"I've been waiting my whole life to find someone like you"

Jaylen POV

  I woke up the next morning to extreme pain and the sound of my phone vibrating. I strained my eyes to see a muscular arm wrapped around me. I followed the trail of the arm to see my baby sleeping like a baby. 'Knocked that ass out after 1 round.' I said as I smiled. The moment was short lived as I remembered my phone. Groaning I finally answered it. "I called you like 10 times. What are you- wait a minute." Jade said as I finally opened my eyes to see her staring hard the camera. "You're hair is a mess and who's arm is that?" she said as I noticed she could see the arm. I panned the camera to Bobby as she let out a loud ass yell. I accidentally hung up on her as he stirred.

  I quickly called her back. "Could you be anymore loud?" I said as she smiled even harder. "When did this happen?" "Yesterday. When I said I had to call you back, that was why. He was right there by the door." I said as she smiled. "Well let me leave you two alone. Call me when you finally get situated. Congrats." she laughed as she hung up. Bobby pulled me closer to him. "Good morning- well afternoon handsome." I said as he kissed me. "Every time I wake up to you is a good day." he responded. He is so damn sweet. I cuddled in his arms. "I'm finally whole." he said as I smiled. "How's my daughter coming along?" he said rubbing on my stomach.

  "Move." I said pushing him away from me. "What? You said last night that I'm gonna be a dad so I'm checking up." he said as we burst out laughing. "I can't stand you." "That's why you're laying with me." he said as kissed him in agreement. I really missed him. "Let's get cleaned up first." he said as he sat up. He picked me up and walked me into the bathroom. I must say, seeing his muscles flex like this was such a turn on. That's probably why he lifted me up to kiss him. "Go ahead and take your shower, I got the other stuff." he said as I nodded. I noticed he was walking around ass naked, I could get used to this. I wasted no time limping my ass to the toilet. "Didn't know he was that backed up." I said as I put my face in my hands.

  If I was a female, I definitely would've been pregnant with triplets, sheesh. Once I was finally finished, I jumped right in the shower. "This feels so good!" I exclaimed as the warm water cascaded down my body. The faint smell of laundry detergent filled the bathroom, letting me know that he started washing our things. I continued to shower with a big ass kool aid smile on my face. "Did you save me some hot water?" Bobby said as I opened the door. "Yes I did. I didn't even take a hot shower sir. At least it didn't feel that way." I said as he laughed. He kissed me before going into the bathroom. "Feel free to join me any time. You may have missed a spot." he smirked. As tempting as that sounded, I was still exhausted from last night.

  I shook my head as I groggily walked into my room to get dressed. It smelled so good in here! Once I was finished, I walked into the living room and laid on the couch. "I was looking for you." Bobby laughed as he walked into said area. He picked me up as he sat down. He smelled so damn good. Maybe I am pregnant because everything is appeasing my senses. "Hey, come back to me." he said snapping his fingers. "Sorry." I said embarrassed. "Tell me what happened to you." I said to him. "Well, when I woke up, the doctors were saying it was a miracle that I was even alive due to the already weakened condition I was in. The kid was malnourished, had a couple cracked ribs, suffering from major internal bleeding as well as a slight concussion." he said as I looked down.

  "The only thing on my mind was you." he said as he lifted my face back up. "I wanted- nah needed to make sure you were OK. I didn't care what happened to me just as long as you were good. You've already been through so much as it is." he said kissing me. "My mom's told me that I slipped into a coma after surgery. When I finally came to, everyone was shouting thank god. I even got to see P ugly ass crying." he chuckled. "I kept asking about you but my mom suggested that it was best I just let you go. P wouldn't tell me anything either which was weird. I started to think you died or something." he said as I just listened to him.

  "Eventually I decided to just let it go and focus on my rehabilitation process. It was in God's hands if we were gonna be together. That shit was brutal. Being bedridden for two months really fucked me up. Once I finally got released, I had to get back into the swing of things. I was worried that I got evicted and lost everything but my parents told me that everything was handled. I didn't even bother to question it. I wont be going back to work for another 3 weeks, my parents told them what happened. I've been spending most of my time at the gym, regaining my muscle back. I've been debating on when I should've came to see you, if there was a you to see. I was nervous as hell." he said as I laughed. It definitely didn't seem like he was.

  "I knocked on your door first and didn't get answer so I left. Then I decided to come back and try again. This time, I decided to just chill and wait a minute. That's when I saw you walk up. I was happy as hell to see you. That happiness was shattered when I heard you mention a date. The rest was history." he said as he rubbed circles in my back. "I'm just happy you're here." "Scared you huh? I'm sorry." "No it's fine and besides-""Don't say that. Like I said before, I chose to be with you which meant I chose to accept what came with you. Flaws and all." he said as I didn't say anything after that. "Feels good having somebody special care about me though." he added as I smiled. We sat there for a few minutes. I was getting ready to say something else when I noticed he was sleep. "I really put it on you huh?" "Yeah you did." he responded scaring the shit out of me.

  I just shook my head and went back to sleep. Safe to say he did the same. I woke back up to the smell of food. "I figured you'd be hungry so I whipped us up something to eat. He said bringing the plates to the table. I definitely missed this! "Thank you big head." I said as he kissed me. We said grace before starting to eat. I took a minute to stare at him. "What?" he as as he turned to me, giving me a confused expression. This man really loves me. It shocks me each and every time I look at him. "Babe, what's wrong?" he said giving me his full attention while I cracked a smile. "Nothing, I'm just really lucky." I said as he flashed his pearly whites. "Nah, I should say that. Every time I look at you, I can't help but smile. I'm really blessed." he said as he lifted my chin to kiss me. Oh me? I'm a puddle of mush right now.

  "Eat your food silly." he laughed as I did just that. For the rest of the night, we just laid up and watched TV, well not really because we wen straight to sleep after that. I woke up the next morning to the my phone ringing. He must've brought me to my room. "Whhaaattt?" I groaned. "Man get yo ass up! You have class today!" Malika blared into the speaker. Already trying to give me a headache I see. "I can go tomorrow." I dismissively said. "Not when our finals are today!" she said as I jumped my ass up. "Shit! I forgot! Benji will have my ass." I said as I heard the line beeping. Speaking of the devil. I merged the calls so I could get ready. "Benji!" I said as I ran into the bathroom to brush my teeth. "Nah don't try to butter me up. Yo ass better be on your way to class. Don't lie because Malika already told me." He said as I sucked my teeth.

  "Snitch." I muffled. "What?" they both said as I rinsed my mouth out. "I said snitch!" I said as they laughed. "M, how long do I have?" "About a half hour." she responded while I walked into the room. The love of my life was sleeping peacefully sprawled out across my bed. "Jay!" they yelled snapping me out my trance. "What?" "Are you going deaf? We was asking if you wanted to come out tonight." "I'll let you know after finals." I responded as I slipped on a shirt. When I slipped on my sweats, I felt this presence holding my waist. Somebody is woke. He picked me up as I kissed him. "You need me to pick you up?" Malika asked as I laid my head on his shoulder. "No, I got it. I'm only 10 minutes away anyway." I said as I softly kissed said area while he rubbed circles on my back. "Ight well hurry up. I'm gonna grab our seats." Malika responded.

  "OK. Benji I'm gonna pass the test." "Damn you right. I didn't tutor you for nothing." he said as I laughed. "Bye. I'll see ya later." I said hanging up. I returned my attention to Bobby. "I don't wanna leave you." I whined. "School comes first. I'll be here. Promise. Well after I go get some change of clothes." he said as I laughed. "Oh here. I got you something." he said handing me a box as I looked at him confused. I opened it to find a key. "Will you move in with me?" he asked as my heart stopped. This man! "Yes!" I said as he laughed. "I actually got you something too." I said as he raised his eyebrows. It was a box with my key in it. "I was gonna give it to you so-" I said as he rushed to kiss me. "I'll go anywhere with you." See, he finna make me say fuck this test man.

  "Go to class baby. I'll just move some stuff from here to my place and vice versa." he said as I laughed as I put on my sneakers. "OK I'm going. I love you." I smiled. "Love you too. I'll see you later." I said as I walked out the door. "That's my baby!" I exclaimed as I walked to my car. I hauled ass to class. "There you are. Come on." Malika said dragging me into the classroom.

One Long Ass Final Later

  "I can't stand finals! I need a drink or 3." I said as we walked. "That means you're popping out with us tonight?" "Yeah." I said as I she jumped up for joy. "Lemme leave my car at home though. I already know where this is gonna go." I said as she laughed. "Same. I'll see you there." she said as I nodded. We hugged before departing. When I made it home, it was silent which meant that Bobby was at home #2. I did a quick refresh and grabbed my spare charger as I headed out. "Ain't seen you in forever my boy!" Benji said as he hugged me. "Now why you lying? You saw me last week." "This a brand new week though." he said as I laughed.

  Malika punched me. "You igged me all day yesterday, I'd like to know why." "Sorry, I got caught up." I said as she and Benji both studied my face. I shrugged as they got silent. I sent my location to Bobby just so he'd know where I was. This was a thing I did a lot of lately. "Let's take a shot!" I exclaimed as I signaled for the bartender. "First round on you for yesterday." Malika said as I laughed. We had about three shots before I got a text from Bobby. 'I'm here. I should just come in?' 'Yeah I'll come to the door.' I responded as I walked to said area. "Hi handsome." "You look good baby." he said as I smiled. "Where'd you - OH MY GOD!" Malika said once she laid eyes on Bobby. She ran towards him and gave him a hug as she cried.

  "You're alive! We've been so worried about you. No wonder why he said he got caught up." she said as he laughed. "Sorry for scaring you too. Promise it won't happen again. You guys are stuck with me." he said as I smiled. That's my baby. "Welcome back bro. Had me there for a moment." Benji said as he dapped him up and gave him a bro hug. "Good to be back." "Let's get this party started. Two rounds on me!" he said as he walked over to the bartender. "To finals!" I said toasting with Malika. "To finals!" she said as we threw back our drinks. We had to have had at least 5 of them by now. "Baby slow down." Bobby said as I smiled. "I'm feeling fine. Lovely to say the least." I started to slur. "Uh huh. Don't get mad at me tomorrow either." he said as I tried to kiss him but ended up falling in his arms laughing. I don't know how many drinks I had that night.

  I woke up the next morning feeling like my body went through a trash compactor before being tossed into an incinerator and finally ran over by a steamroller. "I told you not to drink so much last night. Hardhead ass." Bobby said laughing. Just kick me while I'm down. Groaning, I open my eyes a little to see a nearby waste bin. Good thinking because I definitely feel like I'm about to empty my entire stomach. "God." I groaned. "Sit up baby." Bobby said as I tried but failed. He picked me up and put me in his lap as he rubbed my back. I would burp with each rub. This actually made the vomiting feeling go away. "Take this and drink that." he said handing me a cup and a white tablet. I did as he say and put the cup on the nightstand. "Why aren't you hung over?" I slightly slurred as he scrunched up his nose.

  God this so embarrassing! I jumped off him as fast as I could and stumbled into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth the best I could as well as gargled some mouthwash. My head was about to exploded, causing me to fall, well him to catch me. "Chill out baby." he said picking me up as I pouted. "I'm sorry. To answer your question, I knew my limit. I still had to get us home so I decided not to drink too much so I could call our ride." he said as he cuddled up with me on the bed. Class is cancelled for today.

   I woke back up feeling refreshed as hell. I could run a marathon right now. "Good to see you feeling better." Bobby said smiling as he walked in the room. "Hmph." I said as I turned my head. He got in the bed next to me. "I'm sorry baby. You forgive me?" he asked as I didn't say anything. "Don't be mad at me." he said kissing me on my neck. I still didn't budge. He slipped his arms under my shirt as he turned me around to him. Still didn't budge. "I gotta put in some work then." he said as he slipped his shirt off. 

  "Now I can't walk again. Great." I said panting as he laughed. "Should've forgave me when you had the chance." he shrugged. He reached over me for the remote as he turned the TV on. "Yup, I'm definitely about to be a dad now." he laughed as I pushed his ass out the bed. "I told you to stop playing with me. Owwwww!" I said as the pain ran up my body. That only made him laugh harder. "I'm sorry baby. It's just funny to see your reaction. He climbed back in the bed and held me close. "I mean if it was possible, we'd def have 2 right now." he said kissing me as I shook my head. "Boy watch the TV please." 

A Few Days Later.

  "Wake up loser. We're going out to eat." Jade said as I looked at her like she was crazy. "Uh, you're in Pittsburg, that's not gonna work." "Uh look again." she said turning the camera towards the door, more like my apartment door. I know she didn't. I opened the door to see her, Cory and Talia standing there. "JJ!" Talia said as she rushed me. "Hi TT! Long time no see." "Finally I don't have to see a digital image of you!" "Let me go get dress so we can go." I said as I quickly went into my room to change. "OK! Bro I see you." Talia said as she pulled out her phone to take a picture of me:

  "Send that to me." I said as she did just that. I, in turn sent it to Bobby. He responded with 😜😋🥰😍. I started to smile. "Can we get seated now? I'm starving." I whined as Cory laughed. "Uh we were already half way to the table while you two were having a photoshoot." he said as me and Talia mean mugged him. "Y'all childish." "Y'all love us. Now come on before Jade orders her appetizer and entrée." he said as we followed behind him. "So it's finally over huh?" Jade said as I nodded. Yup. No more worries. You guys can visit as much as you want. Just let me know in advance." I laughed. "Have you heard from Bobby?" Jade asked. I haven't told anyone else besides Malika and Benji that he was alive. Lemme play it out. "No I haven't. I hope he's happy." I said as they gave me a sympathetic look. "Sorry bro." Cory said. 

  Right after that, my phone vibrated. It was Bobby. I quickly answered. "Say hi." I said turning the camera around. "Hey everyone." he said as Jade and Cory's faces lit up. "Bobby!" "There's my bro!" they both exclaimed as they snatched the phone from me to talk to him. "Who's that?" Talia asked me. "That's my boyfriend. You two haven't met before but as you can see, they did." I said laughing. She snatched the phone from them. "Oh he is fine!" she said as she looked at me. She then started to grill him. The three of us shook our heads. "Well he passes my test. I'm glad to have met him." she said handing me back my phone. "Likewise." he responded. "Ight baby imma let you go and enjoy family time. Call me when you're finished." "We gotta get up bro." Cory yelled. "Oh fasure. Let me know how long you out here for and we'll set something up."

 Now just steal my baby. "OK baby talk to you later." I said hanging up. "Aww you're jealous." the three of them teased. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hurry up and order" I said as they all laughed. "Speaking of him, his birthday is next week, how long are you guys in town for?" "Til next Sunday. You need help planning for it?" Cory asked. "I'm gonna need you to keep him busy. I have everything I need, just need a distraction." I said as he nodded his head. "Timeout, that's damn near two weeks, y'all job allowed this?" I asked as Jade and Cory laughed. "Uh we haven't seen you in years. They know how important this is. They actually gave us a bunch of time if but we decided to take it in increments." Jade answered as I turn to Talia.

  "Mom and pops allowed this?" "On break. As long as I'm with them, they don't care." Talia shrugged. Well, I guess theirs no point in me arguing against it. "Any more questions?" Jade asked as I laughed. "No your honor. The plaintiff rests." I said as we all burst out laughing. We spent the rest of the night talking about Bobby's birthday plans among other things. I really couldn't wait. 

  "Why didn't you tell me my boy was alive?!" Dion yelled into the phone. "Well good afternoon to you too. I didn't know until he showed up on my doorstep. My fault B." I said laughing as I walked to my car. "That's crazy and then y'all went out without me? Talk about fake." he added. "Well that was all M and Benji. It was to celebrate our finals though. I figured you was at work so I didn't bother to ask. Next time I got you." "Wow. I mean I was but y'all still could've texted me. That's crazy. How was work?" "It was cool. Day went by smooth for the most part." I said as I hooked my phone up to the car. That's what's up. I could say the same for me as well." "That reminds me, Bobby's birthday is Friday. I'm having a get together for him if you wanna come." "Bet. I'm in there." he responded. We spent the rest the time talking about school  and other random things. 

That Friday.

  "Yeah just keep him busy for the moment. I'm almost done." I said to Jade as I was finishing up his decorations. "I think he's getting a little impatient Jay." she said as I laughed. "It's OK. In 5 minutes, you can let him leave." I laughed as I looked around the room. Perfect. "Ight well he'll be on his way to you now." she said as I hung up. I made sure to place his gift boxes near the bed. I quickly rushed downstairs to get his cake that I made. It was his favorite, orange creamsicle marble. As much as he spoils me, I wanted to be the one to do the same for him. He was calling me as we speak. I hauled ass to the bathroom and started to brush my teeth before answering. "Hey." "Hi handsome. Were you getting ready for bed?" "Something like that." "OK. I just wanted to let you know that I was on my way. I should be there in 10 minutes." "OK I'll see you when you get here." I said as I spit out the paste. 

  I looked at the clock to see that it was now 12:04. Shortly after, I heard the door open. I quickly grabbed the cake and stood in position. "Babe I- Oh shit" he said as he walked into the room:

  "Happy Birthday Baby!" I said smiling from ear to ear. "You made my favorite cake too." He said as he was low key crying. It made me so happy to see him like this, he deserves it. As soon as I put the cake down, he rushed me on the bed. "Thank you so much for this! I really appreciate it." he said as he kissed me. "You haven't opened your gifts yet." I laughed. "I have the best one right here." he replied. I didn't argue with him there. "Please." I said as he smiled. "OK." he said getting up and walking towards the pile of gifts. "Now how did you know I wanted this? I didn't even tell nobody." he said as he unwrapped the laptop. He did let it slip that he was looking for another one and that this one was on his list. I went and copped it for him.

  "Oh shit these sneaks been on a waitlist for two months. How'd you even get these?" he said looking at the sneakers. The kid has connects. Got him two pairs too, at a 20% discount too, love that for me. I felt like a proud parent watching their child open up their Christmas presents. I continued to watch as he was in awe opening his gifts. He turned to me with glossy eyes. "Thank you so much from bottom of my heart for real." he said getting choked up. I just smiled at him. "I really don't deserve you." he said as a tear slipped from his eye. "Hey, hey. I should be saying that. You've done so much for me thus far and I wanted to show my thank you and appreciation for it as well." I said wiping his face as I kissed him. The kiss was starting to get more intense but I had to stop it. "Wait there's one more gift. Look in that drawer over there." I said motioning to his side of the nightstand. 

  He sent me a confused look before heading over there.  He opened the drawer to find a card resting on top of a box. He read the card first. "Jaylen....." he said turning to me teary eyed as one shed from my face as well. "This whole stack in the drawer?" "Mmmmm" I said nodded my head. He started to come to me but I stopped him. "Wait. You gotta open the box." I laughed. He opened the box as his jaw dropped:   

  "Nah yo! For real?" he as as I shook my head. "Look on the underside." I said as he turned the watch over. " 'I don't know what I'd do without you -Jay.' Yooo!" He said aloud as I smiled. "Nah, I should be saying that. Maaaannn!" he said swaying back in forth as tears streamed from his face. Safe to say he loved his birthday gifts. Looks like Prince was right, even if that was a dream. "God knew what he was doing when he brought me to you." he said putting the watch back as he came crawling to me. "Come here baby." he said lowly. "Now I get to enjoy my other present." he smirked as I laughed. 

  "Bobby wake up." I said gently shaking him. He was out cold. I really need to control myself. "I'm good here." he said grabbing my ass. "Uh uh. That's what knocked yo ass out in the first place. We still have some things to do." I said as I looked at the clock. It was 2:30, we really slept for 12 hours, Jesus. He groaned as he sat up. There was a bit of cake on his lip (yup, that cake was ate in more ways then one *wink*), that I licked up. He grabbed the back of my neck as he kissed me. "Good afternoon to you too." he said pulling me in his lap. "Birthday boy, we got a couple of things to do today. We already missed breakfast." I laughed as he kissed my neck. "I already ate so that's cool with me." he mumbled in my neck. I reached over to grab my phone. I had a bunch of missed calls. It looks like everyone woke up late. The last message I got was from Malika saying that we were doing brunch instead at 3. I responded that we'll be there before turning my attention to him. 

  "Let's get the day started." "I mean I can spend the day right here. I already got everything I need." he said keeping me in place. I pushed him into the bed. "Is that right?" "Damn right." he said sticking his tongue out as I kissed him. Once I felt him relax, I got off the bed and ran into the bathroom. I quickly started the water and hopped in. Major mistake because the water was cold as fuck! As soon as it started to warm up, I heard the door close. "You wrong for that but it's cool because you're right where I want you." he said as he stepped into the shower. 

  "I fall for it every time." I said shaking my head. "The kid is irresistible. I can say the same for you." he said grabbing my hand as I drove. "I missed teaching you how to drive." He said as I laughed. "In which way?" I laughed. "Definitely not the second one stallion." he said as I laughed. "Roman taught me. He demanded I get my shit since him and everyone chipped in for this." I said as he looked around the car. We continued to make small talk as we pulled up. "Happy Birthday!" Everyone screamed to Bobby as we walked in. "Thank you all so much! I really appreciate it." Bobby responded. "We was starting to think you weren't gonna come." Jade laughed. "Sorry about that. We got caught up." I said laughing. "Mmmm." Malika and Benji said laughing.  Bobby spent the rest of the night receiving gifts and giving thanks as I ate and made small talk with Dion and Darren.   

  Me and Bobby have been out having fun all day. From the arcade to mini golf, safe to say this was an eventful birthday. We took turns driving and taking quick power naps in the car. The last thing for us to do was to get dressed for his birthday dinner. I was wearing his chain as he decided to wear his watch. I was in the mirror taking pictures when he crept up behind me. I decided to snap the picture. "Send that to me." he said as I did just that. "You ready to go?" he asked as I nodded my head. He grabbed my hand as he led us out the door. I unlocked the door as he got in. "Sit back and enjoy the ride." "You not in my lap." "Shut up yo." I said as we both laughed. 

  We pulled up to the restaurant a bit quicker than I expected. "Reservation for Carter." I said as we walked in the building. "This is nice baby." he whispered me. "Thank Malika. This is all her." I responded as he gawked at the various things. "There's the birthday boy." Malika said as she hugged him. "Thank you so much M. I really appreciate it." he said as she smiled. He pulled out my seat as I sat down. "Ooooooo a gentleman." Darren said as he and Roman laughed. "Oh shut up." I laughed. We all placed our orders as soon as the waitress came over to our table. "I'd like to give a toast to Bobby." Dion said with his glass raised as everyone followed suit. "Thank you for keeping a smile on his face. For being a genuine friend and advisor, for risking your life for the person you love, for just flat out being you. Happy Birthday Bobby." "Happy Birthday Bobby!" everyone else said as we clinked glasses. 

  Once we finished eating, we headed to the dance floor. Slowdown Remix by Skip Marley, H.E.R and Wale was playing. "Girl slow down, girl let me love you. Darling slow down, let me get to know you." they sung as I danced with Malika and Darren. The song then switched to Comeback by Jojo as I got into my bag. "I'm selfish, gimmie all that. Greedy bitch when I want that. Hit them splits like and acrobat. Talk my shit cuz I'm so bad." she sung as I started to whine. Shortly after that, I felt someone's hands around my waist. "Act up." he whispered in my as he didn't need to tell me twice. "That's my baby!" Malika said hyping me up as I continued to dance with Bobby. "That was fire! Jay you gotta teach me some of those moves." Darren said as I laughed when the song ended. "Baby I'll be right back. Gotta use the rest room." Bobby said as I nodded my head. 

  "I got you. Let me know when you ready. I learned from the best." I said nudging Malika. "See I almost whooped yo ass for that shit but since I love the both of y'all and it's his birthday, I let y'all be great." Cory said as I laughed. He's always trying to house me. "That's my brother. The hell he talking about." Jade said pulling me in for a hug. We all continued to talk until I Find Someone Like You by Snoh Aalegra playing. I instantly started to smile as the song continued. "I love this song." I blurted. "I see." Darren smiled. I felt someone tap me on my shoulder. I turned around to see no one standing behind me. Confused, I turned around to see Bobby kneeling down in front of me with my friends standing right behind him.  

  "Jaylen, when we first met, it was random. Most people would say that I was crazy for even picking you up from a park bench and bringing you home but I didn't care. From that point on, we got to know each other better as friends. I got to see your personality shine and man did it have me mesmerized. You're smart, funny and passionate. You truly love to have a good time. It wasn't until you left me did I realize how much I was in love with you. Took me by surprise if I must say so. So I did what anyone would do and followed after you. That day you said yes to being mine made my day. I couldn't stop smiling for a week. Even after all the things we've been through, the love you have for me never changed. Being with you has been one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Before my birthday is over, I just have one question to ask you. Jaylen Miguel Maio, will you marry me?" he asked as he open the box, revealing this beautiful ring:     

   "Oh my god." I said as tears streamed my face. "Yes, a million times yes." I cried as he put the ring on my finger. "Thank you for making this the best birthday of my life. I love you so much baby." he said kissing me. I buried my face in his shirt as I cried. He wrapped his arms around me. "My boy is getting married!" Benji said as he ran over to us. "Keeping that secret was so hard!" Malika said as she ran to hug us. "Had to make sure you got the best." Roman added. "Finally! We here." Cory and Jade said at the same time. "Lemme make sure I throw my shit on." Dion said as I laughed. We were pulled into a group hug which made me cry even harder. There was light at the end of the tunnel, I just had to keep faith. 

  Once they broke up the hug, I felt someone tap me on my shoulder. It was Bobby's mom. She pulled me in for a hug. "Jaylen, I'm truly sorry for how I acted that day and after. Bobby fully explained to me what happened and I've never been more disappointed in myself. That boy loves you so much and I can clearly see it the same vice versa. The look on his face told me that. I'd like to start fresh and learn more about my son in law, if you'll let me." she said as I nodded my head. I was fresh out of words to be honest. "Welcome to the family." she said as she hugged me. Bobby's father was next to apologize and and welcome me to the family. Once they were done, Prince came up to me. 

  I just looked at him. "Jaylen I'm sorry for ignoring the whole time he was in the hospital. I thought I was doing what was best from him when I was only making things worse. Seeing him suffer like made me feel like shit especially since I was lying to him the whole time." "P, I understand. You were only trying to do what was best for your friend. Though I want to be mad, I can't because my friends would've probably done the same. Just know that I'm your friend too." I said as he hugged me. "I do. Thank you Jaylen." he said in the most sincerest tone. I guess the guilt weighed heavily on him. "You've really grown." My father said scaring me. Both he and my mother was standing there. 

  "He asked for our blessing two weeks ago. We thought he was playing until he actually showed us the ring." my mom said as she cupped my face. She pulled me in for a hug. "Congratulations baby. We've been here the whole time." she said as I got slightly embarrassed. That means she saw us dancing *facepalm*. "My boy is genuinely happy." my dad said as he lifted me in the air. "That makes me happy as well." he said smiling. A wide smile at that. He motioned for Bobby to come over. "Welcome to the family." he said hugging him. We continued to mingle and receive congratulations from everyone else. It was Darren that got to me. 

  "Jaylen! You finally did it! You found your happiness!" he said cried. "Darren." "After all we've been through, it makes my heart smile to see you finally getting what's yours. You deserve it. You've helped so many people along the way, it's time you get rewarded. To think, I wouldn't even have been here today if it wasn't for you." he said as wiping his tears. "I'm so glad that I've met you." he said hugging me. Now here I go crying again. Roman came over and gave me a hug as well. "Congratulations and thank you for everything." he said. 

  "You guys mind if I take him back?" Bobby asked as everyone nodded their heads. He lead me to the middle of the floor. "Thank you for giving me the best birthday and making me the luckiest man in the world." he said as I smiled. "No thank you for coming into my life when you did and making sure I smiled at least once a day." I said as he leaned down to kiss me. "No problem baby." he smirked as everyone 'awed' in the background. "I want this, can we make this last forever?" Snoh sung as he looked at me. "I already said yes. She late." I responded earning a laugh from him. As we danced, I looked around to see everyone smiling at us.  

  It made me happy to know that no matter how many times I fall, there will always be someone to Catch Me.
