Chapter 35
If you've read my stories long enough you should know this picture by now cause this picture is going to basically describe every chapter from here on out ;) The song is called Ghost by the band Badflower! The song is on the deep side but I just love how well it goes with this chapter.
(Hopes POV)
"You sure you don't need a co-pilot for this?" I ask Lui as he throws up the hood of his red hoodie.
We figured out the best outcome to take out Warren and his men for good while staying at Holly's for a total of four days. We did sadly have to wait for the next group of people to get attacked which was Lui and David to see where his men were coming from. However, we were able to see where Warren was hiding out at, as well as most of his bodyguards, and possibly money. Two teams were going to attack from the sky and from the ground up. Evan, Brian, and I were with Lui in the sky and entering the building from the roof entrance. We would be taking out everyone from the top and meeting the ground team in the middle of the building which is the 4th floor.
"I appreciate it but I can handle it up in the skies.I'm helping by hauling your asses to the building, how else do you think you're gonna get in?" Lui asks as he puts on black fingerless gloves.
I was already covered head to toe in all black and in body armor since we were attacking at night. I even got a new black bandana to cover my face. All we were waiting for now, was to get an all clear from Brock at the computer, looking at traffic cameras to see if they've left the building.
"Now, don't be afraid to call for reinforcements alright? I have the FIB number on speed dial in case it gets overwhelmed in there. So even if we can't kill him he'll get captured by the FIB and or by the NARCS." Lui says. How could I forget about going to the FIB building part of the setup?
I was dramatically crying as I grabbed at people to help me, Evan, at my side. I was wearing a flowy black dress while he supported a white button up shirt with a black tie and black pants.
"PLEASE HELP! MY BROTHER, HE'S GONE!" I yell as I grab a guy in uniform. He drops his papers and looks at me.
"HE WENT TO DO A JOB FOR SOMEONE BUT MY HUSBAND AND I FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS A DRUG LORD AND WE CAN'T FIND MY BROTHER ANYWHERE!" I fall to the ground and cry even more. Evan and the guy kneel beside me.
"Ma'am, I'm going to have to ask you to calm down so I'm able to help you." The guy in uniform says I look up at him, tears running down my face.
"First off, how do you know that this man who took your son is a drug lord?" The man asks. Evan reaches in his shirt pocket and pulls out the business card that Warren gave me and hands it to the man. I grab onto the guy's shirt and pull him close to me, hoping to avoid the question.
"FIND MY BROTHER PLEASE HE COULD BE DEAD FOR ALL I KNOW!" I yell out. I let go of the guy and cry into my hands.
"HEY! I GOT A HOP UP OVER HERE! Do you guys have a picture of what the guy looks like?" I was to busy putting on a dramatic show for the agents to believe while Evan got the picture of him and Warren from the party but cropped himself out. A couple more people in suits come over to look at and study the picture. One even taking a picture.
"This is our guy boss, the one we've been tracking for a while now." One of the agents on the shorter side says. I look up from my hands and gasp.
"YOU CAN FIND MY BROTHER?! OH THANK YOU THANK YOU! HERE'S MY CONTACT INFORMATION IF YOU NEED ANYTHING FROM US! My husband and I have to go see my poor mother, she's taking this just as badly as I am." I open up my clutch purse and pull out a piece of paper with the burner phone number on it as well as my name, 'Hope Fong'.
"We're Hope and Evan Fong. Her brother's name is Brock Thompson, here's a picture if you need to remember his face," Evan says as he reaches in his pocket again.
He takes out his phone again and swipes through his photos as he gets to the picture of David, Evan, and I in our swimsuits, all of us holding up a bottle of Pisswasser at Del Perro beach next to the boardwalk. We took this yesterday, having to stage a believable photo, and David and I look somewhat alike to be able to pass off as siblings. Evan shows the detectives again as one of them takes a photo of it with their phone.
"Evan Fong hmm?" The detective who was kneeling beside me says as he gets up. Shit please Evan, I know you aren't on social media but how could they know your real name?
"Yes sir, that's my name. You probably heard it around town because I own the night club up near Rockford Hills." Evan says. The detective snaps his fingers and smiles at him.
"That's where I heard your name from! I promise you both we'll find your brother and brother in law and take down this supposed drug lord. In the meantime make sure the rest of your family is okay, alright? Here's my card if you have any more information or if you need to contact me. Stay safe and Mr. Fong, keep up the great work at the club." Evan gives him a smile before kneeling down to my side and picks me up bridal style.
"Gosh my beautiful mess, I told you, justice will always be served and soon enough we'll all have our family dinners once again. Thank you all again gentleman, now to calm down my mistress," He says laughing as he walks us towards the doors. I smile at them as I hold onto Evan, once out the door I sigh and wipe at my eyes.
"You did great Mrs. Fong, don't know how you pulled that off, but you fucking pulled that off," Evan says as he kisses my cheek. He sets me down by the passenger door of his Entity XF and goes to the driver's door.
"Guy's I think now's our window of opportunity. We better get moving now while traffic is low and no one is out at the moment." Brock says as he stands up from the computer. We all look at one another. We're ready for our reason for getting attacked, we're ready for Warren to go down.
I sit on the edge of the helicopter with Evan behind me and Brian in the seat next to Lui. All of us having an equal amount of silenced weapons if things go quietly and heavy artillery if things don't go so quietly.
"Remember we're all going to coordinate with one another about attacks so this can go as smoothly as possible. I don't want any casualties on our end tonight." Evan says in the mic as Lui lowers the helicopter as close as he can get to the building.
Evan, Brian, and I jump out and drop a couple of feet to the roof of the building as Lui flys away to land at a nearby building to snipe at the windows. Evan pulls down his owl masks as I bring up my bandana. I raise up the silenced pistol and take out the two cameras at the entrance as Evan raises his pistol and opens the door for Brian and I. We got in the building and as we went down the stairs, the lights turned on although it was silent. We stopped and pressed against the wall, waiting if we can hear anything, still nothing. Evan points up at the ceiling, Brian and I look up as he shoots at a motion capture camera.
"Motion capture cameras are going to be all over the place so watch out for them," Evan says quietly underneath his masks.
We continue our trek down the flight of stairs and toward a set of double doors, the lights off on the other side. Evan opens up the door and the light from the staircase shines in the room. He peers around and shakes his head and closes the door. He switches the channel on his walkie so only Brian and I can hear it.
"It's an office, bunch of desks and computers, no other room to it, we'll continue on," Evan says as he switches channels again and goes down the stairs to the next floor.
We go down two more floors and again run into more offices. We continue to go down the stairwell.
"Are we sure we got the right building?" Brian asks. Evan looks back at us and as if on cue we could hear gunshots coming from the floors below us.
We run down the stairs only to be greeted by men coming upstairs. We pull out our Carbine rifles and shoot at the guys coming towards us. Once they fall down and blood is flowing out from their gunshot wounds we go to the open floor and see at least 20 more guys getting out of their beds and grabbing onto their weapons. Brian and I take cover behind an empty bunk bed as Evan goes to the one across from us and takes out the people coming from our back. Brian and I getting the people coming from Evan's back.
"I SAW HIM I SAW HIM! HE'S MAKING A RUN UP TO THE ROOF! HE'S ALREADY RAN UP SOME SIDESTAIRCASE! I COULDN'T GET A SHOT AT HIM THOUGH!" Basically yells in his headset.
I shoot the last guy running after Brian and I in the head a couple of times and lower my Carbine Rifle. I turn around and reload my gun while running back up the stairs we just came from. I was already on the 5th floor before Evan was yelling at me to wait. I saw the light turn on in the set of double doors and I kick open the door and hold out my gun in front of me.
In the back left corner of the office, Warren was in an all glass-walled office gathering different things off of the desk. I shoot at him but the glass doesn't even shatter, instead, the bullet ricochets off of the glass and comes back and goes right through my arm. I tightly close my eyes and grab onto my arm as I run to him. He looks up at me and stops what he's doing as I kick his office door open. I fought the pain and held the gun at him again.
"You don't think I was dumb enough to have just regular glass installed for my office now my dear? I thought you were content with all the money? Why are you doing this to my men and I?" He asks as he slowly lifts his hands up to surrender.
"I should be asking you that," I say coldly as I press the barrel of the gun at his chest which was how high I can lift it up without my arm screaming and burning at me to stop.
"HOPE GET OUT OF THERE! WE'RE ON THE 5TH FLOOR GUYS!" Evan yells as he aims his gun up and shoots two rounds, I hear the bullets bounce off the glass and Evan grunting loudly in pain.
"I wouldn't do that, my old friend. The glass is bulletproof one way and can only be broke from my side. My team invented it in case of things like this were to happen." Warren yells out before turning to me again. Evan and Brian both run in and stand behind me, their guns also pointing at him.
"Answer the fucking question. Why are you doing this to my family and I?" I say. He chuckles and shakes his head.
"Who do you think was the last one to truly leave Evan's party back in July? Sure it was me who left that night last, but you were the one who left that morning. I knew if I got you away from Evan I could get him back in my business and become even more successful. I just didn't expect you to survive, so for plan B, what better way to get rid of Evan's gang members than to try and kill them?" He says as he looks between the two of us.
Suddenly he pushes me back hard enough to where I fall back into Brian. Brian collides with the glass behind us and it breaks instantly. We fall back all the way to the floor, me colliding with his chest. I push myself off of Brian and watch as he grabs Evans gun and hits him with the butt of it, Evan turns his head with the impact and fell to the ground, already out cold.
I throw the gun away from Warren and grab my pistol from my waistband. Before I could even pull it out I felt a cold metal object enter my stomach and begin to twist inside of me before it starts to drag along my gut. Tears were streaming down my eyes now as I grab onto his neck and push him as hard as I can towards the window behind him. I banged his head as hard as I could against the glass, making it break. I let go of his neck and push him out the window, but as soon as he fell back he grabbed my arm and pulled me with him.
We fell from the 5th floor all the way to the top of a car. As soon as he hit the car, I saw his neck take a 180 turn and knew he was dead, I landed on top of him and felt the eyes roll to the back of my head as my head thudded against the metal of the car, everything going instantly dark.
(Brians POV)
I fell down to my knees and continued to stare forward as if she would appear again. I waited, I waited for her to climb back up and start laughing. I waited for some superhero to appear out of nowhere and hold her as he brought her back to safety. I waited for her to appear behind me and surprise me. I waited, but the only thing that came was my tears. I tightly shut my eyes as I fell on my ass and hugged my knees, crying into them until who knows how long.
"EVAN! EVAN WAKE UP!" Craig yells beside me, practically scaring me.
My steady tears turned into sobs as I looked up and turned to a still passed out Evan on the ground. I turned to the window again as Delirious and Brock look down. Brock turns around and falls onto his hands and knees and starts throwing up while beginning to cry as Delirious continues to look. The rest of the guys except Craig go to the busted window and look down. I go back to sobbing in my knees, not bothering to care for how they were going to react. I head Evan gasp awake before yelling in pain, probably from the bullet wounds.
"WHERE'S... HOPE?!" Evan yells. I bring my head up and rest it on the thin metal frame behind me. My crying somehow got even worse as it was echoing throughout the whole floor, even Brock stopped throwing up so it was only me that could be heard.
Evan pushes Craig away and gets up, yanking off his owl masks. He makes his way through the small crowd and looks down. My sobs stop as quickly as they started as they turn into laughs, everyone stopped and turned to me as I shook my head and stood up. Evan crying just as much as I am.
"Foolproof plan. That's what you said right? Well congratulations Evan, you killed the only girl that I, or Craig, or you has ever loved. And I was the one who fucking watched her die." I say as I started clapping, the tears still streaming down my face. He continued to cry as he shut his eyes and grabbed at his hair.
