On Deck

"General on Deck!" yelled an officer as General Ahsoka Tano walked into the War Room of the Resolute, Anakin Skywalker's old flagship during the clone war.  As she walked officers and other crew members, they stood to attention, just like the clones had back during the war. It felt wrong.

"At ease." she commanded, as she watched them get back to work. She continued to walk past them until she reached the far end of the room, where she found her strike team assembled around a rotating hologram of Satine's Palace.

"Ahsoka, I was wondering if you had gotten lost." smiled Fives as he looked up from the hologram.

"This place is like a second home to me, Fives." she replied, "I doubt I would get lost on this ship ever." She sighed as she thought about all of the memories the 501st, 212th, Anakin, Obi-Wan and her had made on this flagship.

"You two, this is a mission briefing, not a casual get together." Commander Wolffe looked directly at his old allies. He wore his Phase II armour. His bionic eye told the two of them to focus. He turned to Ahsoka, as she positioned herself around the hologram. "So what's the plan, General Tano?"

"Yeah, what's the plan?" questioned Heavy, pounding his fists, with a huge grin on his face.

"We're going in stealthy." replied Ahsoka.

Heavy's smile faded. "Why can't we just blow a hole through the roof?"

"We're talking about hundreds of civilians, Senators and other people, including Satine herself." replied Ahsoka, "I don't think killing them will make a good impression upon their families, and the galaxy." Ahsoka pointed to the grand hall, where the Gala would take place. "We'll enter as guests and only take down our two targets, Palpatine and...." She paused, not wanting to say who her master had become. "Darth Vader." She looked away from her team for a second. "I want minimal casualties, so no rockets."

"Yes, General." saluted Commander Wolffe, before standing casually beside Fives.

"I can't believe we're about to kick Imperial Butt..." smiled Heavy, before realising he could end up killing his own brothers. "How do we save the others?"

"We don't harm them." responded Fives, turning to his brothers, "We show them that its us and that we're not the enemy that the Empire says we are. We're doing this to bring back peace, democracy, family and to honour those who have fallen in the process of this Rebellion."

Wolffe placed a hand on Fives' shoulder, trying to hide a single tear. Heavy on the other hand, just smiled and nodded at his old team mate.

"Alright then boys, go and prepare for this mission," Ahsoka nodded to them, as Wolffe placed his helmet back over his head, saluted and began to walk off, with Heavy following behind him.

Fives turned to Ahsoka, "What about you-know-who?"

"I'll go and speak to her now, she's been dying to get a chance to prove she isn't a spy." Ahsoka looed at her best friend and smiled, "I know we can trust her to help us."

"Didn't she and Obi-Wan kiss?" asked Fives

"Yup." replied Ahsoka, "I have no idea what would happen if she and Satine ever met..."

"Awkward is the word you're looking for." Fives looked at Ahsoka directly in the eyes. "Can I come with you?"

"Yes, you can come but don't mention the whole Satine relationship." Ahsoka raised an eyebrow, just as Fives began to move his lips.  They both walked past the busy rebels as they looked at star maps and other very complicated diagrams.

After taking the crowded turbolift, Ahsoka led Fives down one long corridor, until she came to this one door on her left. She pressed the buzzer.

A moment passed, as the two of them heard foot steps, the door slid open. It revealed a tall female human with long turquoise hair, pulled back into a loose French braid. She wore a lose dark green tunic dress, with flowing sleeves and a pair of green leggings, with black boots. She smiled as she looked at Ahsoka. "Ahsoka, its nice to see you." she smiled.

"Master Damsin." bowed Ahsoka, before smiling. "How are you?"

"I'm alright, although it does annoy me that I can't teach classes at the minute."  Master Damsin replied. "And call me Taria."

"Um...What about me?" questioned Fives, cutting in.

"Sorry," Ahsoka apologised to Fives before turning to Taria, "This is Fives."

"It's nice to meet you," nodded Taria at Fives, "Please, come in." Ahsoka and Fives walked into her quarters.

Ahsoka sat down on the cot opposite the cot Taria had obviously occupied. Fives sat down nest to his General. Taria just stood by the door. "Are you sure you still want to go ahead with this plan?" Taria questioned, "It seems too risky."

"Do you have any other ideas?" responded Ahsoka. Both Fives and Taria stared at her in silence. "It's all I can think of that will give us the best chance of survival if we need to escape, as well as keep the casualty count down to a minimum."

"What would happen if it all goes wrong?" questioned Fives, "I don't want to die, knowing that we haven't left a mark against the Empire."

"The Force is with us all," replied Damsin, as she let he lightsaber float in front of her for a second, before attaching it to her weapons belt. "We won't fail, trooper. I know we won't, even if we don't succeed, we will have gained a small victory."

"Well I hope that victory involves saving my brothers, and letting the Empire know that we will not stand for their stupid dictatorship and slavery." Fives sighed, as he thought about all of those Wookies who were now stuck in labour camps around the galaxy.

The three of them sat in silence for a moment, not knowing what to say.

Bleep. Bleep. Bleep.

Ahsoka saw her comlink flashing. It was Riyo Chuchi. "Ahsoka, we've just brought in an escape pod in from some rubble of what looked like a cheap civilian shuttle."

"Who is in it?" asked Ahsoka, curiously.

"You won't believe me unless you come and see for yourself." replied Riyo. "Ahsok- Get a medic!"

"What's wrong?" Ahsoka lept to her feet and bounded out the door, Fives and Taria following behind her.

"He's fallen unconscious, and isn't breathing." reported the Senator, sounding panicked. "Hurry, we might need you to heal him."

"Alright," responded Ahsoka, as she ran down the emergency stairs, right next to the turbo life she and Fives had taken earlier.

Entering the main hangar, Ahsoka could see a man lying on the floor, surrounded by medics. She ran over and knelt by his side. When she looked his face, time stopped.
