Chapter 55
The one who cared from the beginning when all the guys practically hated Hope... it's Brock! The next chapter we have Evan... I hope that you're ready. The song is My Love by Blackmill!
(Hopes POV)
"HOPE GET IN HERE NOW!" Brock yelled, scaring me out of my slumber. He never yells for me.
I kick the blankets off of me and run out of my room toward where the guy's voices were heard. I go into the living room where the guys made a circle around someone. Evan runs up next to me only in his shorts that he went to bed in while I was wearing one of his black shirts and underwear underneath. Craig turns around and in his arms is a small orange and white corgi puppy. I bring my hands to my mouth and gasp.
"He was left at the front door a few minutes ago in a box with this tapped to his collar," Brian says as he hands me a folded white piece of paper. I take the unopened taped paper and open it up, Evan leaning over my shoulder to see what it said.
"A little birdie told me that your favorite breed of dogs is a Corgi. Name him whatever you please, because I know that when you have this dog, you'll be thinking of me. Signed your secret admirer." I read out loud. I look at Brian confused.
"You got me a dog? You're the only one that really knows that I like Corgi's and knows where this place is." I ask Brian. He gives me a confused look and shakes his head no. Okay so it wasn't Brian. Did I tell Evan that I like Corgis and just not remember it?
"Evan, did you get him for me?" I ask turning to an also confused Evan. He shakes his head no as well. I look back at the puppy as he looks at me.
"He is cute, I mean look at him. He's going to be our guard dog to this place. Come here you." I say as Craig hands me the puppy. I laugh as he starts to sniff me all over.
"I don't like this, not one fucking bit. Not only does someone know we're here, but they could've put some tracker in that dog." Evan says crossing his arms. I turn to Evan and hold the puppy out in front of me.
"Why don't you like me. I didn't choose to be here, please let me stay." I say in the best high pitched voice I can get as I move the puppy around as if it was talking. A couple of the guys quietly laugh behind me.
"Hope I'm serious. Not to mention the note. From your secret admirer? I just feel like this is some sort of trap." I roll my eyes as I turn the puppy around so he's facing me and walk away from Evan.
"It's alright, one daddy doesn't like you, but there's eight more that love you just as much as I do," I say in a baby voice.
"Look, I'll go get supplies and go to the vet to see if he's chipped or not. But we're keeping this little chonker." I set the puppy down as he waddles his little legs over to Evan.
"Come on you heartless being! That puppy wants your attention and you want nothing to do with it!" David exclaims. Evan kneels down and slowly pets the puppy. A small smile coming onto his face.
"Fine, just be back in an hour so I can post the picture and we can all witness the media fall into shambles," Evan says looking up at me. I start to smile and nod my head.
After getting ready for the day, Brock tagged along with me as I went to the vet first. We found out the puppy wasn't microchipped at all so I paid for that before going to a nearby pet store to spoil this dog. Brock waited in the car with the dog while I quickly picked out food, treat, toys, and a couple of beds big enough for a Great Dane. My cart collided with someone as I was heading to the checkout. I look up and see Jordan carrying two big things of dog food on each shoulder. It's just a coincidence Hope, a lot of people have dogs in Los Santos.
"Looks like your expecting a new visitor in your life by the looks of it." He says as he gets behind me in line. I smile and nod my head.
"He just popped right up at my place this morning, I want to spoil him as much as u can as if he was my own child," I say giggling a little. He sets the two things of dog food down as he holds out his hand for me to shake it.
"I want to say how sorry I am for treating such a nice, beautiful, lady so horrible last night. Alcohol gets the best of me sometimes and I didn't act like the gentleman that I need to be." He says. Maybe he doesn't know that I know that Evan and Vanoss are the same person. I smile and shake his hand.
"I've been called a lot worse, believe me." I stop shaking his hand as I move forward in the line.
"Forgive me for asking this, but have you heard of the Vanoss Crew?" He asks me. I feel my face heat up, I can play dumb and hopefully get away with it.
"I mean who hasn't heard of them. Evan is scared for me so much that he's teaching me as well as taking me to self-defense classes just in case I ever get in a bad situation with them or anyone bad for the matter." I say innocently. I watch as he smiles and nods his head.
"I guess I was wrong about him last night. He seems to really look out for you and makes sure you're well protected in the big scary city filled with gang members. Even if he isn't around, you can take care of yourself." He says as he picks up the two things of dog food and sets them on the counter. "You can scan her items with mine, it's on the house." He says as he pulls out his phone and wallet.
"This is my rescue right here. His name's Milo." He shows me a picture of him with a Pitbull who's licking his face all happy. Other gangs have Pitbulls, Rottweiler, and other scary dogs. The Vanoss Crew has a chubby puppy Corgi now.
"Tell Milo that I love him, dogs are my one weakness let me tell you," I say laughing as the cashier finishes up ringing up all of my things. Jordan raises an eyebrow and smirks.
"I guess everyone has a few weaknesses while you surprisingly have one. Yours is just a cute animal it seems like." He says. That and if you took Evan away from me, but you don't need to know that.
"I was bitten in the face by a German Sheppard when I was like five. I vowed myself to not be afraid of them and love all dogs unconditionally." I shrug my shoulders and look back at my cart.
"Good philosophy you have there. Hey, have fun with your new dog, whatever it is I'm sure it will love you much more than you love it." He says as he hands his card to the cashier. I smile at him and walk towards the door, pushing my cart with me.
I put all of the dog items in the trunk of Brock's car except for a small bone and get in the passenger seat. The puppy wiggles out of Brock's arms and climbs onto my lap as I give him the small bone.
"Jordan was in there, he paid for my things... again," I say as I look out the window as we head back to the warehouse.
"Did he say anything weird to you?" He asks. I nod my head as I look over at him.
"He asked if I knew the Vanoss Crew and I played the dumb card by saying yes I do because who hasn't and how Evan is teaching me to defend myself. He then goes on saying how it's a good thing that he's watching and protecting over me in this big scary gang filled city." I say beginning to laugh. Brock rolls his eyes and sighs.
"In my opinion, Jordan can be a lot more, intimidating than Seth can. While Seth is more one the physical aspect of things. Jordan is more of the get in your head and mess with it. Makes people turn against each other or use them to do his dirty deeds. Explains why he became a psychologist and a big business owner. It's all just a game to him and he's playing god in it." Brock says as he takes a quick glance at me.
"You don't think he knows about me knowing about Evan number two does he?" I ask. Brock nods his heads.
"He knows Evan like the back of his hand. So of course he knows about you and Evan and most likely you being in the crew as well. Although you playing the dumb card was probably bad on your part after how you said you can defend yourself against gang members and anything else. Then again, Jordan is unpredictable so who knows." Brock says as he turns on the road toward the warehouse.
"You don't think this picture will... start something... will it?" I ask, genuinely concerned. Brock stares ahead of him as he thinks for a second.
"I don't know Hope, but I know this is going to be a huge fucking thing and it's going to make some people scared of us and others fearless of us." I nod my head as I look down at the puppy as he starts to bite my fingers. I smile as I start playing around with him.
Brock helped carry the things inside the warehouse. Brian came to the door and carried in the puppy, he seems to be more obsessed with it than I am at the moment.
"Evan just posted the picture a few minutes ago. We're in the living room watching the news waiting." Lui says as he leans on the door to the living room. Brock and I set the things down except for a couple of toys and a bed and go to the living room with Brian.
"You have to give the news a few Marcel, it isn't going to come on instantly," I say as I set the bed and toys on the ground, taking a seat next to Craig on the couch.
"Well considering I sent it to a couple of news agencies under a made-up email, I would hope they would show it pretty fast," Evan says as he walks into the room.
I turn my head and see that he's finally dressed for the day. I turn back to look at the tv as the guy news anchor puts a finger to his ear like he's listening in on something. His eyes go wide as he looks over at his female cohost.
"Sorry for the delay folks, we were just informed of a photo that was sent to us a few moments ago with a very disturbing caption." The female says she gets out of her chair and walks around the desk and toward the camera, the guy doing the same as if they were looking at something.
"I just got chills down my spine, oh my god," The female says as she shakes her head in disbelief. Evan sits down in the chair next to the couch and smiles at the tv.
"Did a little bit of editing to the picture with Del's help of course," Evan says, not breaking eye contact with the tv. The tv goes black for a second as the picture of us comes up on the screen. We start to clap and cheer at it.
"Excuse the excess language that's being used but the caption reads 'The Vanoss Crew is ready to fuck shit up. The worse is yet to come from us, this is your warning to prepare while you still have the chance." The females says in a scared voice. I chuckle a little and look over at Evan.
"What are we going to do exactly?" Evan smiles and shrugs his shoulders.
"Hell if I know, that's the scare tactic to get people even more scared of us." Evan begins laughing as he looks back at the T.V.
The channel was being changed to another News station as once again, our picture is taking up the whole flat screen. The guys and I start laughing again as we now all high five each other. Maybe this wasn't a bad idea after all.
