(Hopes POV)
"HOLY FUCK DO YOU GUYS NOT HAVE ANY HYDROGEN PEROXIDE HERE?!" I tighten my grip around Craig's wrist as Evan daps at my shoulder wound with a rag covered in Rubbing Alcohol.
"This shit will help more. Two bullets grazed you, it's not a scratch." Brian says leaning on the desk. I tightly close my eyes, trying my damn hardest not to cry. I let out a small scream.
"Here, you might want this," Moo said, walking in with a roll of gauze and medical tape. He sets it on the nightstand next to me as he sits in the chair behind Evan.
Evan does a final wipe at my shoulder before reaching for the gauze. He wraps it around my shoulder a couple times and tears off the strand. As he holds it he grabs the medial tape and puts a couple pieces over my shoulder to hold the gauze in place. He picks up my arm and examines the other wound.
"It won't need stitches luckily, but it's going to leave a nice scar." He starts to wrap it as well.
After I was bandaged up, I pull down my bandana and catch my breath. Evan goes around his desk and starts looking through it. I let go of Craig's wrist and stand up, trying to put my hands over my head to help me breathe, but only get my other arm up all the way and the wounded one about halfway, good enough.
"Maybe your next scar will look as cool as mine," Brian says pointing at his face. I start to laugh and shake my head.
"I don't want to be ugly like you sadly. A hard pass for me." He gets up and walks up to me, towering over me now.
"Okay, I'll really appreciate it if you two don't fight in my office. Ah, here it is, Hope here." I jokingly punch Brian in the gut and go around him, Evan holds out a credit card to me.
"This is my card, I want you to go out and find a nice outfit for tonight, then meet us at Diamond Casino and Resort at eight. Park in the front and I'll have Valet take your car." I take the card and put it in my pant pocket.
"The most your getting out of me is a button-down shirt and skinny jeans. I don't have or do nice clothes." He scoffs and shakes his head.
"Wait do you still have that dress I bought you when I took you to that nice restaurant for our one year anniversary?" Brian asks me. I look down at my legs and back up to him.
"I know you can only see out of one eye, but you should notice that I have bigger thighs and an ass now, the dress won't even make it past my thighs." Behind Brian, both Craig and Evan were trying their best not to smile, or make a sound.
"Diamond Casino at eight got it. I think this is a first that you're letting me out on my own without someone." I smirk at Evan.
"I trust you, you trust me remember? Please, at least make an attempt on dressing nice, most of us are going to be dressing like Craig over here." Craig lets out a chuckle and nods his head.
"Well, I'm sure the sight that I'll see tonight is a sight that you'll want to see from me. You know what, fine, I'll wear a dress. Now if you excuse me, I have a death wish to fulfill." I put my hands in my pocket and find the grenade still in there. I pull it out and hand it to Brian before going downstairs and to my new car.
I bet there's at least 10 million on this card maybe more. I don't know what I would do with that kind of money. I push open the door to Ponsonby's. The lady at the counter looks me up and down and looks away from me. Of course, I don't belong in here that's why she's giving me a dirty look. I go to the rack where some dresses are hanging up and already see one that surprisingly catches my eye. I pull it off the rack and hold it up, a long-sleeved black dress that looks like it's going to stop mid-thigh for me. I bring it to the back of the store and go to one of the open dressing rooms.
I come out and look at the large wall mirror. I turn around and see that this dress is going to stay hugged to me at my thighs. Luckily the sleeves don't press on the gauze as hard.
"So, the tomboy has a girly side," Moo says holding a white button-up shirt in his hands and some black pants. I look over at him and laugh a little.
"He wants me to look nice and I want something that will make him happy but won't draw attention to me. Therefore I'm going to get this dress." I look back at myself in the mirror and actually feel nice wearing it, I look back to Moo, "Did Evan send you so he can make sure I'm not bailing on everyone?" I ask him, crossing my arms as best as I can. He smiles at me and shakes his head no.
"When he said everyone dresses up he means everyone. That includes me who only owns tank tops and jeans." He walks to the other dressing room and closes the door. I go back to mine to change back into my hoodie and jeans.
"Well from a guy's perspective, did it at least look okay?" I ask slipping out of the dress.
"It's a classy dress and will fit well in the atmosphere. As for getting attention, I think you already know who's you'll be getting." He tells me. I feel my cheeks heat up as I jump into my jeans.
I slide my hoodie over my head and slip back on my black hightops. I go out of the dressing room with the dress in hand as Moo comes out wearing the white shirt with a sunset-colored tie and black jeans. I start to smile at him.
"The tie brings it all together because it screams you. You look great Moo." He starts to smile as he looks at the mirror to look at himself.
"This is as far as I'm going, Evan better be happy." He chuckles as he goes back in the dressing room. I laugh with him and walk back out to the front of the store.
"I'll see you there Moo." I look at the shoes and stop, sighing as I should probably get a pair.
I grab a pair of black high heels in my size and go up to the counter. I hand the lady the card after she scans the two items. After buying the dress and shoes I go back to my car and put the bag in the passenger seat. A wild thought comes to my mind as I run my fingers through my hair. I need a change, yeah I think it's time for a change. I go around the block and park in front of Bob Mullet's hair salon a high-end place that I once again would never go to in my life.
I look at the time on the dashboard and see that it's already six. I hope he'll have enough time for what I want. I get out of the car and go into the hair salon. He looks at me and gasps.
"Come in darling come in!" He says. I sit down in the seat in front of him as I take out the hairbands in my hair.
"What are we doing today Hunny?" He asks me. I'm doing this, after growing it out forever I'm finally getting it cut.
"I want it short and by short I mean this short." I bring my hand a little bit above my shoulders, "Like a wavy bob almost?" He smiles at me as he grabs a comb and scissors.
"You are going to look FABULOUS darling!" He says as he starts brushing out my hair.
On the tv behind him, the news started talking about the events that happened today. I watch it from the mirror.
"The Vanoss Crew went barreling down the highway early this afternoon taking out helicopters, cars, vans, and motorcycles. From both sides of the notorious Vagos and Ballas gang. Once again, the Vanoss Crews proves that nothing can stand in their way. But multiple witnesses spotted a new member of their crew today." I watch as they pull up a picture of me shooting at one of the helicopters in the sky. Look dad, I finally made it.
"This mysterious person was seen helping the Vanoss Crew shoot at the rival gangs. Is this another person that we should fear? Find out more after the break." The tv went to a commercial and there I sat, beaming with glee. I guess I really have made it.
I reach up to my hair as I continue to look side to side in the mirror. This is going to get some getting used to that's for damn sure. He was even thankful enough to do my makeup, just some basic winged eyeliner. The stylist comes back and hands me the card. I get up from the seat and take the card, throwing up my hand to say bye as I walk out the door. The summer breeze already hitting my bare shoulders. I get back in my car and start it up, the clock reading 7:35. I'll have enough time to run back home to change and get to the casino at around 8.
I run inside the house, not even bothering to say hi to anyone and go to my room, slamming the door shut. I take off my hoodie, pants, and high tops and slip on the dress and strap on the high heels. I stand up and look at my full body mirror, not even recognizing myself. Yeah, I really need to get used to this and fast.
I grab my high tops since I know I'm going to be needing them for later for when my feet start hurting and hurry back down the stairs to the running car. On the way to the casino, I felt nervous for no reason. I don't know if it was because I don't know how everyone's going to react or I'm spending money that I barely have. My thoughts made the drive go quicker because I was already pulling up into the parking lot of the casino and resort.
At the front, Evan was leaning on the wall of the casino, wearing a red dress shirt with a black tie, his sleeves rolled up a bit, black dress pants, and black dress shoes. I stopped in front of the valet and continued staring at Evan. I guess I never noticed how ripped Evan was since he's either wearing a baggy shirt or his jacket.
I grab my wallet from the passenger seat and get out of the car. Evan looks up from his watch on his wrist and looks at me. He drops whatever he was holding in his hand as well as his mouth. I shut the door and walk over to him, my hands cupped in front of me. As I walk up to him he still has his mouth open.
"You're worse than Brian let me tell you," I say beginning to laugh. The Valet goes to my car and drives it around to the back of the building. He closes his mouth but still stares at me.
"I was just expecting a dress, not this holy fuck." He reaches up and touches my hair. I start to laugh as he rubs a couple of strands of it with his fingers. "I only know that it's you because of your beautiful eyes, but I still can't believe it." He brings his hand to my cheek and holds it.
"I... oh my god I...oh my god you just look so perfect right now." He says as he brings his hand down to his side. He bends down and see him pick up his phone that he dropped. I felt like I was going to throw up from how nervous I was right now. He holds out his arm to me like they do in the movies. I give him a quick laugh and take it.
"I feel like I need to escort you in case anyone tries to steal you for being too beautiful." He teases at me as we walk in the casino. I look around the place and notice Moo was right, people really are dressed up here, except for the occasional bum or two.
"Here's your card back, by the way. I didn't spend much promise." I reach into the dress pocket which I found out it had back at my house and hand it to him. He takes it and puts it in his pocket. I look at the bar and see Delirious as well as... no.
"I need a drink real quick," I tell him. He chuckles as we walk to the bar. Yeah, I thought I was seeing things but I guess not. I let go of Evan's arm and walk to Delirious and Autumn. I sit down next to her and stare at her.
"Wow, when you said you were dating someone awhile back I did NOT picture this!" I tell her. Autumn turns to look at me. Her eyes go wide from my sudden change. She pulls me into a tight embrace.
"A CALL WOULD'VE BEEN NICE YOU KNOW! I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET AHOLD OF YOU FOR AWHILE NOW!" She quickly lets go of the hug and looks at me. I guess I completely forgot that Wolf Syndicate took my phone. Evan sits down next to me and wraps an arm around my back.
"How do you know Jonathan?" She asks me. I look at Delirious then back to Autumn.
"Remember when you were supposed to meet me at the club? Well, he and his friends beat you to it, been with them ever since then really. It's a long story trust me." I say shrugging my shoulders. She turns to Delirious.
"She was the important business? Really?" She turns to me and gives me a hug before getting up from her seat and walking away. Delirious gets up and follows her.
"I'm sorry hoochie come back please." I laugh at the two as Evan hands me a whiskey glass.
"I'll pay for everything tonight alright? My treat just for you." He says giving me a wink as he starts to drink from his glass. I give him a smile and down mine quickly. I set it back on the counter and get up from my seat, pulling on Evan's arm.
"Come on, I bet I'm better at you at BlackJack." He finishes his drink and starts to laugh.
