Another encouraging word from Jet and Sloan Trent from Committed to You.
Jet: Change can be used in a positive way or a negative one. We above all people should know that. We wasted seven years of our lives in negative change. I didn't know why I couldn't commit to Sloan during that time and instead of talking things through I pushed her away and moved to California. Deep in my heart, I didn't want to do that but I had no power to face my issues. Sloan was so hurt by what I did that she moved to Florida. Both of us spent years away from our family and though we were both torn we didn't know how to get past the hurt.
Sloan: It was very painful. Imagine loving someone but you can't ever reach them and the wall between you is so tall that you can't climb over it. But then when Nora and Robert declared that they were getting a divorce that change blew both of our minds. We both rushed home to save them, and as a result, saved ourselves. I beat myself over the head thinking why did the change of Nora and Robert impending divorce make me move when the love of my life leaving me did not.
Jet: From that Sloan and I both learned that we had wasted opportunities in our lives to come together because we didn't use change wisely. We ran from it, instead of embracing it. I've heard that in your world it's tough right now. You might be running from change by living in fear, being upset or bombarded by bad news. Don't do what we did - instead, let this time of change be positive.
Sloan: Yeah, ask yourself what can I learn from this time of change? Where can it lead me? Embrace it knowing that your acceptance of where you are right now can bring you strength and serenity. We are praying for you.
Love Jet and Sloan Trent

The elegant five-tier strawberry cake had been cut and the garter had been tossed. Now Elise and Nora stood arm in arm on the edge of the massive dance floor. The room was flooded with candlelight, and one spotlight was beaming on Jet and Sloan as they took their first dance as husband and wife. The 500 guests circled the dance floor, giving warm looks as the two of them held each other tight in a very slow dance.
"Don't they look absolutely wonderful?" said Nora.
"I can't believe that we finally made it to this day," Elise smiled. "Lord knows this romance has been a long time coming. I'll probably sleep for the next five days, recovering from yesterday."
"I hear you. My heart couldn't take it if Sloan were not in the family. I am so ecstatic for them. To have Sloan and Renatta is more than any mother could dream of." She glanced across the room and smiled as she saw Renatta sitting on Justin's lap with her head on his shoulder and his hand across her stomach.
Sloan looked elegant in her beautiful form-fitting dress. The cream silk hugged every curve, flowing into the mermaid tip. Her curly brown spirals framed her face. The light makeup that Renatta had applied was perfect, highlighting her dark brown eyes and soft, pouty lips. She wore a purple amulet around her neck. Jet was dashing in his charcoal-gray suit and cream-colored shirt and dark purple tie. His hair was spiked in a modern style. Jet's arms encircled her waist, and he swayed against her as they took slow steps around the dance floor. Sloan's arms were draped around his neck. He looked down into her smoky eyes that reflected as much desire as his own and smiled. He leaned into her ear and began to sing the song they were dancing to. She closed her eyes and lowered her head on his chest as his love flowed into her ear. "I knew I loved you before I met you, Sloan," he whispered, mimicking the title of the song.
Maybe it's intuition
But some things you just don't question
Like in your eyes, I see my future in an instant
And there it goes,
I think I found my best friend
I know that it might sound
More than a little crazy
But I believe
I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life
There's just no rhyme or reason
Only the sense of completion
And in your eyes I see
The missing pieces I'm searching for
I think I've found my way home
I know that it might sound
More than a little crazy
But I believe
I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life
A thousand angels dance around you
I am complete now that I've found you
I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life
As he sang those words into her soul, tears spilled and she held him so tight that he could barely breathe. Her mind swept back across time, starting with the first day she laid eyes on Jet Trent and immediately knew that he would be someone special in her life. She felt her toes the first time they'd stepped in the creek and all the crazy love they shared there. Warm memories embraced her of their touches, their laughter and all the happiness they shared through the years. She slowly opened her eyes to find his dark hazel eyes intensely gazing upon her. Sloan's body began to sparkle like the fireflies of Georgia.
There were a million things she wanted to say about how much she loved him, how grateful she was that they were finally one and to remind him of the joy he'd brought into her life. But when she opened her mouth, the only thing that it wanted to do was to find his. She pulled his head down upon her lips and kissed him soundly as the onlookers applauded. When she released him, their eyes locked and she whispered, "We must go." She watched his brow arch and felt it as his palms warmed. She smiled as she watched the pulse point on his neck throb faster.
Jet turned to the crowd. "We would like to thank all of you for coming out. You have made this day most memorable for all of us. There is plenty of food, drinks and dancing. Enjoy the rest of your evening." Another round of applause blanketed them as they slipped through the crowd.
Elise tapped Nora on the shoulder. "They're leaving so soon."
"Did you look at them, dear? They're hotter than fire brands on a cattle prod."
Elise blushed. "But the carriage hasn't even gotten here yet to drive them off. I was so looking forward to taking that picture."
"We'll make use of it," Robert said as he stepped up to them. "All of this love in the air is making me crazy. He leaned down and playfully kissed Nora's neck. "I've got an idea."
"What, Robert?" Elise said.
"We don't want people to leave too early, since our bride and groom are too consumed to be here. I think you and Dillon and Nora and I should have our vows renewed while everyone is here. Pastor is standing right over there."
"That's a lovely idea," Nora said, smiling.
"Then at the end of the day we'll all ride off in the carriage."
"My husband is such a romantic."
Dillon grumbled something under his breath. He glanced over at Elise and rolled his eyes. "I suppose I can have another public display of affection." He scooped Elise around the waist. She was reminded of the steamy kiss they shared in the department store.
She glanced up at him with her eyes twinkling. "Thanks, you old bear."
The DJ spun "Cotton-Eyed Joe," and people flocked to the floor, stepping into a line dance. The click of their heels and the tap of the rhythm filled the room. Dillon raised his voice above the music. "We can all get remarried later, but right now I want to dance." He spun Elise onto the floor. She squeaked in joy, experiencing a blast from her past.
Robert raised his eyebrow and then gazed over at Nora. "I will not be outdone by that old man. Come on, princess." He kissed Nora's hand and led her to the dance floor. They swirled into the rhythm and synchronized stomp of the country song.
"I can't believe my father is dancing," laughed Renatta as she and Justin looked on from their chair.
Justin lifted his cell phone and took a photo of both their parents stomping the two-step. "Perhaps we should join them," he said, kissing her on the cheek. Then he lifted his woman off his lap and led her to the dance floor.

The two-hour drive back to their secluded cabin in Callaway Gardens seemed to be only a minute. Their ride to the deep woods flowed with laughter, the blare of music streaming out the open windows and talks about the beautiful future that lay ahead of them. Jet must have kissed Sloan's hand a thousand times, and she told him that she loved him about that many times too. There was a sense of finality to this moment. They now belonged to each other until forever.
Sloan reminisced about the last time they were at the cabin as the car lights trailed the last road before the cabin. It had recently rained, and the air was fresh with a light floral scent mixed with pine. They knew they were getting closer to the cabin as the croak of more frogs echoed from the creek. They turned into the driveway, and, just as before, the lights were on to welcome them.
Sloan went to step from the car, and Jet told her to stay put. He intended to carry his bride across the threshold. She laughed as he scooped her up, treading the path to the front door. He lowered her long enough to get the key. The door opened to the sound of Frank Sinatra crooning an old love song. Jet smiled at how detailed the coordinators had been to have the most romantic songs filling the air.
He lifted her again and made his way in. This time it wasn't the aroma of fresh baked cookies that greeted them, but something lemony. As they glanced across the room, they saw a lemon cake, decorated with confetti sprinkles, and a bottle of sparkling apple juice chilling in an ice bucket. A note was attached to the bottle that read, "Welcome to the newlyweds—Mr. and Mrs. Jetson Trent." Sloan smiled, "That was so thoughtful."
"It was indeed, Mrs. Trent."
"Wow," she sighed. "I can hardly believe that we finally did it. Jet, we made it to the altar. I'm so happy."
"Not more than I am." He slipped her out of his arms and kissed her. "Mrs. Sloan Trent, that sounds incredible."
"Yes, it does—husband." They laughed.
"Would you care to dance, Mrs. Trent? Jet said, slipping one hand around her waist and the other on her shoulder. He nuzzled her hair and pressed a gentle kiss on her neck. Her answer was stepping into his lead. She leaned her head on his chest. He felt his body warm from the touch. Sweet perfume that she was wearing filled his lungs. He sighed as they waltzed to "The Very Thought of You." Not even heaven could be better than this moment. "I have wanted this moment all my life, Sloan," he whispered.

The roar of applause filled the room as Pastor announced with a broad smile, "I now present to you for the second time of matrimony Mr. and Mrs. Robert Trent and Mr. and Mrs. Dillon Jensen. I must say, in all the years that I've been a pastor, I've never done three weddings at one event. You may now kiss your brides." As Robert and Dillon leaned down to kiss their beloveds, the room erupted in applause once more.
Justin leaned over to Renatta's ear, lifting his voice above the happiness. "Jet and Sloan are not going to believe how our parents gave a nice little twist to their wedding."
"I never thought I'd see my father acting the way he's acting tonight. This is absolutely incredible. My sister came home to save one marriage, and the entire family got struck by the love bug."
Justin gave a belly-rolling laugh. "This will certainly be a year to remember."
He smiled, watching both of their parents across the room. Dillon had popped a cork on a bottle of champagne, and they were filling their glasses for a toast. A group of servers came from the kitchen and began handing out champagne. Renatta took Justin's hand. "I want to make sure that I can say something." When they reached their parents, Renatta whispered something in Elise's ear, and she handed her a microphone. She tapped the mic. "May I have your attention, please?" The noise in the room began to lower. Renatta turned to her parents and in-laws.
"This is one of the happiest days of my life. I have witnessed my dear sister marrying her love. Now I've witnessed something that I would never have expected to see: my parents and my new parents renewing their vows. This is indeed an auspicious occasion. I would like to thank our parents for setting an example for us that true love never dies. It may have to weather some storms, but it will make it through and come out stronger than ever. Their love is an inspiration. May God keep the happiness that we all are feeling at this moment in our heart always."
"Hear, hear," the crowd chanted. Justin took the microphone next.
"To see our parents expressing their love has shown me that I have a lot to look forward to in my marriage to Marcella. This example says to me that I have a responsibility to keep love alive." He turned toward their parents. "I've never seen you all so spirited, and I look forward to the continued example you will set as the years go by."
Robert walked over to Justin and gave him a bear hug. "Son, I'm going to make you proud of how well I intend to take care of your mother from this day forward."
Dillon held up his glass. "To the Trents and the Jensens, young and old forever." Everyone lifted their glass and drank to the happy couples.

One rose-infused candle flickered, casting its shadow upon the bed. Sinatra's love songs infused the air from a distance. Their wedding clothes, discarded in urgency, lay scattered from where they had danced to the floor of the bedroom. She was beneath him—skin to skin. Jet's hand trembled as he restrained his primal desire to immediately take her. His longing was unbearable. Abstinence fueled his hunger, but her needs were more important than his own. He wanted to give her everything that she wanted and needed. What Sloan needed was commitment. He would grind that into her this entire night. She would be possessed and drown in his love. As much as his body ached for her, it would have to wait. He would take his time and watch her shatter like glass.
He lay there in the dimness gazing upon her. "This is like a beautiful dream," he whispered, stroking her face. His dark hazel eyes were heavy with love. Jet scanned her face into his memory. This was a moment he'd never forget. He saw her need and knew he would fill it. Sloan's eyes closed as he feathered kisses down her face.
She took fistfuls of his hair, pulling him down until his mouth slid over hers. She gasped as he delved inside, taking his pleasure. Their lips melded together furiously. The sweet taste of sparkling apple cider was on her tongue. He deepened the kiss, giving as much of himself as she was willing to take. Her moan was welcomed, inviting him to consume her more. That deep kiss became something feral and raw. She began to thrash beneath him. Fire built in his veins. "I want you," he breathed sliding his mouth down to her throat and lingering there. He took notice of her whimpering, and a curve slipped up his lips.
"Take me." Her voice frail as breaking thread seeped into his ear. He dipped his head further as his hands lifted one breast to his mouth and then the other. She arched under him as he played, drawing them into hard peaks.
"In time, my love." Jet marveled at her sensitivity and consumed her until she could barely breathe. As he lifted his mouth to give her some relief, she pressed him to her breasts again. He worked them thoroughly, giving her what she wanted.
"Jet!" she cried, as her hands molded his rock-hard shoulders, then trailed down his back, setting every inch of his skin on fire. He tore his mouth from her breasts, covering her lips again with bewildering kisses. She shuddered at the ferocity of being plundered. It moved her to touch him—to taste. She lowered herself and explored Jet's nipples. She could hear his satisfaction. Her hands slipped over his steel thighs, his tight butt, making him tremble. She caressed him all over. He moaned under the fire of her hands. She kissed him again, taking him to the edge of his own sanity. He lifted himself, looking down into molten pools that reflected his own desire. "I'm committed to you, Sloan, now and forever. I've never loved you more."
When a single tear slipped down her face, his soul ruptured. He had no more restraint left. Only urgency to claim his wife—to become one with the woman he'd loved his entire life. The bed heaved as he rocked powerfully against her. He pressed harder and harder, watching her body as it came alive with want. An utterance of love incomprehensible slipped from her mumbling lips. When he felt her completely open to him, he took her with searing passion.
"You mean everything to me," he breathed in her ear.
Her eyes fluttered open for just a moment—long enough for him to see how much she loved being loved by him. Their union was so transparent, uninhibited as they labored to quench one another. He moved with vigor. Jet felt utterly lost in the beautiful woman who had captured him. His body pounded into hers, over and over, taking on a rhythm so intense that he could see the glass begin to shatter. "You're amazing, Sloan," he breathed. She flailed against the sheets, being too euphoric to utter a response.
Her legs wrapped around his back, elevating the sensation that raged out of control in her core. His heated fervor released her. Sloan let out one pleasantly agonizing scream that let him know that she had ascended to the place where he wanted her to go. She fell back, sweating and limp upon the bed. He was soon to follow, completely satiated and happy with the extreme pleasure he had given to his wife. He lay on top of her, still and at peace, finally bonded to the woman he'd spent seven years longing for. Mine, he thought possessively.
"I love you, Jetson Trent."
He kissed her softly. "I love you too, baby."

They were 40,000 feet in the air, traveling over 500 miles an hour headed for Paris. Jet spent Mustafa's $25,000 well, chartering a private plane and reserving two weeks in an exclusive resort on the French Riviera. What he didn't spend on travel and accommodations, Sloan was sure to spend on shopping as they also planned to tour other regions of Europe. She was very pleased with the gift and ordered an online gift for Mustafa, as a way of saying thank you, which would arrive at his office in two days.
Jet and Sloan had been quite amorous during their eight-hour flight. She was tucked under his arm with mussed-up pillows and sheets scattered across the bed. The comfort of being together was heavenly. Jet kissed the top of her curly hair. "I still can't believe how they upstaged us at our own wedding."
"Justin said it was all Robert's idea to have the vow renewal. What I can't get over is how my father agreed to it all."
"I don't know, Sloan. Something amazing is happening to your dad. I know Mama Elise must love it."
"You're right, Jet. Love is good at any age. I'm grateful that both of our parents got a fresh start."
He pulled Sloan tighter to the curve of his body and kissed her on the cheek. "Me too, baby, but I'm even more grateful that I got a fresh start with you. Sloan, you have always been and will always be everything that I will ever need."

Epilogue
Five months later
Elise and Nora were pacing across the delivery room floor. They were both caught between the joy of the new arrival and the piercing screams of Renatta as she followed the commands of the doctor to push. Justin couldn't take it. He was overwhelmed by his wife's painful situation. The nurses had to escort him from the room. He sat with his head in his hands as Dillon, Robert, Jet and Sloan comforted him.
Jet gave his brother a big slap on the back. "It will be over soon. Hang in there, man."
"Do you all realize that the last time we were in this hospital was the night we found out you were dating Renatta?"
Justin chuckled. "I hadn't thought of that. I suppose we can mark this event as another memorable occasion."
"Yes, indeed," said Dillon. "Our first grandchild—I'm a happy grandpa."
Robert walked over and sidled up to Dillon. "So, what are you going to be called?"
"Oh, we've got that all worked out. I'm Daddy Dillon, and Elise will be Mama El. And you?"
Robert stuck his chest out, feeling that they had better grandparent names. "I'm officially Robipop, and my princess will be Mimi."
Dillon laughed, "Robipop, that's a good one."
The door to the delivery room opened. The doctor came out with a wide grin. He walked over to Justin and shook his hand. "You have a son." Everyone in the room applauded.
Justin popped out of his seat, throwing his hands in the air. "I have a son. I'm so incredibly blessed."
"Congratulations," Jet said, giving his brother a fist bump.
"Thank you, brother. I look forward to being here with you on your big day." He said, nodding his head toward Sloan's ever-expanding stomach. The two of them hugged. Then he looked over to the doctor. "When can we see Marcella and the baby?"
"Really soon. She did wonderfully. I'll send a nurse to get you when we're ready. Sloan, I'll see you and that son of yours in about six months, okay?"
Sloan leaned back into the warm embrace of her husband, nodded her head and smiled.
