Chapter Three
So I really wanted this book to only shift between Kai and Nya's POV, but the plot wouldn't allow it, so enjoy some Jay POV and Third POV. But that means some more Jaya so I don't think you'll mind 😉.
(Also, sorry if it gets confusing with all those POV switches XP.)
Enjoy!
Third POV
"Kai, wait-" Jay reached out to him, but Zane stopped him.
"Don't," he put his arm in front of Jay, seeing Kai walk off.
Even Cole tried to stop him, only to be pushed away by Kai. He stormed back inside the Monastery, slamming the door behind him.
Jay tried to go after him, but Cole was the one to stop him his time. He grabbed his shoulder, turning him around and cornering him with Zane next to him.
"Explain," was all he said behind gritted teeth.
Jay gulped seeing the two much taller-and muscular, in the case of Cole-Ninja tower above him, shrinking further into the wall.
He took a deep breath. "So you see I was patrolling the city as usual because it was my turn- well, it was technically yours but whatever, and then I saw the Serpentine attack a pretty girl so I saved her and then she asked me to show her the Monastery but when I said no she hit me with the puppy eyes and then she was apparently Kai's sister and- now you're mad at me..."
Zane sighed, and Cole facepalmed. "You brought a stranger here because she was pretty?!" Cole threw his arms in the air, shouting.
Jay raised his hands in defense. "You weren't there to see her puppy eyes!" He said. "Besides, she's not a stranger, she's Kai's sister..." He mumbled under his breath.
"Which we've never met before and never even knew about," Zane added, folding his arms. He was scarier as a human rather than as a robot, really.
"Well, let's go talk to Kai then," Jay started walking again, only to be pulled back by his shirt.
"We've done enough. Let's just give him some time," Cole sighed, looking worried at the door.
They all sighed, and continued with their training. Only this time, there would be only three still standing.

One week later
Jay's POV
A week had passed after I brought Kai's sister here. I know it was technically my fault, but he shouldn't have ignored her. He wouldn't be alone protecting her, there would be not one, but four trained Ninja ready to defend her. I've played enough video games to know that protecting the princess is a hero's job.
But before I get too sappy, back to Kai. He hasn't been the same ever since that day. He wouldn't even come out of his room. He came out only to eat, go to the bathroom, that type of stuff. And he won't talk to us either. So much for sharing a room with him.
He would train, but only at night. And Sensei Wu wasn't strict towards him either, he just let him do what he wanted. Maybe he felt responsible too, who knows.
"Jay?" Zane snapped his fingers to pop my thought bubble.
I looked down at my plate. Dinner was ready, and it was Cole's turn to cook. Great...
Well, it wasn't exactly dinner. We were eating it, but it was still dusk. It's another one of those diets Sensei has been showing us.
"Tuna with boiled vegetables along with my famous tofu soup," Cole smiled as he served us all. You mean notorious?
I looked at Kai in front of me. He had eaten it all already... What was that about? We made eye contact, but he ignored me, grabbed another plate and headed back to our room, looking at his phone.
Sensei got up as well and followed Kai, leaving us alone in the room.
"So... What now? Something's very wrong with him," I said.
Zane nodded in agreement. "Yes, his stress level is high. His digestive system was also able to tolerate Cole's food, which is a bad sign..." I couldn't help but laugh, but when I went for a high five, Zane didn't get the joke.
"Haha, very funny. But I think I have a plan." Now he got all our attention.
"So if she doesn't want Kai to come to her, then we'll bring her to Kai," he explained.
I didn't get it at first, but thank the First Spinjitsu Master for Zane. "We will not kidnap her."
"What?! Are you out of your mind?!" I yelled when I realized what was going on. We were both shooting daggers at Cole, who didn't seem to be bothered by the idea.
"Well, do you have any better ideas?" He crossed his arms, raising a brow.
We were both speechless, really. I tried to think up of another solution. Maybe I could just talk to her. I mean, we know each other, right? She trusts me! How could she not trust me?
"How about I just talk to her? You know, like normal people do."
Zane nodded in agreement, and Cole seemed to be okay with it too. "Do you know where she lives?" He asked me.
Oh. Well, I don't remember Kai mentioning where he came from. Come on Jay, think...
"Oh! Ignacia!" I blurted out. "She told me on the way here. The village's small, it can't be that complicated to find her!"
Cole sighed. "Fine then. Go tell Sensei we'll go patrolling. Zane and I are going to get our dragons."
I smiled and nodded quickly, running towards Sensei's room.

Nya's POV
Bolts, check. Spray paint, check. Extra snacks, check. Yup, got everything from Jamanakai. Thank goodness we had so many supplies. The suit is basically done, I just need to finish the helmet and well... paint it. It's already black, so some gold and red might do. They're pretty good colors.
As much as I loved shopping, the bags were really heavy. Adding to the fact that it was a really hot day today, yeah. No way I could survive this.
A strong gust of wind almost knocked me over, but I was too tired to even check where it came from. The shop was closed, but our front door wasn't. I kicked it open as I tried to carry everything on the table. My Samurai suit was right in front of the door, so I'm pretty cramped in here.
I heard the door creak, but it wasn't the wind this time. It was a person, most likely. I rushed to the door, basically closing it in their face.
"The sign says closed, you know," I said in my nicest tone behind gritted teeth.
I only heard a wince of pain come from the other side. "It's me." Wait, I know that voice.
"Jay? What are you doing here?" I opened the door, smiling. "Sorry about your nose by the way," I said as he rubbed the bridge of his nose, telling me it's okay. Well done Nya, breaking people's noses.
"So..." He said.
"So?"
"Please come back to Kai!" He blurted out, basically pleading me as he cupped his arms desperately.
I heard a clap right after, or maybe a facepalm. Probably a facepalm, but where was it coming from?
"Nice job Jay. Real smooth," the Black Ninja came from the side. I tilted my head, seeing the white one as well.
I gave them a small wave but only the white one did, with an innocent smile spreading across his face.
I turned my attention back to Jay, who sighed in defeat. "I- We came here to tell you this. Kai is wrecked without you! Please, forgive him."
"He should have thought about that before leaving me alone here," I rolled my eyes.
"Now you're just being a jerk," the Black Ninja countered, glaring at me.
"Yeah right, you didn't know I existed until a week ago. Mind your own business," I said and starting closing the door, Jay quickly grabbing it to stop me.
"Nya, Kai is truly sorry. If you just let us explain-" The white one tried to reason, like that was gonna get him far.
"Just go," I said, pushing Jay's hand out of the way and closing the door on them.

Jay's POV
"Okay, now we kidnap her," Cole growled, Zane shushing him by putting a finger over his mouth.
"Maybe she was just having a bad day-" I started, but he cut me off again.
"Forget bad days. Nobody says mind your own business to the Earth Ninja," he said a little too loud, probably wanting her to hear.
I sighed, looking at him and Zane with pleading eyes. But they were both on board with the plan, so my only option was to go with it.
He had already brought a sack with him?! Gee, so much for being the leader, Cole. You go on and on about saving ladies with Kai but nooo, one of them annoys you and you're totally okay with kidnapping her.
"Come on, get in your suits," he told us and we spun around, doing Spinjitsu. I still feel kinda dizzy every time I do it, but hey, I get a cool blue outfit. Maybe Nya likes blue too? I'll ask her later, if she still wants to talk to me, that is.
"Okay, we'll wait a few hours, then we'll go," Zane said.
I simply nodded, sighing in defeat.
The hours went by quickly, and we kept hearing weird sounds coming from the shop. Since Kai told us the whole story with Garmadon and Nya, it's good that we're out here. We'll easily prevent any bad guy from kidnapping her again, even though we're kinda doing the same thing...
"Jay!" Cole whisper yelled, gesturing for me to come. He showed me an open window, and Zane was already inside.
I got in as well, pulling my mask up.
The shop was small, luckily, and since it was a house too it'd be even easier to find her.
Sure enough, we found a small room with just one bed inside. Nya was sleeping, that's for sure.
I tiptoed, and the others walked slowly towards her, Cole pulling out the sack from before.
She didn't even notice us entering, she was just curled up in her sheets like a cute bunny. Why do I follow Cole's plans again?
"Jay!"
Oh, right. He said that a little too loud, loud enough for her to wake up. We didn't even let her scream before Cole put the sack over her, making me feel guiltier than ever. I just hope they forgive us...

Nya's POV
What the? Where am I? Am I... Moving? Am I in a sack?!What the-
"I still don't think this is a good idea."
"Come on, they'll be thanking us later."
Wait... I know that voice...!
I kicked whatever was in front of me, and there it was. That wince of pain I recognized from before.
"Jay..." I hissed. "If that's you, I swear-"
There was a slight pause, but he eventually spoke, in a different voice.
"Who is this Jay you're speaking of? I am just a simple mailman, delivering you to your brother."
I growled, and kept hitting his back to at least get me out of this stupid sack. Of all people, Kai put him to kidnap me, let alone carry me up the Monastery's stairs? That Black Ninja really isn't the greatest of friends.
Sure, I felt sorry for hitting him, but he was the one who started it by kidnapping me in my sleep.
Eventually I felt like we were on normal ground. We had arrived, huh...
I kept punching his back and eventually, I think I managed to knock him over, or at least make him trip. I fell to the ground next to him, and with enough pushing, I managed to get out of that darn sack.
And there they were, the black and white ninjas staring between me and Jay, who rubbed his shoulder in pain. And sure enough, Kai and that old man showed up.
"You put them to kidnap me?!" I yelled at him, throwing my arms in the air.
He looked equally as surprised as the old man. "What- No I didn't!" He turned to the others. "What the heck did you do?"
"We just wanted to help-" The white one started, but I cut him off before Kai could.
"Well, you've done enough," I said. I glared at Kai, shaking my head. "I don't care whose fault it is, stay away from me."
I stormed off, opening the first door I found and entering it. Since I was on the inside, I didn't really know where to go. But I certainly didn't expect to find a kid playing video games on his bed.
He looked at me, yawning. "Who are you?" He said, and came closer when I didn't respond.
I would probably cry if I spoke, so I held back tears and sat there.
"Oh. I know who you are," he said. "I know how it feels like. Being abandoned by your family."
I looked to him, but still didn't speak. He must've been the kid Jay was telling me about, not that it mattered now.
He opened his room's large window. "You can escape through here if you want. Flame is on the other side, she'll take you home."
Now he got my attention. I went up to him and hugged him, thanking him. "You're brave." I said, my voice trembling a little.
I got out the window and ran to the stables. Ignacia, here I come.
Hope you enjoyed!
C ya!
