Blue Zircon is more nervous than usual. A Turquoise has asked her on a date to see a movie. She goes about getting ready; putting on a light blue dress, actually doing something with her hair instead of throwing on a hood and just generally trying to look nice.

She then calls Yellow nervously.
"Hey Yellow, you and Amber are going to that movie tonight, right? Well, I was wondering if you would like to go on a double date...with me and Turquoise."

Yellow is glad Blue asked, but also jealous. "I would love to! I'm sure Amber would as well!" Blue grins happily.
"See you then!"

As she waits for the time to pass, she gets a call from Turquoise.
"Hey Blue. Sorry, I've fallen ill and can't go. Don't let me stop you though! Have fun!" She then hangs up and dials an unknown number.

"It's me, Turquoise. Consider our date on."

At the movie theatre, Blue is still upset about Turquoise falling ill. Amber and Yellow chatter away happily, but Blue is in another world entirely.

As they walk in, Blue immediately freezes. She would recognize thar teardrop shaped hair anywhere. But that was only one problem. Her other problem? The gem sitting next to her. A Moonstone, from what Blue could see.

Those snobby upperclass gems. Blue should have known it was too good to be true when Turquoise asked her out.

She turns tail and runs out of the theatre, crying. Yellow gasps and goes after her. Amber grabs her arm to force her to stay.

Amber then goes off to get some refreshments, but she never comes back. When Yellow decides to check on Amber, she finds that she is with another gem, a Topaz.

She runs out of the theatre, following Blue's steps.

She finds herself in the park. She looks around and finds Blue sobbing.

She hugs her gently, no words are needed.

Her heart flutters.

"Hey Blue. I think I found out something."
"What, that higher-up gems are just awful heartbreakers?" Blue replies with a sniffle.

"That and that Amber was just not my type. I realize that we would have never worked in the end. Because I have fallen for someone and my heart will not and can not love anyone else."

Blue is silent as she takes in Yellow's words.

"And that person...is you, Blue."

I wish I had told you sooner.
Then we both would have spared ourselves a heartbreak.
