Chapter 5
"It's been so long since i was last here and yet...i can still remember everything as if it happened in yesterday...everything looks the same." Boo stated. turning her head this way and that as the busy city lights grasped a hold of her attention. The city was much like her own with cars and buildings and streets and yet...it was all so different at the same time!
Monsters, from every walk of life, populated these very familiar roads, each a different shape and size and colour, seeming to be so friendly as they waved hello to the girl, smiling a toothy grin as "Kitty" and Mike lead her around, showing her places she had never seen before and introducing her to monsters she'd never met.
"Kitty? where are we headed?" Boo decided to finally ask after wondering about the puzzling thought for a while, she waved to another passing monster as she asked this, looking up at her blue friend.
"Uh...call me Sully..." "Sully" said hesitantly as Boo nodded in understanding.
"Of course." she replied.
"To answer your question," Mike piped up in a matter of fact tone, "We are taking you to one of the BEST restaurants in the city! You're lucky to be here on one of it's least busiest days! Otherwise we'd probably be waiting for a while but while you met Ms Friznak, I booked a table for three online!" Sully pet his friend on the head in a rather proud fashion.
"Well, that's great!" Boo exclaimed eagerly as the trio made their way across a deserted street, "How far is this place you are dying to show me?"
"Right here!" Sully announced as he pushed open a glass door with an "open" sign on the front.
"Um Sully...It says "pull"..." Boo giggled lightly as Sully grinned sheepishly.
"Of course." was his response as Mike face palmed embarrassed.
"Can't even enter a door without screwing up." he mumbled just loud enough for Boo to hear, causing a silent fit of giggles to escape her lips. As the three managed to enter the door, they made their way to the front desk, awaiting the waitress who would guide them to the cosy table at the back corner with a singular large window to look outside of.
Once, seated, it was a matter of ordering something which Boo figured would be edible with her dietary requirements. But that didn't happen as easily as she expected it to be. The menus were placed in front of each of them, plastic and shiny and in all their glory of what a menu should be.
"What should we have for this special occasion?" Mike asked the others, skimming the plastic, word covered page.
"Ie strudel?" Boo asked hesitantly, "like... as in "eye"?"
"What's that?" Sully asked, peering over his menu to look at the black printed words that his human friend were pointing towards. "Ie strudel?" He shrugged lightly, "Eh it's probably a new item. Oh but the tentacle soup sounds nice..." he muttered, flicking the pages quickly in desire of finding a reference photo.
"See anything you like?" Mike asked, blinking.
"Um..." Boo read the names of the foods, her head spinning at the obscure titles. "This one looks nice- the Al-"
"RUN!" Someone screamed abruptly, cutting the entire restaurant into silence.
The door was busted down as Boo jumped to her feet, "What on Earth-"
"IM BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER!" A voice very familiar and eerie shot shivers down the trio's spines, well, Sully and Boo's definitely, Boo wasn't to sure if Mike had a spine since he was just a head with arms and legs.
And before anyone could process anything, chaos presumed, tables, chairs, foods and bodies went flying in every direction you could think of, monsters running in fear of something unbeknown to the three who stood like waiting ducks at their table.
"What's going on?" Mike yelled above the screeched of paranoia.
"I don't-" Boo ignored whatever Sully had to say as her eyes widened in the dreading horror that HE was in the restaurant with them.
"He's here..." she mumbled to herself, "HE'S HERE!" She repeated, yelling just loud enough for her friends to hear.
"Who is?!" Sully asked, dreading the answer he knew would come.
"Randal." The girl whispered and even though no one could hear a thing, Sully and Mike knew who she had attempted to speak of.
And then she felt a pair of arms grab a hold of her, twisting her body to see there was no one there. He was invisible.
She screamed as her body was jerked away from the ground and carried away, Boo could only watch as Sully and Mike attempted to push through the crowd to save her.
But to no avail, they were thrown back. Boo screamed and quickly kicked her legs, trying to bite whatever held her prisoner. Her eyes where squeezed shut as her hands were bound together along with her feet.
She opened her mouth to yell once more but was met with the taste of an old rag, her mouth and voice muffled by the fabric as it was tied securely around her head.
"NO NO NO!" She tried to scream as she was thrown roughly into what she believed was a van.
"Shut it, no one can hear you anyways." Randal spoke harshly, shutting the door with a forceful bang, the darkness enclosing around Boo's body, swallowing her form whole.
