"Yes, yes, yes"

Jaylen up there. 

Jaylen POV

  The driver finally settled on a a very nice hotel, in an area that was foreign to both me and Allure. "Is this far enough?" he asked as Allure nodded her head. "Yes. Thank you so much. I hope this is more then enough. If there is change, keep it." she said handing him $80. Well he got a nice $20 tip. "Come on." she said as latched my arm over her shoulder as we walked into the building. "I'm sorry but check in time has already passed." "Please can you let us check in? Look at us, if we leave here, I don't think we'll survive." She said as the woman gave us a sympathetic look. I mean, it wasn't like she was lying, Bryheem would definitely kill us. "We really just need some where to rest our heads. Please." she begged again. The woman took a deep sigh before speaking. "It would weigh heavily on my heart not to help. I have one room with two king beds available.  Room number 305" she said handing us the keys. 

  Allure tried to hand her some money but she rejected it. She simply gave us a smile as we waved and walked away, with Allure supporting me. The ride on the elevator was silent. "Let's get you in washed up kid." she said, making her way to the bathroom. Wait a minute, Roman! I quickly grabbed my phone and  called him. "Wassup?" "Where are you?" "About to be on my way the-" "Do not go there!" I interrupted him. "Why?" "Roman, I'm not there. I escaped!" I heard the tires screech in the background. "Holy shit! Where are you?" he said as I looked around the room for some sort of indication. My eyes landed on a nearby coaster. "It called Insignia." "I'm on my way." he said as the call disconnected. He never lets me finish a sentence. "This shit is amazing! I feel like I'm in a movie! There's a jacuzzi in the bathroom!" she said as she walked back in the room.

  Her smiled faltered a bit when her eyes made contact with me. Safe to say I look like a domestic abuse victim right now. "I'm sorry." she said as I shook my head. She reached her hand out, as I kinda grabbed it and walked towards the bathroom. "I'll go see if they have a souvenir shop or something open and get you a fresh pair of clothes." she said closing the door. I slowly took my clothes off and started the shower. I waited a good two minutes before stepping in. I hissed as the pressurized water made contact with some of my cuts and bruises. I watched as the blood cascaded down my bruised arms and legs. I waited a few more seconds before washing up. "I'm gonna leave the clothes on the sink. I'm gonna get rid of the other ones for you if that's OK." allure said knocking on the door. "That's fine, can you just check my pockets and make sure that there's nothing in them?" "I got ya." she said as she quickly opened and closed the door. 

   The water was turning slightly brown as I washed my hair. "Damn I'm that dirty." I mentally stated. Sighing, I continued to wash my hair. Once I was satisfied with how clean I was, I finished up and walked back into the room. "So I'm guessing you're wondering-" Allure said but was interrupted by my phone ringing. "Hello?" "What's your room number?" Roman asked. "305." "Bet." He said before he hung the phone up. Well damn rude ass. "I'm sor-" "Its okay. I heard the conversation. I'll just wait until he comes before I start explaining things." She said flashing me a weak smile. The moment was short-lived as we heard a knock on the door.

  Allure was on guard just in case it wasn't Roman. I looked through te peep hole and sure enough, it was him. I opened the door as he wasted no time pulling me into a bear hug. "You really made it out!" he continuously said as he spun me around. Meanwhile, I was over here dying because he was putting too much pressure on my bruises. I guess he was seeing it all over my face because he quickly put me down on the bed. "Sorry." he said as I waved my hand. After finally catching my breath, I started to speak. "That....praise..should go..to Allure." I said coughing as I pointed to her. "Thank you so much! I'm glad you made it out as well." he said hugging her as well. Roman doesn't know his own strength and it shows. "Not a problem." she said through baited breath. Once he put her down and calmed down, she started to speak again. "I guess I can tell you how everything came to be." she said as I nodded and gave her my full attention. 

  "It started after you and Darren's attempt to escape. I paid attention to what wrong in the plan. That was the fact that we didn't have enough people on board. It would've been smoother if we did. So I started to recruit people. I told them that they could get their own freedom as well, however, how exactly they get it would be on them. At first, it was a hard sell. Everyone was scared of Bryheem, however after seeing you constantly defy him, they quickly jumped on board. Now that I had that, I had to plan exactly how we were going to go about it. I met with a few people and we discussed that. The original plan was to cause a blackout but we quickly ruled that out since we had no idea where the generator was. So we was at a stalemate for a minute because everything we came up with after that was quickly shot down."

  "Well that was until Alicia said we should just take it by force since that's how they got us." she said as I nodded. "We all agreed. Now the only thing left was when. I decided to wait until you graduated since that was initially the plan.  So that night of your graduation day, the rest was history." she said as she had a hopeful look in her eyes. "Wow." I said speechless. The whole house has been plotting this whole time huh. I just have one question though. "Why didn't anyone inform me on the plan?" "You were dealing with way too much at the time. Between Darren's death and Bryheem's antics, you were dealing with enough." she said as I nodded my head. "I can't thank you enough!" I said with tears in my eyes as I hugged her. "No. I should be saying that to you and Darren." she said looking up at the ceiling. See D? We did it. 

  "What will you do now?" Roman asked, bringing us back to reality. "We can't stay here. That's for sure." I said as he nodded. "We'll deal with the technicalities tomorrow. For now, I need to sleep." I said as I yawned. I let go of Allure as I returned to my bed, and ironically Roman's arms. "I'm so proud of you." he said as I drifted off to sleep.  

The Next Morning

  "Rise and shine!" Roman yelled. Does this mf actually sleep. I wiped the crust out of my eyes to see him standing there with a tray breakfast for me and Allure. "Thanks." I said with a hand over my mouth. I quickly got up went to brush my teeth because that's a no. When I finished, I saw clothes laid out on my bed. "Thanks Allure." I said as she smiled. We all sat around and ate, making light jokes here and there. I honestly felt good as hell to be free. Once we finished, A;;ure announced that she was going to take a shower. "Let's have some fun today OK?" Roman said as he nudged me. "Fine by me but you know it isn't safe for you to still be in this city right?" "Don't worry about me. Imma be good. I promise." he said as he held his pinky out. I just stared at him. "What? Don't leave me hanging." he said as I laughed. We linked pinky's as we both gently tugged back on it. "Aww brotherly love. So cute." Allure said as I mushed Roman. "Shut it." I said as I got up to shower and change next. "So damn mean." he mumbled. "I heard that." "I love you" "Uh huh." I responded as I closed the door. 

  Once I was finished, I went to charge my now dead phone. I turned my head to Roman. "Wassup?" "Uh, you not gonna wash up? At least bird bath?" I said as he tilted his head as well. "Uh I already did. You didn't notice the change of clothes?" he said as I actually gave him a look over. I stand corrected. "What was that? I didn't hear you?" he said with his hand cupped to his ear. "My fault. Lemme mind my business." I said as he and Allure laughed. The moment was short lived as there was a knock on the door. Everyone's guard went up.  "It's me." the clerk from yesterday said from the other side as we calmed down. I went to answer the door. "I'm just coming to check on you guys, everything OK?" she asked with a concerned expression. I gave her a warm smile. "Yes we're fine. Thank you so much for being hospitable." I answered as she gave me a smile back. "I'm glad you're liking the room. Stay as long you like." "Actually, we are going to be leaving today." I said as I heard a collective 'what' from everyone. "I don't want to bring any trouble here nor do I want you to get in trouble with the higher ups." I said as she nodded her head. 

  "Well I'm happy that I could be over service. I do hope you guys be safe out there." she smiled as I hugged her. "Thank you for everything." I said once as I waved to her and closed the door. "Are you crazy? Why did you say that?" Roman said once the door was closed. "We cannot stay here durr! Bryheem isn't sitting idly. Each minute we waste here, the closer he gets to finding us. I'm not going back there nor do I plan on dying." I said as Allure agreed. "There's no way in hell he's gonna just welcome us back with open arms. So he has a point." she added. "OK but where are you gonna go?" he asked us. "Away from here. Far away. I don't care where but anywhere is better then here." I said as he sighed. "We don't have a choice." I added. "I understand. Let's just do one more thing before you go. Deal?" he asked. I nodded my head. We gathered our things as we headed out. "Where'd you get that bag from?" I said noticing the book bag on Allure. "I been had it. I'm surprised you didn't notice it earlier. How else was I gonna pay the cab driver." she said as I nodded my head. Good point. 

  On our way out, we walked past the clerk again. We mouthed 'Thank you' as she was helping another guest. She mouthed 'You're welcome' back as she gave us a weary look and I knew why. I just smiled as we walked to Roman's car. "Where to?" I asked him. "You'll see." was all he said as he simply responded. I should've known better then to ask him that in the first place. I just sat back and watched the houses blur in the distance. Within a few minutes, we pulled to a carnival. "I figured you two could use a little fun after all you been through." he said scratching the back of his neck. "Thank you so much. I always wanted to come here!" Allure said as she hugged him.  Smiling, I put my book bag in the car as he locked the door. He paid for our tickets as he made our way to out first ride. That being the tilt-a-whirl. "Ight, imma go sit down." I said walking to a nearby bench. "Why- oh. My fault." Roman said. "It's OK. Go ahead. Enjoy yourselves." I shooed them off as I sat down. 

  Looking around the park, there really wasn't anything I could ride. Kind of a bummer but as long as Allure enjoys herself, that's all that matters. I smiled at them as the ride began. Watching the genuine smile spread across her face made me so happy.  Once the ride ended, Roman looked like he was about to throw up. "What's wrong, is the baby about to throw up?" I teased. "Shut up. I'll be OK. I haven't been on there in a min so it takes some getting used to." he responded flagging me down. "I wanna get on this one next." Allure said pointing to the bumper cars. Roman shrugged as he followed behind her. Remind me to never let her drive. Baby was crashing into everybody, hell I almost thought she was 'bump' the car out of the damn area. "That was fun!" she said laughing. They went on a few more rides as I watched. We were walking past the tunnel of love as I saw Roman secretly gazing at it. "Who you in love with?" I asked him, bursting his bubble. "Nobody. Mind your business chump." he said as his face turned slightly red as we kept walking. Got ya. 

   We stopped to grab a quick snack, he said he was taking us somewhere else to eat after this. After that we walked toward the ring toss booth. Finally something I could participate in! "My turn." I said as I paid the man and received my rings. "Don't miss hype ass." "Mind ya business." I shouted back as I tossed my first ring. Direct contact. I continued this 3 mores times, making each and every one. "See? I got this." I said as I stuck my tongue out at him. I got a nice sized bear and handed it to Allure. "Thank you so much. I love it!" she said softly hugging me. We kept walking as he stopped at the duck hunting booth. The sound of the air gun made me shudder. "Can't let you show off." Roman said as he paid the man and took aim. His first shot was on point, however, I wasn't able to focus due to the fact that the image of Darren flashed in front of me. I hadn't even realized he was done until he tapped me. "You don't like it?" he said as I saw the panda in his hand. I quickly snatched it from him. 

  "My favorite animal. Don't get cut." "I thought I was you're favorite animal?" he pouted. "You was until she came along. Run along dear." I said shooing him away. "Wow. Replaced by an inanimate object. That's crazy." he shook his head. I leaned in to him as he slung his arm around my shoulder. "Is there any other ride you want to go Allure?" he asked her. "Yes just one. I want to get on the Ferris Wheel." she said smiling. No one objected as we all made our way to the ride. "The city looks so beautiful." Allure said as we looked onward. "Especially at night. Wow." I said as I looked at the gleaming lights. I didn't even realize it was now nightfall.  This was putting me in such a tranquil mood right now. "Thank you for making a child hood dream of mine come true." Allure said hugging Roman once more as tears streamed from her eyes. I'm not crying. 

  "Not a problem. Thank you for everything, especially making sure he didn't give up." he said as I rolled my eyes. Whatever. Once the ride was over, we headed back to the car. Roman said he saw a nice little restaurant when he drove past so that's where were going. As we ate, I couldn't help but imagine what this what have been like if we weren't on the run. "You ready to go?" Roman asked as I nodded my head. I paid for the food, making sure to leave a tip as we grabbed our things. "Could you take me to the nearest bus station?" Allure said once we stepped in the car. I was tempted to say something but stopped. It was that time. Roman pulled out his phone as he quickly googled it. Once he found one, he pulled off. The ride there was silent but a comfortable silence. Shortly after that, we were at the station. I instantly started to cry. "Hey. Don't cry. It's time to start anew. I want to thank you for giving me this opportunity and for always being there for me. You gave me a strength I didn't know I had. I want you ti know that I'm forever grateful for you." 

  I was full on bawling right now. "You're one of the strongest people I ever met. You have the power to unlock the greatest potential of every person you come in contact with.  Don't let anyone take that power from you, you understand me?" she asked as I nodded my head. I was searching for a pen and some paper so she could have my number. She pulled out a phone. as shocked as I was, I instantly put my number in it. "You weren't the only one with one." she said smiling as I quickly put my number in. "Well, I have to go and put my new found freedom to use. I love you Jay. Thanks again Roman." She let me go and quickly gave him a hug before running into the station. "You OK?" Roman said as he grabbed my hand. "I will be. I'm just happy she is finally free." I said as he nodded his head. "Where to next?" "The airport." is said as he raised his eyebrow. "Don't give me that look." I said as he got quiet but drove anyway. I could tell that he wanted to say something but was forcing himself to hold back. 

 Once we finally got there, that's when he finally broke. "I don't want you to leave. I quickly sighed. "Roman....." "I know. I don't want you to but you have to. Make me proud, where ever you go." "It's not like you're not gonna know where I'm at. I will definitely tell you." "I know but still." he said as I tilted my head down. He lifted it back up. "You're a king. Never let anyone treat you like a peasant. Thank you for doing making me a better person." he said as I smiled. "Thank you for listening to me, sometimes ramble, being my therapist, my protector as well as a shoulder to cry on." I said as tears started to form in his eyes. "Thank you again for panda! I love her." I said as he laughed. "You're welcome." "Bring it in." I said hugging him. I kissed him on the cheek. "Behave yourself Roman." "Same to you. You know I'm pulling up whenever. I'm only a call away" he said as I laughed but I knew he was dead serious. "I'll call you when I land." I said as I grabbed my bag and walked away. "Wait." he said as I turned around to him hugging me. "Now you can go. Call immediately when you land." he said as I nodded my head and made my way in.

  "Excuse me ma'am can you tell me when the next flight is?" I asked the clerk at the desk. "Sure one is about to take off in 15 minutes. "Oh good. Can I purchase a ticket?" "Sure sweetie let's just hurry and get you to he kiosk over there." she said as she came from behind the counter. "Do you have your ID or passport with you?" she asked as I panicked. "No." "Well I'm sorry son, I really can't help you." she said as she began to walk away. "Ma'am please! I really can't stay here! My life is in danger if I do. I'll pay whatever the price." I said as I began to grab some money out of my book bag. She took a deep breath. "OK. Just stand back." she said as she began to input information into the computer. "There. We're all set." "Thank you so much." I said handing her the price of the ticket plus $100 extra. "No problem. We have very little time to get you through security so just follow me." she said as we both starting to sprint. She whispered something to security as the guard told me to get on the cart. I waved to her as he sped off. "Wait we have one more" he yelled as we made it to the gate just seconds before they was about to close the door.                 

  They quickly checked my ticket before telling me to take a seat. I had a window seat, nice! I placed my book bag on my lap as I listened to the instructions. Once that was over, I laid my rested my head on Panda and drifted off to sleep. 

  New life, here I come.
