Chapter Five
Alright peeps, final chapter. Buckle up!
Kai's POV
That was Nya... That was Nya! What the heck have I gotten myself into... I knew she was stubborn but not... this stubborn!
Great, so Lloyd's still missing, Nya is still mad at me and most likely became a stronger fighter and Samurai than all of us. And we still have Pythor and Garmadon to stop and then we have to get the fang blades and-
"Kai? Helloooo?" Jay waved a hand in front of me. I grabbed it and pushed it away, sighing. Everyone was looking at me.
"What?"
"We can go talk to her if you want," said Cole and Jay nodded.
I looked down at my soup- or whatever Cole had made and sighed yet again. I didn't respond.
"I may have found something," Zane burst into the room. I forgot he wasn't there... I didn't even notice him.
"For?" Jay asked.
"Lloyd. I may have found him," said Zane, opening his arm. It still freaked me out every time he did that. I still haven't gotten used to the fact he's an Android. Well... Nindroid.
A hologram appeared. It was a map with a bright red dot on it.
"Before the Serpentine ran off yesterday, I managed to place a tracking device on one of them. If this is accurate, these might be the right coordinations for their hideout, hence Lloyd's location."
"You did that and you didn't tell us?" Cole said. He just shrugged and smiled awkwardly.
"That's in the middle of the desert! Why would they be hiding out here?" Jay exclaimed, only for Zane to shrug again.
"Well, we better get going if we want to catch up," I said, switching into my gi.
Doing Spinjitsu was still kinda new to us, but boy did I feel dizzy the first couple of times. I still do, and the feeling of being surrounded by fire doesn't really comfort me. But oh well, at least I get a cool sword.
"Kai's right. We should get there before anyone else does," Zane said.
"We're all thinking of the same person, right?" Cole asked, Jay and Zane nodding in agreement.
"Man, I hate that guy. Coming in with his shiny robots and stuff. I mean, we've got Zane, a much cooler robot, and tons of training!" Jay said.
Oh, they were talking about her...
"Maybe he's not all that bad..." I mumbled.
"He's stealing our job. He is that bad," Cole said and changed into his suit.
The other two soon followed. The first time we didn't shout 'Ninja Go!'. Great team work, guys.
"I've already informed Sensei. We should get going," Zane said. We all nodded and ran towards the stables.
I'm still mad at Flame for being such a little traitor, but I can't blame him, really... Who wouldn't help Nya get out of a sticky situation that I caused?
"Hey bud," I said and petted Flame's head. I got up and without a warning, he flew up.
The other three got into Wisp, Shard and Rocky separately and we all flew off.
The view was better than I remembered; it would have been nice to admire it for a tad longer, if we weren't, you know, about to save the Green Ninja from a bunch of snake people.
Just another day in Ninjago, as Jay always says...
It didn't take long to exit the city and head into the desert. I haven't been there in a while. It looked the same though, I mean, it's a desert...
"Guys, do you see that?" I said
"See what?" They all said in unison and I pointed in the distance.
It was something like an arena. And it was huge. I squinted my eyes but still couldn't see very well.
"Let's land somewhere here," I said.
We all got off our dragons, and thank the First Spinjitsu Master for those giant boulders we could hide behind.
We landed at the very top, and we were just close enough to see what was going on. Well, kind off.
"Okay, so I see lots of green blobs, a green blob floating, and a big red blob fighting green blobs," Jay said and we all facepalmed.
"The green blobs are Serpentine, the floating one must be Lloyd locked in a cage, and the Samurai is the red one," Zane corrected him, and we all stared at him in shock.
"Great, so he steals our job, now he'll steal Lloyd too," Cole rolled his eyes.
I gave him a glare. "Maybe he just wants to help? Think before you speak, boulderhead."
"Let's just go and save him."
Of course, we're Ninja. We have to be sneaky and silent. And of course, we didn't do any of that.
"Sorry we came in so late!" Cole said. Because jumping in the middle of the arena is an amazing idea.
Lloyd's face lit up as he called over to us, and Nya flinched.
The Serpentine on the arena ran away, and the rest of the crowd stayed silent.
"At last, Ninja. I thought you'd be late to the party."
A figure came out of the shadows, hissing. Pythor...
"Just let the kid go," I said. "And the Samurai..." I'm only doing this for you, Nya...
"Well, I can't do that. But since we're all here, how about another match? The show must go on, after all..." He said and backed away.
Suddenly a huge metal fence rose around us and Nya. There was no way out.
"Whoever wins, gets the Green Ninja," he cackled.
Cole laughed. "Piece of cake," he said.
Nya hesitantly took a fighting stance in her mech. Oh Nya...
"Let's see who will steal our job now!" Jay said and took out his nunchuks.
At least Zane didn't say a cheesy one- liner, he just took out his shurikens and smiled.
"Begin!" Pythor shouted and they all charged at her.
We all looked like annoying little flies compared to that mech. But somehow we were winning. Nya wasn't fighting us...
She shot a grappling hook, but not to attack us. She managed to land it outside the fence, pressing a button from the control room.
Wait, control room...?
The fences sunk into the ground. But something was off.
The ground was moving. The arena started to tilt.
"Guys, get Lloyd!" I shouted.
All the Serpentine ran away, heck, even Pythor. The guys were trying to unlock Lloyd's cage, and I was left alone with Nya, who was holding onto her mech. She wasn't even moving.
"Look, Nya, I know it's you." No response. "I know you're scared and I know I was a jerk and the worst brother ever, but I need you to get us out of here."
No response again.
"I'm sorry, okay? I tried to be a good brother! I just wanted to protect you! I promised that I would always do to mom and dad!"
Was she smiling, crying, I couldn't tell. The mech's window opened. The stage was almost upside down. I started to fall and clinged onto the side.
"We've got Lloyd!" Cole shouted.
The mech finally started to move, and fire came out of its feet and back. It grabbed me like it was nothing, then flew to grab the others. What the heck?
"Thank you, Nya..." I let out a sigh of relief. The others all let out a huge gasp, but I didn't mind. Now it was just me and Nya-
There was nobody inside the mech. We were flying off without her! I tried to spot her in the arena, but I didn't see anything. It had already turned upside down.
We all heard a loud sound and started to feel heavier. The mech was running out of fuel.
We coughed because of the smoke as gravity pulled us closer to the ground, until we finally landed.
Everyone was lying down, but thankfully they were safe.
"NYA!" I shouted as loud as I could. I looked around. Nothing.
"Kai?" I heard a faint call just a few meters away.
There she was. Finally.
She was lying on the ground as well, and her helmet had fallen off her head. Her suit was kind of rusty and torn, and I could even see some gears scattered around.
I didn't wait another second before I ran up to her and hugged her.
She hugged me back, even tighter. "I'm so, so sorry..." She was whimpering a bit.
"It's okay... It was my fault too," I sighed. "How did you get out of the arena?"
"A good Samurai always brings an extra jetpack," she chuckled. "And girl power."
I laughed too, before noticing everyone behind us. All with their jaw dropped, all speechless.
"So that means you're moving in with us?" Cole said.
"I don't know... We still have to take care of the shop..." She sighed.
"We'll figure that out later... Now we'll help you pack your stuff," I smiled.
"Ooh! I can help!" Jay raised his hand and grinned. Nya giggled with a slight blush on her face. Heart eyes already, huh?
"I'll inform Sensei Wu," Zane smiled.
"Thanks guys... And sorry," she said. "Lloyd," she turned to him. She got up and hugged him tightly. "Are you okay?"
"Now I am," he said. "Thanks, sis."
Sis?! "Hey, get your own sister!" I said.
"Well, she cares about me more than you do," he stuck his tongue out.
"I don't mind having a little sister," Cole raised his hand.
"Me neither," Zane did the same.
Jay stayed silent.
I approached her and sighed. "I love you, sis..."
"Love you too, porcupine..." She hugged me and held back a laugh, while everyone else did the same.
Well then, I forgot that having family also gives you the amazing perk of embarrassing things being revealed.
Let's see how that will go...
Hope you enjoyed this little story peeps :D
