Book: The Killer Princess

Help: Pippa is a princess and at the beginning that's in every sense of the word. She's nasty, spoiled, and you just want to hate her. She changes as the book goes on, but I'm scared that the readers will still not like her from her previous horrible days. How do I make them connect to her and learn to love her?
