The wave appears suddenly, blowing through the area. Leaves are blown away, falling to the ground as they shrivel up and die. The two gems can't escape, they're trapped. 

As the crazed wave closes in on them, Blue throws her arms around Yellow.

Tears are falling fast, there's not much time. Blue shudders as she begins to change. She cries out as sharp spikes begin appearing on her back and her arms. Yellow holds her tight, ignoring the pain she's feeling as well. Her hands clench the fabric of Blue's vest like it's a lifeline.

"I love you I love you, oh stars I'm so sorry..." Blue begins ranting, panicking that she won't have enough time for her to tell Yellow her feelings one more time. One last time.

"I know Blue, and I love you too...hey, it's not your fault...hey Crescent...shhh..." Her voice is broken and rough, the words slowly becoming incoherent. She cries out as the corruption spreads faster.

Honey gold eyes with no shine, cobalt eyes with no emotion. 

Cracked screens, tousled hair.

As Yellow's mouth is suddenly forced shut, she gasps out one final sentence.

"I love you Blue...goodbye and please don't ever forget me..."

And before Blue's voice disappears , she says one more sentence.

"When I'm gone, look for me in the stars and never change." 

The two hold onto each other all the way until both have completely lost their former selves. Then, and only then, they run away from each other.

So they won't hurt each other.
