???? POV

I don't know what gives someone a drive to live, it has always baffled me. You humans are such interesting creatures, you know that right? Of course you know that. I can tell there are more things you humans are interested in like how to protect each other, save others, make life safer. But your also curious about what comes after life. Death. I know what it is, I know what it means, but that answer is for another time, let's continue our little story......oh bearer mine.

(Y/n) POV

'That was rough' I thought rubbing the back of my neck from the 'sleeping arrangements' made out for us. I put Longbow in my locker and clipped Spectre on my back while First Curse was in it's holster. I turned around to leave and on my way out something rolled on the ground and it stopped right next to my foot 

"Oh hey, that's mine" I heard someone said right next to me and it was a guy wearing a western type outfit with a sort of similar fashion as min, minus the skull, and he had his own cannon 

"You alive?" he said snapping his fingers in front of my face 

"Yeah" I said handing him the cartridge back to him 

"Thanks" and he pulled out his gold and black revolver 

"Pretty, ain't it?" he said loading it 

"Yeah, it's nice"

"I can see you got one too, what's yours called?" and I sun it on my finger 

"First Curse" and he looked at it and inspected  it 

"It looks the part, here's mine" and he held up his gold and black revolver again. It had a wooden looking handle and elaborate gold accents and written on the side was 'The Last Word' 

"Say, you know where we're supposed to be going?" 

"Yeah, to the cliffs" I said and he tipped his hat 

"Thanks, never caught your name?" 

"It's (Y/n)" I told him 

"Ain't got a last name?" 

"Fine, my name is (Y/n) Yor" 

"Nice, mine's Shin Malphur" and we shook hands. Shortly after we made our way to the cliffs and to cut a long story short, were getting teams today, for the rest of our time here 'Please, just don't suck' I said in my head as we started to get launched. I glanced off to my side and the girl with the blue hair was two down from me and Shin was right next to her. I flet someone tug my cloak and I looked and it was the girl that got shoved into me 

"Um, I never got the chance to thank you" 

"No problem, it was easy" I said patting her head and I could feel ears under her silver hair 'Faunas' I thought getting launched into the forest. I stabbed Spectre into a tree and slowly slowed down and landed with a hard thud. I stood up and cracked my neck 'best get a move on' I thought starting to walk away. I could feel myself being watched from somewhere so I pulled out Red Spectre and sprayed behind me, completely showering the bushes with lead and when I finished I heard tow thuds and it was a pair of young Beowolves 

"Young means a pack in nearby" I said out loud  and as if on queue a bunch of Beo's ran out of the bushes. The alpha stood up and growled at me but I smirked at them 'Filthy animals like them need to know their places' I thought taking out First Curse. I aimed right at the wolfs head and when I fired my cannon made a satisfying heavy metallic sound as the bullet punched clean through the grimms skull, killing it instantly. It dropped and the rest of them rushed me. each one died like the last one, pointless and without accomplishing anything. I reloaded my cannon as the grimm bodies dissipated into smoke and I heard rustling behind me, I pointed First Curse at the bush and someone stepped out of it, it was that blue haired girl

 "Looks like we're partners now" she said unamused 

"Fine, let's get moving" I said walking away and she was behind me. We kept going until we came upon a set of old ruins with chess pieces on pillars 

"These the relics?" I said picking up a black queen

 "Probably" she said and we both turned around at someone coming out of the foliage 

"Easy you two, it's just us" Shin said stepping out with that faunas girl. The girl didn't have a weapon on her at all, it seems that I wasn't the only one to notice 

"don't you have some sort of weapon?" the blue haired girl said and she looked startled by that 

"Ummmm" she said quietly 

"It's fine, Maddy doesn't need one, she's got a support semblance" Shin said patting her head 

"Oh, so you can make us better?" the girl said again 

"Yes" Maddy said in her quiet tone. Shin went over and picked up one of the artifacts and we started to head back to the cliffs. A loud noise quickly got our attention 

"What is that?" I said as  massive King Taijitu came through the forest knocking over trees and flattening bushes 

"Do we kill it or run as fast as we can?" Shin said taking out his revolver. I grabbed Red Spectre and looked at Maddy as she was hiding behind the other girl who had twin desert eagles 

"You said you can give us a boost right?" I said as she nodded 

"Give me it" I said now running at the snake. 

"Okay" she said as I sprinted towards the snake. I held my rifle using the bayonet and the snake's head lunged at me and I slid under it, jamming the blade up into the snakes throat I slid down the length cutting it's gut's open and staining the ground red under it. I cut the other snake's jaw in half and I stopped myself on a tree and I stood up 

"There, piece of cake" I said dusting myself off and I went back to the rest of them 

"Let's get a move on" i said and we started to walk away. We got the edge of the cliff and there was a bridge connecting it with the other side. It was barely big enough for one of us to cross at a time. Maddy went first while me and Shin covered the rear. The blue haired girl went next and I went after her adn while I was going across three small deathstalkers came out of the woods hissing at us "Damn" i said turning around to go back 

"Don't worry (Y/n) I got these overgrown bugs" and shin raised his weapon. IT then ignited in a  blaze of fire and he fired three shots, killing the grimm and making their bodies explode violently. Shin smirked and lowered his weapon 

"Dirty varmints" he said spinning his weapon and putting it back in it's holster 

"Well, that's enough action for today, let's get this over with" Shin said and we got the the end of the bridge and we went back to the academy. 

"Never got your name?" I said and my partner sighed 

"It's Tex" 

"Well, Tex, glad to be your partner" and we shook hands.  E got called up to the stage and we stood along with Shin and Maddy 

"Hey guys" Shin said as Ozpin cleared his throat to get our attention 

"Shin Malphur, Maddy Evalon, Tex Remen, and (Y/n) Yor, you four have claimed the queen, from here on out you will be known as team (whatever) and your leader is Shin Malphur, well done you four" and Shin had a look of pride on his face as the audience clapped for us adn we made our way off the stage to begin our four year adventure as a team.

This is what I don't get about you humans, you train for years and years to become warriors, to protect your kind, so the weak don't have to fight those battles. But, what I ask is why? Why sacrifice your own life so that others can sit on their asses and do nothing, nothing at all. And when you come back your only met with praise and welcome but then, nothing at all. Why don't you relish in victory and kill your enemy until nothing is left? I'm only creating more questions for myself, but, I think they'll be answered in time, and I have only a matter of time left.
