Introductions Pt.2
Blackberry was late. He was running in, being late with so little staff and a lot of people... you'd be called out and he most definitely was.
"You're late!" Killer hollered the minute Blackberry came through the door.
"Yes sir..." Blackberry shriveled when he saw there were already people at the bar...
Thankfully, he was in his uniform. So he just slipped behind the counter.
The first thing he noticed was someone who couldn't handle their liquor, face down holding a small cup of whiskey, or some alcohol of that nature...
He sighed not wanting to deal with this this early in his shift, so he left the blue jacketed fellow be and tended to his other customers.
Blackberry looked over when the blue hooded drunk started moving and cried out a few upset words.
Blackberry decided he was going to talk to him, doubts swelled, he shook them off and drummed the bar to get the drunk's attention.
"Hey..." the drunk responded.
"Looks like you need another." Blackberry said leaning against the counter.
"Pro'ly shouldn', have ta drive home..." the drunk shrugged. He pulled his hood down.
"Geez dude it sounds like you shouldn't be driving at all." Blackberry grimaced.
Another shrug. "Pro'ly, what brings you here?"
"I work here." Blackberry smiled, he liked the drunks that were dumbed down and clueless, they were fun to mess with.
Better than the angry ones that tend to start fights for no reason. He dated someone like that before... he didn't like it...
"Welp! I'm officially drunk..." The—what Blackberry now recognized what his species was—skeleton sat up fully, looking a bit distressed.
"Yup, but that doesn't mean you can't stay." Blackberry hummed.
The skeleton chuckled and looked at Blackberry. "Tryin to make me stay? Sure you want this drunk, depressed heap here?"
"I don't mind, it's better than th—" Blackberry yelped as a paper airplane hit his ass. Blackberry picked it up off the ground and grumbled few words as he crumbled the paper up.
"I'll be back..."
The—apparently not too drunk—skeleton smiling watching with an entertained smile as Blackberry stormed over to the small group of idiots.
"Shall I remind you I have the right to refuse to serve you! So behave yourself or I'll kick you out!" Blackberry snapped, he slammed the once decent paper airplane on the counter.
"Now order, or leave!" Blackberry waited. The group decided to pay and leave. After attending to a few more customers Blackberry returned to the awaiting skelly.
"Hey, so staying or leaving?" Blackberry asked with a small false smile.
The skeleton shrugged again "If you want me to. It's lonely at my apartment."
Blackberry shrugged "Nah I'll get in trouble if I make you stay without you looking like you're going to order something."
Blackberry pulled out a menu and handed it to the blue hooded skeleton. "Here pretend to order, feel free to call me over if you want to talk, I'm here ALL night long."
The skeleton nodded and took it, looking through it as Blackberry tended to his customers again.
It'd be a while before Blackberry came back over, at first it was just to check on him, but the second time...
"You know you don't really have to order anything if you don't want to." Blackberry leaned on the counter. The skeleton only smiled and shrugged.
"It gives me a reason to talk to you."
"You don't need a reason, do you?" Blackberry chuckled.
Giving Black an amused smile, he gave him another shrug "Pro'ly do as yer manager might not like ya stayin' with me while your supposed to be workin'."
"Oh... you got me there." Blackberry had a faint blush at his pointed out fault. "So you have some idea in mind?"
He gave Blackberry an earnest chuckle. "Any free time you have come over here? Just answer when people call you."
Blackberry straightened at that last part, taking slight offense.
"I do! Ish... watch me! I'm going to go to a customer right now!" Blackberry walked to this one cat-fish-humanoid-hybrid monster.
The skeleton watched amused as Blackberry gave them their bill and took their card for them to pay.
Blackberry was slightly disappointed it was not a drink order, but he still felt accomplished when he finished. He snuck a victorious look to the skeleton, the skeleton in turn waved Black back over and Black came back after he grabbed his measly tip.
"Yes? Valued customer?" He smirked, he leaned on the counter again.
"You don't have to call me that, the name's Classic." He finally introduced himself.
"Oo~ first name basis now? I'm Blackberry." He smiled at Classic.
Classic hummed "How long have you been working here?"
"Since... hmmm... three years as of next Thursday, I believe... Why? Thinking about stealing my job?" Blackberry jested
Classic chuckled and shook his head. "No, I'm a writer."
"A writer? What do you write about?" Blackberry asked. Classic leaned on the counter and smiled watching Blackberry a bit.
"Whatever comes to mind." He hummed. Blackberry watched Classic's eyes.
"What? You going to write about a sexy bartender?" Blackberry teased, he earned a chuckle from the other.
"Want me to?" Classic's tired eye lights moved to Black's eyes and he wink when he knew Blackberry was looking.
Blackberry laughed.
"You're funny! I mean, who would even want to be in a book?" He sighed contently.
"You'd be surprised..." Classic hummed.
"I guess so." Blackberry shrugged.
"BLACK!!" Killer shouted at Blackberry, he flinched and smiled wearily at Killer.
"Shit... I-I'll be back..." Blackberry shuffled away from the bar.
'Maybe...' he mentally added as he walked over to Killer.
Classic watched like a curious teen.
"Black you're supposed to be working! NOT ROMANTICIZING!" Killer scolded.
"Sorry... I'll not do that anymore..." Blackberry shrank a little, trying to make himself smaller, Blackberry tried to stalk off.
"I'm not done!" Killer grabbed Blackberry's forearm, instead of his intended target... Blackberry yelped.
Killer yanked Black back over and whispered, Black deciding only to say 'yes sir' and 'no sir' at this point.
When he was released, he avoided Classic for a minute or two and once Killer stopped watching him like a hawk Black returned to him like a beaten pup. He grabbed a napkin scribbled down his number slid it to Classic and moved away again, he expected Classic to look at it, discard it, and leave.
But, instead Classic put the number in his phone and waited, he raised his hand in the air and put money on the counter.
Blackberry walked over, he looked like a dog with a cone on his head.
He got a receipt and and handed it to Classic who accepted it graciously.
"See you soon, maybe..." Blackberry smiled weakly
"If I don't see you again I'll be majorly disappointed." Classic hummed, sliding the cash over.
"Oh?" Blackberry blinked. "Was I that good?"
Classic stood and with a small nod he said "Yep!" He walked to his car.
Blackberry smiled feeling better, feeling even better when he looked at the counter, he went off to finish the rest of his rounds.
