place and Time?'

A few dots danced as he texted.

'Behind the Gym just before class begins. x.' –Jac.

I raised my eyebrows. Behind the Gym? It struck me as strange but I shrugged the feeling off. I'd just have to see what he wanted.

Since today was Disney day, I had a really hard time keeping the insanely long wig out of my way. Being dressed as Rapunzel was starting to look like a bad idea, as the golden blonde wig which was already braided and adorned with flowers, reached my knees, and felt quite heavy. I had to watch my every step and move as I literally did not want the wig to end up tangled in doorknobs and shit.

I liked the dress though. It was the same shade of purplish-pink color, but the only modification that it had was that it reached just an inch below my knees.

And, of course, the whole outfit was topped with a chameleon doll sewed on the shoulder of my dress.

Today, I didn't bring anything for Clark. I didn't want to come off strongly and too desperate for his friendship. It might have sounded a bit stupid but I wanted him to wonder if I'd make a move today.

I hoped he would.

Following Jac's text, I went to the Gym and came outside the building, only to see him standing there, already waiting.

When he saw me, relief washed on his face and he walked towards me with intent. "Babe."

The way he walked towards me prickled my senses and I was suddenly alert. His eyes had a strange look to it that I did not like.

Suddenly, he grabbed my face in his hands and kissed me with an eagerness that kinda felt forceful. I was too frozen at first to react but then something didn't feel right.

I pulled away. "Jac, what the hell?"

He stared at me with a kind of sadness. "Please, Dee. I've missed you. I really need you."

"I'm here," I crossed my arms as I gave him a wary look. "Did you want to talk about something?"

He inched closer again. "I just . . . need you, right now."

Without warning, he pulled my neck closer and began planting kisses on my throat. I tingled a bit and felt a shiver lick my spine at how good it felt.

"Let's skip school," he said in between his kisses, and his warm breath made me feel giddy I almost closed my eyes. "Just for today. It'll be worth it."

"No . . ." I said, breathless. What he was making me feel was otherworldly but I knew it was entirely wrong even though my body was reacting to his touch. "We . . . shouldn't."

"I'll make you feel ali-"

"Dee?"

I pushed Jac away and turned to the new voice. It was . . .

"Dylan."

My blood froze as I glanced nervously between them. Dylan wore a blank expression. He was unreadable.

I had not yet come to terms that I was having a secret affair with him because that wasn't me. If I was a cheater, I'd have felt it in my bones. I was sure of it.

"Uhm . . ." I had no clue of what to say. Why was I nervous anyway? Jac was my boyfriend and Dylan had just walked in on us making out, which was a very normal thing to do with your boyfriend.

I was lost for words though until I took note of Dylan's outfit. "Are you Flynn Rider??!" It came out more like an accusation.

How dare he have an outfit that complemented mine as though we were a couple, which we clearly WERE NOT!

"Yeah," he said in a dead voice before turning away. "I'll see you later."

Then he left.

I turned to Jac and gave him a confused look. Had Dylan just come to purposely interrupt our making out?

Jac looked at his watch before wincing. "If you're not up for skipping school today, then Saturday night?"

"What about Saturday night?"

"I'll take you to my place after the Dance is over," he smiled that heart-shattering stomach wrenching smile that used to make me swoon. And it bothered me that it used to. Right now, it didn't make me feel anything out of the blue and I wondered why.

"It'll be a date," he said.

My eyes widened at his statement. "A d-date?"

"Yeah," he began smirking as his eyes glinted. "It might stir some good memories, don't you think?"

A fake laugh escaped my mouth. "Haha, wow. I should really go."

I turned and left him just as Dylan had abruptly walked away a few moments ago. The thought of having a date with Jac scared me and I couldn't explain why.

What were my feelings trying to tell me?

--FRIDAY--

Since today was the day we would wear our school colors, I simply went for the cheerleading uniform and pom poms that I found in my closet. I couldn't believe that I was a cheerleader, but then lately I couldn't believe how many things had changed in my life and I realize that it would pointless to dwell on that feeling.

Once I arrived at school, it looked like a blue, yellow and white festival. It was beautiful, nevertheless.

Today, I carried something for Clark. I waited by his locker and this time round, Mr pile of Ash wasn't buzzing around him like expected.

"Hey, Clark." I greeted as he neared his locker.

"Hey."

"I brought you this," I gave him the piece of clothing that I had folded in my hand.

Clark took it and held the black T-shirt in front of him. It was an anime printed shirt that had most of Clark's favorite shows.

I closely scanned his face to see his reaction. Clark sighed before handing me the shirt back. "I don't watch anime anymore, Redding."

My heart sank to my toes and I felt as though I had been punched in the gut.

I fumbled for an answer. "B-But, you can still keep it as a memory?"

He opened his locker, and without looking at me, he said. "I don't want it. It reminds me of the past which I want to forget."

He slammed the locker shut and faced me. "I rather not be reminded of how you left."

Clark turned and walked away, leaving me standing with the shirt meant for him itching my hands. I inhaled sharply to stop the prickling tears from falling out of my eyes.

Well then. So much for progress.
