Finally ~ Rex

Quick Note!!!!

(............) means time jump!

and this covers so much time I'm so sorry oops

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You and Obi-Wan kept charging at Dooku. You found yourself with pretty much the entire Grand Army of the Republic on Geonosis, the same place this war started. In an ironic turn of events, it was seeming as if the war was about to end here as well. All the droid production factories were destroyed and the last of what was left of the separatist army was being sent to Geonosis.
Fortunately for the Republic, Ventress left the Sith and Grevious was killed by Anakin, leaving only Dooku and the Sith Lord left as the supreme leaders of the separatists. The end looked so close in sight.
"(Y/N)!" Obi-Wan yelled, "Go back to the men! I'll take it from here!"
Hesitant at first you nodded, then hopped on a speeder to get back to the heat of the battle. The separatist droids seemed to be retreating as thousands of clones were clearly dominating this battle. You finally made you way to the makeshift base where some of the 501st was congregation while the retreat was taking place.
"Hey boys!" you cheered, hoping off the speeder. All the boys greeted you as Rex simply just took off his helmet. Seeing him alive was always a relief for you. Even though it was strictly forbidden, you and Rex found yourselves in love not long after you met. The mission always came first, but it was definitely hard to feel that way, on both ends. You could sense the the feeling of relief in Rex. Everyday you both dreamed of the day the war would end. A finished war meant not only freedom of all the clones, but freedom for you and Rex to live your lives in love, without war.
"Captain, General Kenobi has asked me to show you something," you commanded. It was a complete lie but you wanted a quick second with him in private. Even though your relationship was a "secret" Fives was able to figure it out. Fives winked at Rex as he put his helmet back on and followed you.
After about a minute, you found a spot that was somewhat blocked off from everyone else. Well, enough that it would give you and Rex privacy.
As you as you two had privacy he threw off his helmet and wrapped you up in his arms. "(Y/N), it's happening!" he exclaimed, jumping up and down.
"Rex, Rex, Rex, slow down. It's not over yet, but I know there's  finally an end in sight" you assure him, making sure he doesn't jump to conclusions too fast.
He put you down and sighed, "I'm sorry, it's just maybe, finally, we are getting close to a normal relationship."
"Oh love," you whispered, grabbing both his hands and looking into his eyes. "we both know that is going to happen no matter what happens in this war."
He gave you a soft smile.  You looked into his eyes and the whole world around you just seemed to melt away. It was only you and him. Everything was perfect. It felt like everything else just escaped your mind. He held you in his arms, resting his head on your shoulder.
Rex kept strengthening his hold on you until he saw a flash light up the sky. "Back to war I suppose," he shrugged, putting his helmet back on and rushing away.
You watched him run away and just stood there like a lost child.  Every single time he went to fight, you knew there was a chance he wouldn't make it. It was a pain you had to suffer every time he had to fight, but what else could you do about it. Not sure what to do, you decided to go after Obi-Wan to see if he was having any success with Dooku.
(..........................)
You fell to your knees and dropped your lightsaber. This was the moment everyone was waiting for. With Dooku killed and the reminder of the droid army destroyed, there was nothing left except the Sith Lord; which was a whole different situation. Regardless, the war finally just ended. You were still on the ground, your eyes shut. Suddenly, you felt someone lunge at you from behind. It was Rex. You ripped off his helmet the force of his impact rolled the both of you on the ground.
"Rex it's-"
He cut you off with a kiss before you could finish your sentence. At this point, you didn't even care who saw, and neither did he. The two of you just laid in the sand in each other's arms.  He looked at you and smiled. In his eyes you saw all the secret plans you have made with him. Before there was even an end in sight, you two made post war plans together. There was a lovely home on Naboo that would make a perfect place for you two to begin life together. The dreams you created together were finally about to come true. You were enjoying each other's embrace while drowning out the sounds of the men cheering all around.
"I knew it!" Jesse screamed, pointing at you and Rex.
You quickly jumped up, both you and Rex flushed with embarrassment.
"Hey, we've always wanted it to happen anyway," Hardcase remarked,  winking at Rex.
(............................)
You went back to the Jedi Temple after the celebration on the Jedi Cruiser. Before you began the life you wanted with Rex, you had to discuss the terms of this with the Council.
"I believe it's time for me to part ways with the Jedi Order," you explained to the council. "Unfortunately, I feel incapable of fulfilling my duties of a Jedi as I have formed an attachment. I haven fallen deeply in a love with one of the clones."
"(Y/N), you alone cannot make that decision, the force will," Master Windu informed you.
"Your lightsaber, activate it you must," Yoda chimed in.
Confused, you clipped it off your belt and activated it. Your eyes widened. The faces of the masters on the council fell. Your violet saber has turned white. Your lightsaber has been cleaned of its color. It has been balanced. There was no evil, no good. Neutral.
"Your time, it is," Yoda remarked as you left the council room.
Outside the council room was a nervous Rex. He was still wearing his amour and carrying his dual blasters, regardless of the war ending. Once he saw you exit the room, he perked up a bit.
"So?" he asked, you could hear impending excitement in his voice.
You grabbed both his hands and got on your tippy toes to kiss him, "Let's go to Naboo."
Rex took control of the small ship you two were using to travel. Though you were so excited to finally live your life with Rex, you still felt hurt by the force, as it took the Jedi title out of you. Though you were still strong with the force, you were no longer associated with the Jedi Order. It was a weird sensation, a draining sensation. Before long, you drifted asleep in the co-pilot seat.
"We're here love," Rex smiled, softly rubbing your head to wake you up.
You quickly jumped out of your chair and kissed his cheek. "I have a surprise for you!"
"Oh really," Rex raised an eyebrow. You both exited the ship and entered the place you both would now call your forever home. As he entered the home, he gasped. During the small free time you had, you would frequently come here and prepare it for the war ending. Furnishing it, painting it, anything that made it feel more home like.
"It's perfect," he smiled, lifting you up and spinning you around, "plus, Fives, Jesse, Kix, Hardcase and the gang are only living a short speeder drive away!"
You laughed at his response, "of course. Now let's, get settled."
After the two of you were situated in the home, you went out to get groceries together and came back to make dinner.
Rex had a nervous look on his face
"What's bothering you?" you asked, giving him loving eyes.
Rex looked down at his plate and sighed, "Something isn't right."
You looked at him with worried eyes, "something isn't right with what?"
"Us," he stuttered as he got up from the table and reached his hands in his sweatpants pocket.
"Whoa whoa whoa, Rex. What's that supposed to mean," you nearly screamed, worried you threw your Jedi life in the bag for nothing. He didn't say anything, "Rex I swear you better-"
"(Y/N)," he interrupted you.
"Yes?"
"What's not right is the fact that this hasn't happened yet," he got down on one knee, "will you marry me?"
Your jaw dropped, "Rex! Yes! I'm so sorry I freaked out I just-" he stopped you with a kiss.
That was the moment you knew that finally, every aspect of the war was over. The physical war was over, the mental war was over, the emotional war was over.  You took a step back from his kiss as he slipped the ring on your finger.
"Rex, it's gorgeous, how did you get this?!" you said in awe.
Rex scratched the back of his neck, "Are you sure you aren't just saying that? Because I made it with a little help from Fives. I would collect any precious metals I would find on planets, then when I got the opportunity, I would sand it down and buff it to make it perfect. I know it isn't much but it's-"
"Perfect." you finished, wrapping your arms around him.
Before long, the two of you laid together in bed, your head resting on his shoulder.
"We did it (Y/N)," he whispered, placing a small kiss on your head.
You laughed, "a clone and a Jedi, who would have thought?"
"Apparently half the 501st!" Rex remarked, giving you a wink.
You laughed again and kissed him. "Goodnight Rex."
"May tonight be the first night of the rest of our lives," he whispered back, "I love you (Y/N)."
(...........)
It's been about a month since the war ended and everything was perfect. You and Rex had a private, but perfect wedding. It was a short engagement but the war taught you both that you never know what can happen. Before something terrible started back up in the universe again, you decided to marry so you could have a valid commitment much more important than war.
"You ready to go?" Rex asked, eager to get going.
"Yeah! One minute!" you yelled back from the bathroom. Rex was getting together with Hardcase, Fives, Kix and Jesse tonight and they insisted you came with. Besides, after everything you have been through together, you are one of the boys. You leaned against the vanity in the bathroom as another wave of nausea over came you. You were also looking forward to seeing the boys so this sickness was upsetting you.
"I'm ready," you smiled, leaving the bathroom, "but can we make a quick stop to the pharmacy first? I need some medicine. I don't feel great."
Rex frowned, "are you okay? Are well enough to go? If you can't it's totally okay, we can go another time!"
"No no!" you reassured him, "as long as we stop I'll be fine!"
"If you say so!" he shrugged as the two of you left to see them.
At the pharmacy, you went straight to the nausea section and picked whatever. When you went to pay, you walked past the family isle. You looked at the pregnancy tests and thought about it. "It could be" you thought as you picked one up. You paid and quickly went outside to Rex so you could get to the boys.
(...........)
"Look who's here!" Fives yelled, pulling Rex in for a bro hug.
"General!" Jesse exclaimed, glad to see you again.
You shook your head, "the war is over boys! It's (Y/N) not general!"
As Rex started to get settled with his brothers, you went over to the bathroom. You took the nausea medicine first, then stared at the pregnancy test. You shrugged, took it, then patiently awaited. You were somewhat nervous, but you knew Rex would be excited. It was something you two have bought up a few times, but never really had a full blown conversation about it.
The test flashed. Pregnant.
"Oh my force", you thought. Quickly, you wrapped the test up then left the bathroom.
The rest of the night was fun. It reminded you of the old times. Not the war, but the moments you got to spend with the boys. After hours of laughter, you and Rex decided to leave.
Back at your house, you ran to your room without saying a word to Rex. He followed you.
"What is it?" he asked, smiling.
"What is what?" you replied, smirking like you were hiding something. You rolled on the bed then sat up with your legs crossed, patting the bed in front of you to have him come over. He did as you motioned. "I have a surprise."
"A surprise?" he questioned, not really sure with what you had in mind.
"Yes!" you laughed, "now, close your eyes and hold out your hands." He did as you instructed, and you placed the positive test in his hands. "Open."
"What's this?" he looked at it funky, "OH MY GOSH!" he screamed. "I'm going to be dad?!"
Your smiled like you never had before, "Yes Rex!"
And right there and then is when everything you ever dreamed of together finally came true. You were married, had a home, and now were having a child.
Rex put his hands on your cheeks and kissed you, "and just like that, I am no longer a clone, but a husband and father." He started tearing up with happiness which eventually spread to you.
Life was finally as you planned.
