Chapter Eighteen
Third POV Limited
I'm back! I'm so sorry- I was away at camp and then this app was freezing all the time, I couldn't get anything done (and the app is still giving me problems). Then, of course, I went to a different site to read instead- and found some freaking awesome books! Anyway, I'm done with most of them and I'm back now, so I'm going to try and get back into updating. I apologize to all of you waiting and those who have now lost interest. And I posted this around an hour ago by accident, I literally had tears in my eyes, I was so sorry, I had just wanted to update this chap- luckily, I updated anyway, so we're just going to say it was a technical difficulty. Ciao!
Harry woke up with a sigh, freezing when he felt silk sheets against his bare skin. Harry tried to remember why he was there, but couldn't think of what happened the day before. Thinking for a few more minutes- and getting more frustrated as he did, finally all of what happened came to Harry's mind and he groaned. Why did his life have to be so messed up? Why did he have to mess everything up? It was always his fault. No wonder his mates only wanted to use him sexually; how else could he possibly make them happy? Something tingled in the back of his mind, remembering the color of love in their auras yesterday, how they were genuinely sad when he was in the forest, and Tom's actual self-anger. Harry sniffled as he rubbed at his eyes, getting rid of the tears. He would have to see how they felt when they woke up, if they weren't already. Harry whimpered to himself in despair and got up from the comfy bed, hoping his mates weren't being controlled by his siren's song anymore. He didn't want to be used and forgotten- he wanted to love his mates, and be loved in return. Remembering the baby goblins' reassurances, Harry quickly got redressed in his clothes from yesterday, knowing any other clothes would be way too big for him. Mustering up any Gryffindor bravery he could find, Harry walked to where he thought the kitchen was. Of course, this landed with him in the library, because Harry could not, for the life of him, understand this manor. Harry sighed and turned around, only to come face to faces with Kingki, Kane, and Kumasi. Harry quickly bent down and picked them up, surprised by their appearance. "What are you guys doing here?" Kane gave a hissing laughter while Kumasi and Kingki scented the air. "Why, we were looking for you, my Lord. Why are you in the library so early today?" Harry groaned and roughly sat down, pouting. "I was trying to go to the kitchen to make some breakfast, but I still don't know my way around." Kumasi gave his version of a smile, which was baring his fangs, while Kingki looked behind them, down the hall. "We can show you the way, my Lord. We can remember where we smelled food, though Kumasi and Kingki only saw a door." Harry's pout flashed to a smile as he looked at his little friends in happiness. "That'd be amazing! Would you please lead the way?" Harry gently set down his three-headed snake guide. "Of course, my Lord." Humming happily, the emotionally-unstable submissive followed after his snake friends while certain mysterious noises came from three locked rooms around the manor, not that Harry noticed, after all, he was quite happy.
After about five minutes of walking down twisting hallways, Kingki, Kane, and Kumasi finally stopped in front of closed double doors. Harry smiled, smelling the fading scent of food. It must have been from his mates' dinners last night. As though reminding him of his recent lack of food, Harry's stomach played a dangerous little tune, warning its host of what happens when you don't eat after a while. Harry giggled and decided to make him and his mates some breakfast, maybe a nice batch of pancakes. Saying goodbye to his traveling snake friends, the submissive once again began to hum, composing a conflicting piece of tranquility and danger, like that of a rose or fresh-fallen snow. As Harry followed the long, memorized instructions from his Aunt Petunia's cooking book, he created young soldiers with the eating utensils, forts and weaponry out of the napkins, and bases made of plates on the counter beside him. A wonderfully tragic war was to take place with a lonely heart stuck in the middle. A thing of such beauty, neither side saw the warnings given by their desire, for it was not something to be used. The lonely heart had been happy with the peace of before, but it was clear the flame had been kindled, there was no extinguishing it now. So it convinced itself it would continue to stay away from the whole controversy, for it loved all, and the others would surely not accept like this. One side fought for the destruction of the other, while it's opposed fought for the equality shoved in the shadows by the first. Finally, too filled with lies, the lonely heart closed itself off, and chose the path of destruction. Until it's ears were finally forced to hear the hard chimes of truth- the things that could not possibly be changed for they just, were. The heart, finally free of its misconceptions, doubted itself once again, for who would willingly take something so weak? For a war effort, they would need someone strong, beautiful, firm in their standings. Who would want a washed up, misunderstood, broken heart to fight for them? As the tune was slowing down, and Harry was close to finishing the pancakes, a pair of comforting, warm arms encircled Harry's chest, causing him to squeak and the battle scene return to normal. Pulled against Severus' chest, Harry involuntarily relaxed as Severus nuzzled one of Harry's ears. "You're wrong, karus. We love you for you, along with all of your cute little quirks." Harry blushed as he realized what karus meant in Latin. Severus had called him precious, beloved, dear, and valued all in one word. "Thanks." Harry squeaked again as Severus kissed the side of his head and let go, hobbling over to make himself a pot of coffee. Harry smiled to himself and finished off the last pancake, keeping two plates on the counter while he brought the other two to the large table in the large connected room. Inside, he saw a sleepy Draco and Tom already there. Blushing in embarrassment, Harry put down his and Severus' helpings and quickly murmured an apology while rushing back to the kitchen for the other two plates. Harry was immensely relieved as he set down Tom and Draco's plates to realize that his mates were no longer affected by the pull of his other side. Draco frowned as Harry sat down away from him, not pleased that his mate was almost sitting on the complete opposite side of the long table that he was. Showing his displeasure, Draco grabbed his plate and plopped down next to Harry, laying his head on his mate's shoulder. Harry blushed, but ignored it to timidly rub Draco on the back. A content moan left Draco's lips, causing Tom to stare at him, a slight chartreuse color tinting his aura while Draco gained a slight light gray color to his. As Severus came back through with two cups of coffee, looking much more awake, his aura also gained a chartreuse tint. Putting the other cup of coffee in front of Draco, Severus chose to sit on the other side of Harry, smirking vindictively at Tom who smiled, rolled his eyes, and rose from his seat, also coming over to sit next to Draco, playfully wacking him on the head. Draco whined as the chartreuse and gray tints disappeared from their auras, so Harry marked them down as jealousy and smug satisfaction, also noting that his mates apparently loved back rubs. Harry took a bite of his pancakes and smiled to himself. Maybe his mates would love him after all...
