Time heals all things.
And maybe you'll be left with a scar that will never truly go away: but scars fade. It's still healed, even if you have a scar. As long as the wound closes, I guess.
Time heals all things.
It's fact, I know.
And if you think that time won't heal you, and hasn't been healing you: then you haven't waited long enough.
We spend half our lives waiting. Waiting, waiting, waiting.
Shouldn't we be used to it by now? Shouldn't we have perfected the art of patience?
Why are we so impatient?
Time will heal all things, don't worry about that. Time heals.
But time also destroys, because I think it takes pieces of us when we wait. It's like we're sitting on a timeline: and Time itself is rushing by, over and over again. Each lap it makes around the loop of history, it grabs a piece of us, taking it with us.
But the thing about time, even if it runs ahead of us and leaves us behind, the things it takes stays in our past.
Innocence. Childhood. Dreams. Peace of mind.
Time is the most clever liar, and the greatest thief.
