     When Hope got to work the next day she did a background check on this Ash Lightwood guy, how she had to ask Ali about to get who they were fighting about, but she couldn't find anything on him, not a speeding ticket, or a parking ticket. He is completely clean, which is rare. She thought that was strange, but yet she has a clean record too, so she can't jump to conclusions.           She was beginning to become more suspicious when she couldn't find where he went to school or even his birth certificate. No one is this off the grid unless they're hiding something. While she was working she didn't even realize Ryan behind her. She nearly punched him when she realized he was there.
    "Don't do that, you scared the crap out of me,"Hope catches her breath with a glare towards him.
     "Sorry, Miss jumpy, I got those files you wanted," Ryan says laughing a little.
     "Oh, thanks." She turns around ready to do more digging, but he doesn't go away. She turns around in her chair and asks him, "Is there something you need?"
     "No, but why did you ask me for a background check on a man? You're always by the book and this goes against regulations." Ryan asks grinning because he knows she's up to something.
     "I'm not always by the book!" Hope argues defensively. 
     "Yeah you are and there's nothing wrong with that except that I'm one of your best-friends and know that you don't ask for those things unless it's very important. So, why do you want a background check on who is it, Ash Lightwood guy?"
     "That's not your concern Mr," Hope says turning back to her computer trying to get him to take the hint and leave her be.
      "Well, I could just tell the chief that you asked me for a background check. Whichever you would like." Ryan smiles down at her.
     "You won't dare," Hope responds suspiciously.
     "Ehmm, em chief," Ryan teases, but just loud enough to get a few looks.
     "No, no fine I'll tell you jeese." Hope says looking at the ground. He just stares waiting for a reasoning.
     "Do tellllll." He says like a child.
     "Ok, so you know Amanda and Ali right?" She questions.
     "No, I don't know your best friends that you talk about all the time, and that have paid you numerous visits," Ryan replies sarcastically.
     "Well," She says ignoring his smart ass comment. "it turns out they're dating the same guy," Hope said trying not to be too loud. There's always someone listening trying to get a story around the station.
     "What- How did that happen?" Ryan asks confused.
     "I don't know that's why I wanted to look into him, but there nothing on him," Hope says annoyed.
     "Yeah, that's not creepy," Ryan says sounding a little worried, but shivers just to be dramatic.
     "I know. I'm trying to get them both to go to the cafe to talk to me." Hope says rolling her eyes at his little dramatics but thinks about how hard it's going to be to get those two together.
     "Why did you say try to," Ryan asks with a look of confusion.
     "Because they aren't talking to each other and they're going to think I'm trying to set them up to talk."
     "Makes sense, I mean if one of my friends was dating the same girl as me I'd be kinda pissed."

     "I know, but we've been best friends since 1st grade and a man can't mess it all up? It just doesn't seem to make any sense." Hope says trying to come up with an explanation.

     "Ryan, I need help with my computer can you help me?" Max asks annoyed. Hope mumbled under her breath
     "You always need help." Ryan chuckles and shakes his head at her.

     "What seems to be the issue?" He asks walking over to help him. Hope goes back to doing what she was doing before, digging up anything on this guy.
