Dawn paced in a small cave. Her grey wings unfolded to their full length. Barely a foxlength. Her blue-grey paws kicking up the dirt and staining her belly.

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no," she repeated. Little did she know a small set of eyes were staring at her. No, watching, boring into her soul, eating her alive.

How? The kit!  Her emerald green eyes sparkled with defiance, yet, mistrust. It can't know. She paced.

The sun rose and set. The scents around the stressed cat were fading, being replaced with the smell of anxiety, fright, disappointment.
