Facade
"Oh dear..." Yana Circon mumbles, glancing at her watch. She's going to be late if she doesn't hurry up. She darts into her math class seconds before the bell rings. Sitting down, she takes out a notebook, several pencils, calculator and her math book. Just behind her is Bell Circonia. Yana sighs as the teacher begins talking, her hand taking notes along with him.
After class, Yana heads right to her next class. Bell lingers a bit. Bell isn't too worried about school, she'll inherit her family's company. This is just a note to add to her name. Let her have fun, because why not? Her parents had agreed. So this wasn't too important. Bell is just a grey spot in this academy. Nothing about her stands out.
She wears pale blue turtleneck sweaters and jeans. Her blue hair hides her eyes, which are already hidden by glasses. Her grades are nothing special, just average. Yana is her opposite. Popular, social and with stellar grades, she's always busy with something. She wears loose, golden t-shirts and jeans with sequins on them. Her golden hair falls short, just above the shoulder.
After school, both girls are very different. Yana works at a coffee shop on the other side of town. Bell happens to visit often. Yana wears wire-framed glasses and her hair is pulled back in a ponytail. Bell's hair is parted to show her crystal blue eyes, no longer hidden by her glasses as she wears contacts.
Yana often leaves cute little messages on Bell's coffee cups. Bell always laughs about it, finding the action endearing even if it is custom for the workers to sign cups.
One day, Bell notices the handwriting on some of the university papers. To further her suspicions, she notices the small gestures Yana makes. Like adjusting her glasses when she's wearing contacts. Or that small smile she has for no reason and thinks no one is looking.
She soon realizes that Yana and that girl at the coffee shop are the same person. She isn't sure whether or not to tease her about it. But she loves those evenings where no one knows who she is.
"Guys! Yana isn't as cool as she wants us to think! She works a lame job over at that coffee shop on the other side of town!" Whispers spread and pictures are posted online.
Yana panics and runs into the empty auditorium, feeling the tears forming in her eyes. Her sight is blurring, where is she going anyways?
Bell follows her worriedly.
"Please don't quit the job, I'm too used to swinging by there during the evenings."
Yana blinks, confused at what Bell is getting at. Until Bell removes her glasses and parts her hair. With a familiar smile, Yana's eyes widen.
"You sly fox." Is all she can think to say. Bell just hugs her with a short, small chuckle. Yana slowly stops crying, calming down gradually.
The next day, everything is back to normal. The way it should be.
But now, Yana and Bell are together. They have planned to go on a date tomorrow night.
Yana loves teasing Bell, making her flustered. Bell pretends to be annoyed, but she really adores how endearing the golden haired girl can be. From soft whispers to fluttery kisses, each time leaves both falling in love all over again.
"Where have you been all my life?"
"Right next to you."
