Throughout the next week, Jimin and Namjoon texted every single day. They talked to each other almost all day long.
Namjoon had grown quite fond of Jimin. It didn't take long for him to become somewhat attached to him.
He thought the younger was intelligent and extremely charismatic. He was bashful at times, but Namjoon could tell that the boy was warming up to him. He had become more open about certain things and he wouldn't shy away from phone calls or video chats and he embraced the idea of meeting up again.
Namjoon was in the middle of brainstorming a theme for his photography project when his phone pinged, letting him know that he had gotten a text message.
jiminie: Hiiii! How is my favorite hyung doing today?
Joonie Hyung❤️: i'm doing okay
Joonie Hyung❤️: how about you min?
jiminie: I'm doing okay as well.
jiminie: Although, I can't lie. There is something that's bothering me.
Joonie Hyung❤️: what's wrong??
jiminie: I miss you, hyung. :(
Joonie Hyung❤️: you're so cute min
Joonie Hyung❤️: want me to come get you?
jiminie: Only if you're not busy.
Joonie Hyung❤️: on my way
jiminie: Okay! :)
Jimin had texted a smiley face, but he was feeling way more excited and happy than that.
Although he had only known Namjoon for a few weeks, he was attracted to him and was beginning to have feelings for him. There was a lot he liked about the older man and he wasn't sure how long he could contain his emotions.
He was just hoping that Namjoon felt the same way or he was at least interested in him.
Namjoon was kind and sweet to him, but he was having a hard time figuring out if he was just being friendly, or if there was a hint of attraction behind it. He would have to get over his fears and ask about it.
Jimin got ready, just wearing something casual and leaving his hair in its usual fringe. He had become comfortable enough around Namjoon to not feel like he always had to 'dress to impress.'
Joonie Hyung❤️: almost there min
Joonie Hyung❤️: be ready
jiminie: I'm ready, hyung. See you soon!<3
It wasn't even five minutes before Namjoon had pulled up in his car, honking to let Jimin know that he was there (although it was pointless since Jimin had been watching for him).
When Jimin climbed in the car, he looked at Namjoon and smiled. The older returned a smile of his own, making sure Jimin was fastened in before he drove off.
"Where are you taking me, hm?" Jimin asked curiously, looking out the window as they drove.
"There's a little coffee shop I want to take you to. They have all kinds of different flavors. I thought you'd like something like that," Namjoon replied, resting his hand on the younger's knee.
"I do like coffee and varieties of flavors," Jimin giggled, "you know me so well."
"I try my best." Namjoon shrugged his shoulders with a grin.
It was quiet between the two, the only thing making a sound being the radio playing faintly in the background. During this time of silence, Jimin had worked up the courage to ask Namjoon about his feelings.
Thankfully, at the same time, they had parked at the coffee shop. Jimin wanted Namjoon's full attention.
"Hey hyung," he began nonchalantly.
"Hm?"
"Do you.. like me? Like, obviously you like me to some extent or else you wouldn't be taking me places and talking to me. But, do you... like me? If you don't, it's okay, I just–" he was cut off by a pair of warm lips being placed on his own.
Namjoon kissed him softly, pulling away and looking at him. "I like you, Jimin. I like you quite a bit, actually, if I'm being honest."
"You.. you do?" Jimin questioned, his eyes wide with hope.
"I do," the older chuckled at Jimin's surprised expression. "And since we're talking about this..." he trailed off, grabbing one of Jimin's hands and lacing their fingers together. "It's a bit too soon for a relationship, but would you maybe want to start dating and see where it goes from there?"
"I'd love to," Jimin spoke softly, leaning in and kissing Namjoon firmly. He placed a hand on the back of his head, pressing their lips together even rougher.
Smirking against Jimin's lips, Namjoon slipped a hand down his body, resting on his thigh. He rubbed Jimin's thigh slowly.
Jimin pulled away, breathing heavily. He bit his lower lip and gently pushed Namjoon's hand away.
"We should probably go inside the coffee shop, don't you think?" He chuckled, running a hand through his hair.
"Sure. Then we can go back to mine?" Namjoon suggested hesitantly.
The younger agreed and they climbed out of the car, walking into the coffee shop together. They stood in line and ordered, holding each other's hands delicately as they waited for their drinks to be finished.
Once they were, they sat across from each other at a small table. They talked animatedly about random things, Jimin doing most of the talking as he got excited about many things.
As Jimin sat there, his chin rested in his hand, Namjoon whipped his cell phone out and snapped a photo. "That one is going on Instagram too. You're just too cute to not post."
Blushing, Jimin put his hand down and wrapped both of them around his drink, bringing it up to his lips.
———

itsjustjoon: official first date with this cutie. it seems like he's going to be taking up most of my posts and time. i'm not complaining though.
———
"You really are extremely handsome, you know that?" Namjoon complimented, putting his phone away once the photo was posted.
"You're handsome too, hyung," Jimin returned a compliment, reaching across the table and cupping one of Namjoon's cheeks. "Your dimples are adorable," he pointed out as the older smiled at the physical contact.
Soon after, they had finished their drinks and hopped back into Namjoon's car, heading toward the older's home.
Jimin wasn't sure what they were going to do when they got there, but he didn't care.
He was with Namjoon and he knew that the boy felt the same way that he did. That was all that mattered to him.
