Lilly Dixon

Senior year of high school. 4 years 9 days 6 hours 30 minutes 48 seconds left. After all these years I'm finally getting close! Only four years left.

"Hey Lilly, you going to study or not?" my best friend Adam's voice breaks through my thoughts.

"Sorry," I smile apologetically "Just thinking... about this." I say, gesturing towards the small metallic plate on my wrist. Adam frowns slightly. He had long ago convinced me to compare countdowns with him, but had been disappointed when we ended up having very different times. Personally, I had been relieved. As much as I loved Adam as I friend, I could never see myself loving him in that way. So, we were just friends.

Hunter Castor

4 years 9 days 6 hours 30 minutes 48 seconds. As I sit there I think about her. Victoria. She is perfect. The woman I love. Long blonde hair, blue eyes, and a smile that lights up my world. And, her countdown is the same as mine. For as long as I've known her she has been the light of my world. Everything is absolutely perfect! I decide to call her and double check our lunch date. She picks up on the second ring. "Hello?"

"Hey Vic it's me" I smile into the phone.

"Oh hey Hunter," she says, and I can hear the grin on those ruby lips.

"So, are we set for lunch this afternoon?" I ask.

"Of course!" she says. I smile as I press the disconnect button. She is perfect. She is mine.

I sigh as I fill out yet another  college form. 

This is getting ridiculous.

There are so many forms to fill out that I start to wonder if I even want to go to college. I pick up my phone to see if I have any new messages. 

None. I have no friends. 

I sigh to my self and finish filling out the last piece of paper in front of me. Now all that's left to do is send them in and hope and pray that I get accepted.

3 years 7 days 2 hours 4 minutes 32 seconds. It is my finally time for my first college class. Adam looks down at me from his not-so-tall-but-taller-than-me 5'6. "You ready for this?" he asks.

"I hope so." I tell him. He grabs my hand in a protective, older brother manner. When we reach the door Adam squeezes my hand, let's go, and opens the door. The second we walked in, my eyes were drawn to the middle of the room. I see a gorgeous, brown haired guy with an adorable smile that beautifully accents his sea green eyes. I feel a furious blush rise over my neck and cheeks when I notice that he is looking at me as well. I quickly look down and walk to my seat, which happens to be 2 seats behind him. Adam finds a seat across the room from me. I notice something in his eyes. Anger? Jealousy? I can't place it. Class is about to start when the last student bursts into the room.

"Vic!" smiles Brown Hair Green Eyed Beauty. She sees him, and a stunning smile spread across her flawless face.

"Hey Hunter" She says, smiling and walking over to the seat next to him. He greets her with a quick kiss on the lips. I frown. So much for him. Class goes by without a hitch and before I know it Adam and I are eating lunch together.

"So?" he asks, "what did you think?"

"It was fine." I say absentmindedly.

"Oh really." Adam says, raising an eyebrow.

"So what did the professor talk about?" he asked. "Um..." I don't answer, knowing full well that I didn't pay attention in class.

"Aha!" Adam says. "I knew it!"

"You knew what?" I ask innocently.

"You barely took your eyes off the guy the entire time!" Adam practically shouts.

"What guy?" I ask, knowing exactly which guy he was talking about.

"What guy?" Adam mimics in an overly high pitched feminine voice. I roll my eyes and playfully punch him in the shoulder. He smirks at me and we finish our lunch.
