"BubblePaw!" A grey and creamy she-cat woke in a start when she heard her name being called. She heaved to her paws and groomed her messy fur then called, "I'm coming!", as she finished grooming her fur, she leap on to her paws and padded out of the den.

The sun shined brightly as she picked her way through to the cat who called her, "At last." The tom growled. BubblePaw looked at her mentor apologetically, "Sorry DarkMind. I didn't sleep well last-" her words was barely finished when she was pinned on to the ground.

"Hey!" She mewed, trying to see who was holding her against the floor.

DarkMind sighed, his eyes shined with amusement, "Kits! Get off BubblePaw. She needs to start training," He let out a purr.

"Sorry, DarkMind!" It was NightKit's voice and SkyKit's. They both let the apprentice get onto her paws.

BubblePaw looked at her fur, it was messy again, "Great! I just cleaned my fur!" She sat down and groomed her fur flat.

A grey she-cat poked her head out of the nursery, "NightKit! SkyKit! There you are! Come back here and leave your father and BubblePaw alone!" Ivy mist called, DarkMind flicked his tail and nudged his kits with his paw towards the nursery, "Listen to your mother."

NightKit and SkyKit glanced at each other and sighed before racing towards their mother. BubblePaw looked at the kits. "They are nearly apprentices right?" she mewed to her mentor.

DarkMind nodded, "Yes..they are going to be apprentices next moon. Alright, enough standing around! Time to teach you some fighting moves!" He smiled as BubblePaw leapt into the air with excitement.

"I can't believe it! BubblePaw, acting like a kit!" a voice in the apprentice's ear made BubblePaw turn, it was her father LarkHeart, behind him were WhiteStar, the leader and SnowLeaf, the medicine cat.

WhiteStar purred while SnowLeaf was rolling her eyes, "Honestly BubblePaw! You were supposed to act like a warrior. Not a kit!" the medicine cat scolded.

"Sorry!" BubblePaw squeaked, her tail fluffed up with embarrassment, her eyes glittered with guilt.

"It's alright, BubblePaw. Ignore them two." White star touched the apprentice's head, "DarkMind, brother, you may take her away. After all, she did ask to wait a bit longer until she becomes a warrior." The leader sounded amused while the warrior stuck his tongue out.

"Come on, BubblePaw. Lets leave these fur balls. They think they can mess with us but lets make them think again!" DarkMind led his apprentice out of the camp. BubblePaw looked at her mentor, her eyes wide with enthusiasm.

"So! What moves? A back flip roll? An underbelly kick?" BubblePaw questioned quickly.

DarkMind's tail rested on BubblePaw's shoulder, "Shh, you will know soon."

As the two cats arrived at the sandy hollow. The warrior told the apprentice to stay where she was and he padded across the clearing and turned to face his apprentice. His blue eyes narrowed into slits and meowed, "Attack me."

BubblePaw crouched down, her eyes narrowed and shot towards him. Darting from one side to the other, the young grey-creamy apprentice slid under DarkMind and kicked him, making him fall. The dark warrior yelped, clearly unprepared for the attack and fell on to his side. BubblePaw then managed to pin her mentor down with one paw on his neck and one paw on his belly.

"Well done, BubblePaw! Your moves were so like a warrior. I'm sure LarkHeart would be proud if he saw you just now." Dark mind praised his apprentice.

BubblePaw ducked her head, feeling embarrassed for such compliment from her mentor. Her eyes shined with pride and happiness.

"I always wanted to ask you this," DarkMind began, making the apprentice look up in surprise, "-why didn't you become a warrior last moon, White star was about to make you one?"

BubblePaw thought for a minute and mewed, "Only because I felt bad for LeafPaw and it's not her fault that she couldn't become warrior. So I wanted to stay with her otherwise she would be all alone in the den." Then she added, "And I still wanted to train with you! You are like the best mentor in the whole clan! I'm proud to be your kin!"

DarkMind blinked, then swiped his paw over his apprentice's head, "Oh, shut up! Your embarrassing me."

BubblePaw grinned, "Yay! I embarrassed my mentor!" She laughed, making the dark warrior smile warmly.

"Wait, DarkMind. Can we do a hunting contest? I always wanted to compete with you. We can invite anyone to do with us!"

DarkMind thought for a second and nodded, "Want to compete against the leader and your father?"

BubblePaw's eyes flashed with disbelief, "Can I?" She squealed.

"Yeah!" DarkMind raced back to camp, BubblePaw was on his heels, "I'm so telling everyone!"

As the two cats arrived at camp, BubblePaw quickly padded around the camp to find her friends while her mentor went to find his siblings.

"OwlFeather! RippleHeart!" BubblePaw called, spotting her two best friends.

The brown warriors looked up, RippleHeart's face grew into a huge smile, "BubblePaw!" While OwlFeather looked at the apprentice with surprise.

"What's up?" RippleHeart asked.

"I bet you will be jealous!" BubblePaw laughed.

RippleHeart gasped, "No cat can make me jealous!"

"If you say so! Okay, DarkMind said i can compete with WhiteStar and LarkHeart and him in hunting!" BubblePaw spilled everything out.

OwlFeather and RippleHeart's eyes' were wide with shock and pride.

"Wow!" RippleHeart purred with happiness and pressed her muzzle against BubblePaw's.

"Wait, do you think LeafPaw can come? RussetFire has been a bit busy these past days so LeafPaw couldn't do any training." OwlFeather mewed to the apprentice, BubblePaw turned towards LeafPaw. She mewed her goodbye towards her friends and bounded towards the lonely apprentice.

"Hey LeafPaw!" BubblePaw called. The brown she-cat looked up in surprise, "Hi BubblePaw!" She purred.

"Want to come with me and hunt with WhiteStar, LarkHeart and DarkMind?" She asked eagerly, LeafPaw Gasped, "Hunting with the clan leader and her brothers? Hell yeah! I bet BearStrike will be jealous."

BubblePaw grinned, "Yeah!" LeafPaw laughed and padded over to her mentor, "Hey RussetFire! Can I go hunting with WhiteStar and BubblePaw?" She called.

The brown-like-red tom looked at his apprentice and nodded, "It will be a good experience for you. Go on." He mewed.

"Oh! Thank you!" LeafPaw purred and turned towards the entrance and followed her den-mate.

"DarkMind, WhiteStar and father. Can LeafPaw come? RussetFire said she could." BubblePaw mewed, her eyes wide, pleading.

The white leader dipped her head, "Of course she can and DarkMind, I hope you will do what you had promised." she added.

The dark warrior looked at his sister, "Are you doubting your clan-mate?" he sounded offended, WhiteStar rolled her eyes, "Of course not! Now come on, we are wasting day-light." She quickly padded out of camp, the four other cats glanced at each other before following.

"LeafPaw and BubblePaw, you go over there. Me, DarkMind and LarkHeart will hunt by the old two leg nest." The two apprentices nodded as their leader gave them instructions.

After WhiteStar and her two brothers left, BubblePaw looked around until she caught a scent.

"Hey LeafPaw! I found something. It smells like a mouse." The younger apprentice mewed.

The older apprentice padded over and sniffed the air, "Your right! Go and catch it, you found it."

BubblePaw nodded and crouched down, she stalked towards the mouse and leap on to it and bit it's neck, tasting it's warm flesh.

LeafPaw purred with approval, BubblePaw dropped her mouse and dug up dirt and buried it. BubblePaw jumped onto the tree stump and puffed her chest out, and looked up at the sky.

Something caught her eye, she looked down. A figure stood there, in the bushes and spoke the words she heard 13 moons ago, she gasped backing away, the words ringing in her ears, "Four odds must unite!"

She fell backwards and collapsed onto her side, feeling paralysed, she closed her eyes.

Leaf paw's POV

"BubblePaw!" LeafPaw wailed as she saw her friend collapse and rushed towards her.

A movement behind made her freeze, she spun around to see two amber eyes glaring at her. The figure stepped out, LeafPaw realized it was a fox. She yowled in pain as the fox lunged towards her, pining her down.

She screamed, trying to kick it off but it was too strong for her. LeafPaw shut her eyes, waiting for Star clan.

Star clan where are you? she thought, then the weight was lifted off her. She opened her eyes to see WhiteStar and DarkMind fighting furiously side by side, against the fox.

LarkHeart was beside her, and helped her up. "Thanks." LeafPaw breathed, the grey warrior looked worried, "What happened to BubblePaw?"

LeafPaw froze, "I don't know! She just collapsed. Right after she caught the mouse, she stood on the tree stump and looked at the sky then a few heart-beats later, she just fell backwards!"

LarkHeart's eyes widened and rushed towards his daughter, WhiteStar and DarkMind had chased the fox away and were padding towards her.

WhiteStar grunted and licked her wounds and DarkMind was looking out in case the fox comes back.

LarkHeart was crouching beside BubblePaw, licking her anxiously, "Oh, wake up BubblePaw!" DarkMind turned and padded towards his apprentice, he paused as he reached LeafPaw, "Help WhiteStar back to camp." He ordered before continuing towards his niece.

LeafPaw nodded and bounded over towards her leader, letting her lean on her shoulder. WhiteStar scoffed, "Did Dark mind told you to help me?"

The brown apprentice nodded, the white she-cat rolled her eyes, "Great star clan, since when did he become so protective?" She muttered.

"I heard that!" DarkMind called over his shoulder making WhiteStar sigh, "Of course he heard, he has the sharpest senses in the clan."

As they entered camp, RippleHeart and OwlFeather were on their paws instantly, "Where's BubblePaw? And why is WhiteStar hurt?" RippleHeart panted as she reached them.

"She...uh." LeafPaw, for once, was lost for words.

"She what?" OwlFeather demanded, his eyes huge with concern.

"Move over and let me see my sister!" A yowl made the two young warriors turn and back away.

"Thank you." The medicine cat muttered and stalked towards WhiteStar.

"Gee. Met the fox again?" SnowLeaf asked, glancing up at the white she-cat.

"Hell yeah, totally met the fox. Always have and always will." WhiteStar rolled her eyes, SnowLeaf purred and led her sister towards her den.

Sound of paw steps made LeafPaw turn to see LarkHeart and DarkMind. On DarkMind's back was the limp body of BubblePaw.

RippleHeart wailed when she saw BubblePaw's body, "What happened!?" She yowled in grief.

"She collapsed before the fox attack." LeafPaw muttered and slowly padded away, her tail trailing behind her.

RosePaw, who was sitting next to the concerned BearStrike, was smiling evilly. It made LeafPaw sick every time she looks at the creamy-pink she-cat.

"What are you smiling at?" The brown apprentice spat.

RosePaw, still smiling, turned towards her. "Oh. Because BubblePaw is hurt and why should i care for her?" she asked in a sweet-high-pitched voice.

LeafPaw growled at her before stalking into the apprentices' den.

"I really wish i could claw that smile off her face." She hissed loud enough for the clan to hear.

BearStrike flicked his ears with amusement when he heard her voice, "I hope you do." He called and left RosePaw, shooting her a disgusted look before settling beside TigerBlaze, who was glaring at the creamy-pink apprentice.

"I will support LeafPaw anytime." TigerBlaze muttered, "Me too." BearStrike mewed.

RosePaw's smile disappeared and snarled at the two toms before padded into the apprentices' den, "Uhg! Why are you in my nest?" RosePaw growled.

"Your nest?" LeafPaw gasped, "This nest has always been mine, it has my scent on it!"

"Not anymore!" RosePaw pushed Leaf paw off the moss and snatched it and threw it out of the den, replacing it with her nest.

LeafPaw's fur bristled, "I don't know why WhiteStar let in a fox-heart into this clan!" She snarled and stalked out.

She snatched her moss-bed and tore it apart then kicked it aside.

"I'm sick of that RosePaw!" She flicked her tail towards the den and padded off to the medicine cats' den.

BearStrike and TigerBlaze looked quite angry and approved when LeafPaw admitted her feelings about the apprentice.

"She is not even a clan cat!" BearStrike snarled, TigerBlaze nodded, "And she thinks she can order the apprentices around!" the dark brown tabby added.

RippleHeart and OwlFeather joined them, "I can't believe it! RosePaw, an outsider, thinking she is the leader!" the she-cat's claws dug into the earth.

"Like i said, I will always support LeafPaw, even if RosePaw is our clan mate, I just wished LeafPaw could scratch her face now. Then her beauty wouldn't charm anymore!" TigerBlaze grinned.

OwlFeather and BearStrike purred their agreement, while RippleHeart was gazing at the medicine cats' den.

"I just wish WhiteStar could just kick that idiot out our clan! No more problem then." RippleHeart sighed, leaning on TigerBlaze, who licked her ear gently.

"She will be warrior next moon." OwlFeather noted.

"No! I can't let her become warrior! Otherwise she will boss us around as well!" RippleHeart sprang on to her paws, complaining.

RosePaw padded out of the den, flicking her ears towards the warriors, "Hey OwlFeather!" She called, ignoring the three other cats.

"Rude!" RippleHeart hissed in her brother's ear, who flicked his tail in agreement.

LeafPaw stalked out, smiling as she padded across the clearing to join the warriors, BearStrike looked up, "Hey. Why you so happy?"

"Ha! Because WhiteStar did the best thing that could ever happen in my life!" She purred.

"What?" The warriors asked.

"She is going to delay RosePaw's ceremony and make mine instead!" LeafPaw squealed excitedly, but quietly so RosePaw couldn't hear.

The warriors purred, "When will she be a warrior?" TigerBlaze asked.

"Four moons time or maybe five!" She squeaked happily.

RippleHeart sighed in relief, OwlFeather and BearStrike were laughing and TigerBlaze was purring with LeafPaw.

"WhiteStar has to be like the best leader ever!" TigerBlaze mewed.

"I know right?" RippleHeart bounced up and down.

"Hey, when will she make Bubble paw's?" OwlFeather asked hesitantly, making LeafPaw looked at him in surprise.

"She will make her warrior at the same day as me!" LeafPaw blinked.

The two siblings glanced at each other, quite relieved. "It will be good to have BubblePaw in our den!" RippleHeart purred, OwlFeather nodded.

LeafPaw yawned, "I'm going to bed, WhiteStar said i can sleep next to BubblePaw since she knows that i am sick sharing the same den as RosePaw." She mewed her goodbye and padded back to the medicine cats den, then settled down beside BubblePaw.

LeafPaw looked around one last time and curled her tail over her nose and drifted away into the sleep.

Ha! RosePaw is apparently the most frustrating cat in the clan, even though she is normally nice and gentle, she is way less popular than BubblePaw and LeafPaw!
