"Kookie, I told you, this party is going to be awesome." Taehyung pulled his hood over his head as he and Jungkook walked down a street in a near by neighbourhood.
Taehyung had been invited to a party by one of his old friends that he hadn't seen in what felt like years. From what Jungkook had heard Tae's friend had said it would be an unforgettable party, and with Tae's one track mind he immediately knew he had to go. He was allowed to take one friend and that's why Jungkook was tailing behind him, walking down the street.
"Are you sure we're not too early?" Jungkook asked sceptically as he glanced at the sky, it was already growing dark and the streetlights were faintly glowing against the setting clouds. From Jungkook's knowledge of parties, he'd assumed they started late at night.
"Trust me," Taehyung turned around, holding the drawstrings of his hoodie while walking backwards, "This party has probably been going on for hours. If anything we're late."
Jungkook consciously tugged at the sleeves of his sweater. He'd never been the type to go partying and would much prefer to be at home sleeping or playing video games. "How'd you know?"
"Kookie, I've been to my fair share of parties." Taehyung slowed his pace until he was walking beside Jungkook, "Just stick by my side if you're scared." Tae slapped Jungkook's back slightly before striding ahead again.
Tae turned around a corner before Jungkook realised what he'd said. "Hey! I'm not scared." He ran to catch up to Taehyung.
Once he'd turned the corner he plowed into a back, which he identified to be Tae's. Jungkook was about to say something on the lines of 'why'd you stop?', when he followed Tae's gaze.
Standing in front of them was one of the biggest houses Jungkook had ever set sight on. It was white on the outside and colourful lights were being displayed on the front. People were randomly scattered around the front lawn holding plastic cups, with what Jungkook could only assume to be at least tainted with alcohol.
Taehyung slowly turned around, a massive smile spread over his face. "C'mon, let's go."
Tae started walking again and Jungkook was again left trying to catch him up. "Tae, wait-"
"Ah! It's Taehyung!" Jungkook stopped in his footsteps as he saw a muscular guy walk up to Tae. He bumped shoulders with Tae and slapped his back.
"Oh, hey!" Tae said trying to look bigger than he was. "This party is a big turn up." Tae glanced around and the guy followed his look.
"As expected, didn't I tell you it would be unforgettable?" The guy smirked as he watched the vast majority of people jumping to the heavy beat music.
So, this is Tae's old friend.
"Oh, this is Jungkook." Jungkook was broke out of his trance when he heard his name. He slightly cursed as he saw the other guys head turn in his direction. Jungkook didn't want to admit it but he felt slightly intimidated by this guy.
"Ah, I've heard a lot about you." The guy walked over and held out his hand which Jungkook put his hand into and shook it.
"Yeah, same." He lied, he'd truthfully never heard of him until earlier that day.
"Well, have a good time, alright- Hey! What are you doing to my lawn?" The guy walked off as he saw someone throwing up into the bushes.
"Let's go." Tae bit his lip and started making his way up the stairs to the door into the building.
"Wait, isn't this a bit dodgy to you at all?" Jungkook called after him.
"What was that? I can't hear you." Tae stepped inside into the mass of bodies. Before Jungkook could reach the entrance, Tae was nowhere to be seen.
"Tae?" Jungkook questioned as he walked into the room with thumping music. He looked through the crowds but couldn't see the hooded boy. "Tae!" Fear creeping into his voice.
Jungkook definitely didn't like the situation he was in at the moment. Tae had said that everything would be okay is he'd stayed by his side, maybe Jungkook was a little scared.
Jungkook took a deep breath before he took one step into the crowd. People were rubbing up against him, people that were too drunk to even acknowledge where they were.
"Tae-"
"Here, have a drink." A random guy that Jungkook had never seen before, shoved a plastic cup into his hand. Jungkook hesitantly lifted it to his nose, the smell burning his nose. He pushed his way through the crowd dropping his glass on a near by table.
He stood there awkwardly for around 15 mins. A few people came up to him asking if he wanted drinks which he'd decline nicely, some girls tried to talk, but he wasn't interested. He just wanted to find Tae.
Jungkook was looking off into the distance when he saw a hooded figure walk down one of the many corridors.
Tae.
Jungkook started following him down the corridor. He walked to the end of the corridor when he saw a couple smashed up against the wall, kissing vigorously. He backed up not bothering to go down that corridor.
30 mins had gone and Jungkook decided to wait outside, it was better than staying inside anyway. The cold air hit him as he set of the grass. Jungkook had no idea where Tae was and he felt worried for him.
45 mins gone and Tae had still not come outof the building. Jungkook was leaning on his hand, his eyes starting to close. It was passed midnight and he felt tired, he just wished Tae would come out-
"Kookie!"
Jungkook's eyes flew open as he heard his name. He turned around and saw Tae stumbling down the lawn to reach him. Jungkook got to his feet and rushed over to him. "Where have you been?! You left me-"
"Shhh." Tae put his fingers over Jungkook's lips.
"Are you drunk right now?" Jungkook tugged on his hair.
"A little." Tae giggled and Jungkook grabbed his hand pulling him out the entrance of the party.
"Let's go. We're getting a hotel."
"Hey!" Tae slurred tripping over his feet as he followed behind Jungkook.
After a couple of minutes of walking, Tae was practically sleeping on his shoulder. "Tae, wake up." Jungkook shook his shoulder and carried on waking. Across the road was a hotel and Jungkook couldn't wait to book a room.
He entered the building with a drunk Tae on his shoulder and headed for the front desk. "Could I have a room for the night, please?"
After a struggle of pulling Tae up the stairs Jungkook finally made it to their room. "C'mon Tae, just a few more steps until we're inside." He glanced at Tae who was staring at him with wide eyes. Jungkook put the pass card in and the door swung open.
Jungkook pulled Tae inside by his hand. The door closed behind him and he felt a tug on his hand. Tae flung him up against the door and stood in front of him, their chests touching. Jungkook's breath hitching. He didn't have a clue as to what was going on. "Tae-"
Taehyung pressed his lips to Jungkook's, pushing him into the door. Jungkook's eyes were wide open as he watched his best friend attack his lips. His heart was beating like crazy. He knew this wasn't right, but he couldn't bring himself to pull away.
Without thinking Jungkook closed his eyes and joined in the kiss. Tae backed away and Jungkook followed him, his hands reaching for Tae's hair, pulling the hood down. Tae's hands were around Jungkook's hips, balancing himself against him.
Jungkook could hear Tae's quick breath in his ear as he pushed him against one of the tables in the room. That's when Jungkook realised what was happening. He realeased his hold of Tae's hair and stepped back. Tae looked at him, holding his hands out for more.
"Kookie-"
"Let's go to bed." Jungkook said abruptly pulling back the covers to one of the beds.
"If that's what you want." Tae walked over, his eyes drooping with tiredness as he climbed under the covers. Jungkook tucked him in calmly even though he couldn't believe what had happened a few minutes earlier.
Jungkook was just about to get into his bed when Tae grabbed his hand. "Stay with me." He said with his eyes closed. Jungkook just nodded and sat on the side of his bed.
"Kookie... I'm sorry." Tae said sleepily, too drunk to know what he was saying, "I'm shameful. I shouldn't like my best friend..."
Jungkook inhaled sharply.
"Don't leave me." Tae turned on his side so that he was facing Jungkook. "I like you too much for you to leave. Please stay."
Jungkook hesitantly lifted his hand and stroked Tae's hair behind his ear, not believing what was happening. Tae's hand finally went slack in his hand signalling that he was asleep.
"I won't leave. Ever." Jungkook pressed his lips to his temple before letting go of his hand and walking over to his bed. He slipped under the covers and pulled them up to his chin.
It took him a long time to sleep that night, thoughts making it hard for him to find rest. All he could keep thinking was.
He's not going to remember anything tomorrow.
Along with,
Drunk words speak the truth.
