I guess in the end
love's not my friend
it was just never meant to be
a hopeless escape
to set me free
temporarily.

Yet once reality struck me
I realized it was a dream;
a dream so bittersweet
that I'd grit my teeth
and wish I'd never thought
I was good enough for you
because deep down I know
that would never be true.

And so I wander again
a soul waiting to be regained
by someone who'd shower
love and care
over this soul full
