Zoe POV
The memories. They are always there to remind me that no matter what I will never be safe. I can go anywhere in the world, meet new people, learn more about the world...but that doesn't make me safe. That just makes me more vulnerable for trusting people.
They will always haunt me...and remind me what I was capable of. I have killed hundreds of innocent people in that hellhole of a place. A new torture method used to kill in every room. A test to see what fears the victim has so the way they die can better horrify them. I hate having to remember the screams. The pleas to live...all of the fear these things caused them. I hate living with myself.
But before I can kill myself...I need to make sure the other girls that are trapped there are safe...and that the downfall of the funhouse takes place.
I need to do this before I die. Those girls don't deserve what is being done to them...and the males are not deserving of any of the torture they are being given. This is why I am willing to trust these people I don't even know with something those serious. I don't even know any of them...I only know Maki because she found me on the side of the road holding a bandage over my eye and over my stomach. If she didn't find me when she did then I am positive I would be dead.
Then again...maybe being dead would be better than going back to that awful place. That's what I find concerning about all of this...I am dragging all of these people to the funhouse where they can possibly be killed or tortured until death. I feel awful while the other side of me feels vengeful against S. I need to make sure he gets killed...because he is a master at manipulating people. Everything that his co-leaders do and say as well as what they believe....is all because S was able to brainwash them to make them follow him.
It was horrible...it is horrible. Diego was a father of two daughters, but when he started talking to S he wasn't the same. Slowly his daughters were taken by S and his men while Diego became second in command. At the price of his family...and his mind.
...
"Okay Zoe I'm going out to get food with your father. Make sure you stay quiet and stay here." A mothers reassuring words calmed me down at that moment. God I wish I didn't just nod and obey her words...I should have gone after them. But I stayed there as my mother said. I sat there hiding in my hiding spot for about a day or so before I was becoming hungry and dehydrated.
"Where did they go?" I asked myself silently before I heard a banging on the door to the shelter I was in. It wasn't a knock like the one my parents would give me to let me know if it was them. I knew it was trouble...so I covered my mouth and hid in one of the small cupboards.
"I heard this woman and this man were parents~ So maybe their daughter is still in this shelter they were heading back to~" A voice cooed. In an instant I knew they were talking about my parents. I avoided the urge to cry knowing my parents didn't come home...because they were killed.
"Maybe we can use the little brat or even give her to S himself! He has been looking for a new executioner to train." Executioner? What do they mean by that...? It can't be good. I need to get out of here. No matter what I need to think of a plan and get the hell out of here before they find me.
"Oh little one~ Come out please~" A different voice called out to me. It sounded soothing, calm, and alluring. I couldn't resist going closer to it. Entranced by the voice I slowly opened the cupboard and walked out to see the group of men. They were all different people of all races and ages, but none of that mattered to me. I just wanted to find the man with the beautiful voice.
"Oh little one, I see you came out all for me." The man said with a charming smile. I felt a smile come to my own lips. I felt calm, I felt safe knowing that this man was here for me.
"Come here, don't let these men touch you, they just want to hurt you. Come to me and I'll keep you safe." His hushed tone made me feel more tired. LIke I was in a dream. At that moment nothing felt real anymore.
"Shh shh, it's okay now.." He whispered once more before I heard three gunshots as he held me in his arms and walked out the door. I don't remember anything that happened after that. All I remember is what I was when I woke up.

"Little one." I heard the same voice as reality soon came back to me. My head was pounding and my hands were shaking. I felt my arms, legs, and chest being restrained. "What the-" I questioned before I opened my eyes and focused on the man who spoke to me earlier.
"Good morning little one~" He smiled, making me frown a bit before my face almost manually formed a smile. I felt like there were some strings somewhere in the room that were making me act the way I am.
"No need to panic...I won't hurt you." He whispered before he moved over to me and lovingly touched my neck...and that's when I realized that there was a collar on my neck.
"You are my personal pet so your life will be mine now..and I promise you won't be hurt." He whispered before the collar injected something into my neck....
And then it all went black.
...
I blinked my eyes a few times and realized that I needed to help Maki and the others know where we needed to go to get to the funhouse. Moving over to the car with heavy steps, I got in and made sure to sit next to Maki.
"Okay it's down by the old playground a few blocks from the mega mall." I paused feeling my stomach already flipping over and over again.
"Okay." Maki said before she started the car and we were on our way.
