Introduction

My name is Dipper Pines. No that is not my actual name but that doesn't matter right now. I'm just your normal preteen trying to survive the last year before the terrifying Hell that will be high school. My twin sister Mabel seems excited though, but she got her idea of what it's like from musicals and movies, while I toured one and saw the daily horrors teachers turn a blind eye to. High school looks like another battlefield to me, a new war just waiting for me to sign up and slowly die in. Not like I'm already in a hellhole as it is. Bushy state school is the hell pit I'm already in, where kids take bullying to a whole new level. Where you can spend hours bullying poor defenseless kids and teachers act like nothing's wrong, life here is just GREAT. Notice the sarcasm.

I mean, at first it was tolerable. I always had Mabel there to help me through it, and we were inseparable. Then she started making more friends as time went on, and I became a bigger target as the other options thinned out. Some parents saw the signs and moved away from here, others homeschooled their kids. Yeah, it was that bad in some cases. Now I've always got to watch my back when I sprint through the halls from class to class. You never know when you might be ambushed in what I like to call, "no man's land." The hallways during switching time are a free-for-all, the teacher busy prepping for their next classes or cleaning up after their last, the perfect time to jump someone. I personally like to hide in the Janitor's closet when it gets too intense, or when someone else is getting the hit for that day.

My partner in hiding is Carrie, a black haired girl with a beautiful emerald green eye. Thats right I said eye, two years ago Carrie was blinded in one eye from a kid tripping her. As a result she fell into a sharp corner of a desk causing her partial blindness. If that wasn't bad enough, Carrie's mother is an insane Christian. After finding out about Carrie's eyes she locked Carrie in a closet with the bible for two days. Carrie always wore jeans and a long sleeved black t-shirt. She pretty much went to the same horror story as me, and we got along, helping each other with bandaids and our nightmares. Her first day in grade three was the first time she was called UGLY and from then on she was bullied. We were both moved to the back of class by the teacher after being sucked into a tidal wave of spit balls. But no matter what we had each other. To me she was like a big sister and I was her big brother.

But even with the two of us supporting each other, we could only take so much. I noticed the thin lines on her arms and she saw the gagged ones on mine. I was a whole lot more careful with hiding them than actually making them, and she was more concerned with the actual cuts than if people saw them. Nonetheless we kept going and helped each other make up lies and excuses in case anyone saw them. Though no one had actually tried to kill themselves yet, we constantly planned out ways to do it in the safety of the Janitor's closet. Our minds get dark after a really bad beating. And yet even with everything we do, no one lets up, no one snitches, no one notices how shattered we are. We just fall apart and glue ourselves crudely back together once they turn their backs. But enough about that, let's talk more about Mabel. Mabel is really popular and has tons of friends, and none of them like me! They even deliberately make her spend more time with them so that she can't spend any time with me. I guess I should be kind of thankful. If Mabel was constantly around she would notice how strange I've been acting. Her boyfriend is also the lead bully, he's also on almost every sports team there is. It's been getting harder to see she was once a bottom feeder like me.

It only got worse from there. Before I got into the mess and hell of school I started to get nightmares, and no these weren't your ordinary 'Oh look a killer clown!' or 'Oh look vashta nerada!'. No. My nightmares like to torment me. I remeber one dream I had where I watched my family slowly burn and scream, that wasn't the worst part. Oh no. The worst part was when I watched. And E N J O Y E D I T . Sometimes I wake up in a cold sweat, screaming and waking everyone up. My parents started to notice, then people knew it was bad. Mom and Dad. Oh how do I put this nicely, they don't notice a lot about me. Mabel's their golden child. I'm just the mistake, the kid that was never supposed to happen. Hell, they never even wanted to have twins! All they wanted was a perfect little girl to call their own, and they keep telling me this over and over. So when they notice something wrong with me, it's because I interrupt their precious sleep, they took me to doctors who took me to therapists. The therapists just gave me medicine and didn't even seem to care about anything I said. To be fair, I lied about most of the nightmares. I didn't want them to label me as schizophrenic or something so I toned them down a bit. That may be why the pills do almost nothing.

But my life isn't all bad, there was a time when Mabel and I were closer than ever. I don't know what changed. Maybe it was just fate trying to screw us over, or something else. The point is that my life has gone downhill very quickly. I think I've got you up to speed, but what came after was much, much worse......
