Soar

She stared down the cliff, rocky and perilous.

She had one chance, one chance.

Running leap, closed eyes, hopeful prayers.

Suddenly she was soaring high above the fearful.

Higher, higher she flew.

Higher, higher she dreamed.

Sunlight highlighted her soft features,

Her gentle smile.

She saw the other dreamers, adventurers.

Her eyes saddened, for she remembered what those she left behind had said.

"Push them all under you, remember they are all inferior;

Only then will you ever be successful."

She refused to believe it. She was determined to prove them wrong.

With hopeful arms she welcomed all the escapists.

Those who accepted reached out to her.

And together they flew to success.
