Nostalgia
I just got hit with a wave of nostalgia. It goes a little something like this:
It's a late November evening. I've just come candy shopping for a 3 year old birthday party and it's cold enough that when I exhale, a little puff of air comes out.
My finger tips are cold, I'm warm in my boots and the air sends chills into my lungs.
And I decide to make a stop at a boba shop that has always caught my eye: Boba Pucca.
Remember that show you used to watch when you were little? About a little girl with twin buns who was in love with a ninja named Garu? Ninjas and noodles! She loves him, she kissed him, bambambam.
A boba shop themed after that. You love it, of course, so in you go, after months of having your eye.
The windows of the small shop are foggy, the lighting is warm and you're scrambling for your wallet to go inside with just that.
A bell tinkles as you step in and you're filled up with the warmth that is the shop. It's small and quaint. It's nearly December, in two days, so they've already got the Christmas tree and Christmas decorations up.
There's the distinct smell of green tea and coffee and there's soft Korean, possibly Vietnamese music, playing in the background. You're the only one there, but you fall in love with the store immediately.
Fall in love with this cute little store, with boba for the first time. Be in love with that small frost that bites at your fingertips from coming inside. Be in love with a girl that can't love you, but you still wish you could have her. Find comfort in that warmth that she gives your heart, despite how much of an actual sin it is.
Being in love with the whole moment, taking a Snapchat video of the scene around you and sending it to the girl you love saying,
"I would love to being you on a date here"
So, I sit here, on my bed on a late, humid September night, remembering that night and getting all choked up.
Nostalgia, some times you're sweet to me, but tonight, you've brought a real ache to my heart.
