"Yeah, I guess so," I said with a small smile. Maybe this could be good for us? We would have more people to keep watch and more people to go out on patrols... I'm not sure if we can trust them yet... but Shuichi will be happy that they are here... so I just have to deal with it.

"So how have you been hanging on," Rantaro said dropping the happy vibe. "We have been managing... we just got new water today, moments before you guys got here... we restocked our food last week and have enough to last us for about 2 weeks... but seeing as we have two new people maybe 4 days tops," I said putting my elbow on my knee resting my chin on my hand.

"Oh, I see," Rantaro said reaching behind his back and pulling his backpack off placing it in front of him. Kaede did the same. "We brought our food and water... because we were coming here to look for any of our surviving friends," Rantaro said pulling food items and water bottles out of his bag.

"That's great. But did you make sure they aren't infected?" I asked feeling a ping of paranoia. "Yeah, we boiled the water and heated the cans," Rantaro said taking out the last few items. Kaede nodded and started to unpack her bag. "Alright." I felt in my gut that they could be lying, but I knew in my heart they would want to hurt Shuichi... so they must have checked.

"I also wanted to ask... has it just been you two the whole time... or have you found some of the others," I asked dropping my arms to place them on my legs. "Oh..." Kaede said looking like she was about to cry. This can't be good.

"We found Gonta, Keebo, and Miu a while back... but Gonta ended up getting infected and killed himself so it wouldn't spread. Keebo and Miu ran off and we haven't seen either of them since. When we met up with them they told us when the virus broke out Angie and Korekiyo were the first two infected... Tenko and Himiko fended then off and we lost track of them as well... I'm sorry." I could feel tears in my eyes. I shook my head to get rid of them. "Thanks for telling me," I whispered as Rantaro was pulling Kaede into a hug.

"Have either of you seen Maki?" I asked. I know Kaito has perished in this hell... but I haven't seen Maki in a while. The last time me or Shuichi saw her was almost two weeks before this started. She was going to visit Peko because she was invited to something... I know Kaito wanted her to stay, but she said it was important...

Rantaro shook his head. I bit the skin on the top of my finger. Maybe she got infected... she can probably hold her own... but I'm still worried...

Me and Maki became somewhat close when me and Shuichi got together. Kaito took forever to accept our relationship... but Maki was very accepting and actually tried to get to know me. We would talk sometimes, but she didn't talk much. When she did I was always there to listen. Shuichi, Maki, and I would always go and hang out when Kaito was being a stubborn ass... she actually wasn't as bad as I thought she was...

"We also saw Nagito, Hajime, and Chiaki when we were on our way here. We asked them to come with us... but they were going to find Fuyuhiko and Peko." Kaede said with a few sniffles. "Good to know..." I said looking to the side. That's were Maki was going... I wonder if something happened... maybe it has to do with all of this... from what I heard the virus broke out and infected a group of teenagers outside the lab...

"So where do you store your food," Rantaro asked gesturing to the food stacked on the floor. "We store it-" I started getting cut off by Shuichi walking down the stairs.

"Kaede?" He asked rubbing his eyes. I could tell he couldn't believe what he was seeing. "Shuichi!!" Kaede exclaimed running over and tackling him into a hug. He hugged back with tears falling out of his eyes. "Kaede..." He whispered holding onto her. I felt a little jealous but brushed it off...

"Rantaro, you're here too?" Shuichi asked walking over to hug him. "Yeah, I'm happy to see you alive Shuichi," Rantaro said patting his back as his tears lessened.

"Kokichi what happened while I was asleep?" Shuichi asked walking over to me pulling me into a quick kiss. "Rantaro and Kaede came in through the window as I was keeping watch," I said patting his head rusting his hair a little bit. "I'm so glad you guys are still alive... but where did you come from to get to us," Shuichi asked taking my hand in his.

They gave him the story they told me and he cried at the losses of his past friends. Of his past life...

"We store the food here Rantaro," I said walking to the locked cabinet with the food and water. He placed the items they came with, in the cabinet before I locked it again returning the key to the chain on my neck.

"Thanks for taking us in Kokichi," Kaede said with a smile. "Of course, you are our friends... it the least we can do in this hell," I said walking back to the main room sitting on the worn couch. Shuichi sat in the spot next to me and snuggled up to me. Shuichi is very touch starved... and I can't say I'm not the same... I find it so cute how he will always snuggle up to me when we sit on the couch, cuddle me when we go to sleep, and hold my hand or put his head on my shoulder when we are in the house or getting food.

I wrapped my arms around Shuichi while Kaede and Rantaro sat on the other chairs. "You guys should get some rest you must be tired from today..." I said leaning against Shuichi. "Yeah, the sky is already getting dark," Rantaro said sitting up in his chair. "Where do you guys sleep?" Kaede asked looking over to me. "We usually just sleep upstairs... because it's safer up there. We have a spare room you guys could sleep in. But we only have one room and then a small office." Shuichi said looking up at them.

They both nodded. "We can make that work. Kaede are you ok sharing a room?" He asked giving her a side glance. "Yeah, we have before so it's fine with me!" She said clasping her hands together. "Alright since that is settled let's wrap it up for tonight," I said standing up still holding Shuichi. We all walked upstairs and said our goodbyes for the night.

Shuichi pulled me over to the bed and immediately latched himself onto me when we got under the covers. He rubbed my back and sang quietly making me slowly close my eyes. I know I wouldn't be able to sleep... but when Shuichi sings I can get some rest.
