"Flight number AI344 Mumbai to Hawaii will depart in 20 minutes. All passengers are requested to begin boarding."

That was the final announcement so I hurriedly walked through the hallway and passed the security panel, ignoring the weird glances people gave me. My hair was all over my face and I dragged my luggage in my right hand, while holding my heels in the left one.

My legs ached from wearing my heels because I reached the airport practically running a marathon. Yeah, I forgot to mention the reason behind this marathon. Well, my favourite and only car ditched me when I was about 25 minutes away from the airport. I started running so that I wouldn't miss my flight. It was my once in a lifetime opportunity. I was going to Hawaii for one month. I couldn't afford to miss this.

My cousin, Shanaya, just got married and she was given the chance to enjoy her honeymoon in Hawaii for one whole month. There's a reason behind this extended honeymoon. Her husband, Aditya, had some business in Hawaii which was going to take time away from their honeymoon, so they extended it for one month so they had more time.

I was asked to tag along to accompany my cousin because Aditya wouldn't be with her all the time and our families worried about her being alone in a foreign country. Shanaya and I are very close so it wasn't a problem and we both were happy with the arrangement. Little did she know, I had my own mischievous plans in Hawaii. It would be the first time I was going somewhere without my parents so it was a golden opportunity, and I wanted to take advantage of it.

My mother wasn't happy about me going and she tried her best to convince my father to change his mind because she was worried about me but I managed to win by using some emotional drama.

Aditya offered to pick me up on their way to the airport because my father had some urgent work and wasn't able to drop me off. I declined his offer because I didn't want to be a burden to them. It's their vacation after all. I also decided to give them proper space once we reached Hawaii. I intended to enjoy the vacation on my own.

Then I got stuck here and I immediately regretted my decision. I should have taken his offer to pick me up.

Luckily, I managed to pass all the formalities and made it on time. After showing my boarding pass to the flight attendants, I jumped in my seat and took a breath of relief.

"Where the hell were you? I thought you were going to miss the flight," I heard Shanaya's voice behind me.

"Not at any cost," I grinned and turned around to gave her an evil wink.

She rolled her eyeballs and stumbled back on her seat. "You owe me big for this."

"Of course. I'll pay you back when we land," I winked again.

"Meaning?" Aditya interrupted, removing his dark brown eyes from the laptop he was working on.

"Nothing Jiju, chill. Enjoy your work," I replied, giving a last glance to my cousin, who was trying to hide the smile. I turned back and got comfortable in my seat.

"Okay get some rest," I heard him mumbling.

I shook my head and pulled out my I-pod to listen to some music,closing my eyes so that I could sleep. The flight would take 21 hours to reach Hawaii, pheww! I seriously needed to sleep.

I belong to an upper-middle class family so money wasn't an issue for me. I just graduated from a prestigious university with a degree in law. Since, my grades were pretty decent and my dad was also a lawyer with his own well-established firm, I
was receiving lots of job offers but I wanted to do something different. I wanted to fight for children's rights so I declined the job offers. It was my dream to work for an NGO and social services. I've already applied for a government recognized social service but they haven't replied to me yet so I took this opportunity to take a break and do some mischievous things before I have to settle down with my career.

I planned on enjoying this vacation without any limitations. I was going to be crazy for this short period of my life.

I felt someone poking me in the ribs and opened my eyes, looking around. "Have we landed?"

Shanaya rolled her eyes and said, "No. We still have 14 hours."

My eyes widened. "What? Then why did you wake me up?"

"Because it's lunch time," she shrugged.

"C'mon, I could have eaten later. I was dreaming about my future," I winced.

"Of course dear because we're home, where we could order anytime we want," she replied sarcastically.

"Whatever," I mumbled, grabbing the burger from the tray and starting to eat it. "I need a coke."

"Of course." She rolled her eyes and gave me one. "Now, don't disturb me. I'm going to get some beauty sleep," she added and closed her eyes, leaning on Jiju's shoulder.

I groaned loudly. Great! After disturbing my peaceful sleep, she was going to get her own.

I turned to face Jiju and asked, "Can I watch some movies on your laptop?"

"Sure. My work is almost done," he smiled and gave me the laptop.

I sighed. Watching movies was the best way to pass the time. I opened the folder named "movies" and went through the options. I huffed when I saw most of them were romantic. Well, I wasn't a big fan of romantic movies so I continued to look. Then my eyes stopped on "Final Destination".

Yes! I did a happy dance and clicked on play.

After watching all three parts continuously, my eyes started to feel heavy so I turned off the laptop and closed my eyes, welcoming the darkness.

"C'mon, wake up Sukirti." I heard someone groaning and shaking me.

"Y...yeah," I muttered, trying to open my eyes, "what's wrong?" I rubbed my eyes to see clearly.

I found a pissed off Shanaya placing her hands on her waist. "Seriously? Are you Khumbhkaran or what?"

"Have we landed?" I yawned.

"Thank you Einstein." She shook her head and started walking outside.

"What?" I jumped with excitement, "wait, I am coming." I grabbed my purse and ran after her. "Where is Jiju?" I asked, reaching towards her.

"Making an important phone call. He will meet us at parking area. Now, walk fast. You've already made us late." She glared at me through the corner of her eyes.

"Sorry," I whispered, downcasting my eyes.

She stopped and turned around to face me. "Don't try to do this emotional drama, I know how lazy you are," she chuckled. "Please I don't want my husband to get a bad impression of me because of my stupid and lazy sister." She added in a serious tone.

I rolled my eyes. "Yes Ma'am. Now let's go."

A half an hour later we reached our 3 star hotel near Waikiki beach. My eyes widened and I started jumping with excitement. Because Waikiki beach was not only the most famous beach in Hawaii but also one of the most recognised Oahu beaches and spots in the world.

"I'm looking forward to doing all the activities here," I said, cheerily. "I did my research," I added, throwing a wink in my sister's direction.

"I want to try surfing," she also beamed.

"Sure, we'll try that later. First, you guys need to go and rest," Jiju interrupted our plans.

"What about you?" Shanaya lifted her eyebrow.

"Work time, dear," he sighed. "I have to attend a meeting, right now but I'll catch you at dinner." He shot her an apologetic look.

Shanaya nodded and after kissing her on the forehead, Jiju stepped back inside the car and drove away.

Shanaya turned towards me and said, "I know you're not tired so you can roam around the beach but I'm going to get some rest."

"Really? You're the best sis," I grinned. "I need to change my clothes so let's go inside, first."

She rolled her eyes, "Of course."

We stepped inside and greeted by the receptionist.

"We have the most beautiful view in this area. You can see by yourself,"she explained the beauty of the hotel and pointed out to the window.

I crossed over to open shutters and gazed across the grassy lawn sprinkled with Palm trees and flowering plants to the crowded beach and sparkling ocean beyond.

"Wow, this is amazing," I muttered.

"Yeah, now let's check our room." Shanaya announced and walked towards the elevator.

I followed her into her Master Suite and jumped on the comfy bed. "This is sooo good. I just want to sleep here, right now," I said, snuggling into the pillows.

"Your room has the same kind of bed so why don't you sleep there," she replied sarcastically.

"Aw, are you kicking me out of your room?"

"What do you want?" She crossed her arms, smelling something fishy.

So time for Plan A.

"Well," I started nervously.

"I don't have all day. so spit out whatever you're planning," she stared at me.

I let out a sigh "I don't want to be in the same hotel as you two. I've already booked a room in Honolulu but I need you to convince Jiju why I can't stay here." I said, making a puppy dog face.

She groaned loudly, throwing her hands in the air. "I can't believe this," she shook her head. "I can't support you in this."

"Shanaya," I pleaded, "I've already told you that I plan on travelling on my own here. I don't want to be a third wheel in your vacation. You two need some private time. It's your Honeymoon, dammit," I said furiously.

"But you didn't mention anything about staying at some other place," she placed her hands on her hips, "What else you're hiding?" She added, giving me a suspicious look.

"C'mon don't talk like our non-understanding elders," I rolled my eyes, "I just want to enjoy this once in a lifetime opportunity for me and I want to live it fully. I can't do it in Jiju's presence. It will affect my innocent image," I smirked.

"Which you are not," Shanaya said, clearly amused.

"Obviously and I really don't like people calling me that. I prefer, evil and naughty," I winked and we both burst out in laughter.

After few minutes, when she regained her breath, she looked at me, returning to her serious look, "It sounds very interesting but I still can't leave you alone. God knows what you are planning in your evil mind."

I let out a frustrated sigh, "Oh please! I'm not planning to kill someone. I'm just going to pretend like I'm someone else for a month. I'm going to live a fake life," I said, inhaling a deep breath.

"What?" She shouted so loudly that I had to cover my ears, "Now what is this nonsense? You're going crazy. It's official," she rubbed her temples. "Tell me why I agreed to bring you here?"

"You're forgetting your hostel-time," I raised my eyebrow and she glanced at me.

"I am not. That's why I brought you here. So you could enjoy it but now you're crossing the limits," she said in a firm voice.

"I've planned everything and there's no going back. I want to do this, please Shanaya. You won't regret it. C'mon," I tugged her right arm and started poking.

"No."

"Please?" I started begging,"I won't tell Jiju about your night outs or late-night parties at hostels."

She glared at me,"Don't you dare!"

"Or about Ajay or Manish," I said in a dull tone. That was my Plan-B. I know, it was a bad thing to blackmail someone but she had left no choice for me.

"I'll kill you," she hissed.

"Never, I know you love me too much," I smirked. "And don't worry, I'm just messing with you. I won't spill anything about you, even if you say No," I shrugged, making a sad face.

"Thanks," she sighed. "But you have to promise me one thing?"

My eyes lit up, realizing the success of my plan, "Yeah?"

"You won't do anything forbidden, got it? I don't want to regret my decision," she said in an authoritative tone.

I nodded, "Of course. I just want to have some fun but it doesn't include any kind of physical thing," I assured her.

"And inform me about your whereabouts daily," she added.

"Sure," I said excitedly, "Anything else, ma'am?" I chuckled.

"Yup. One last thing... Convince your Jiju," she said before rushing inside the bathroom, "Good luck."

I winced, putting my head between my palms. I pulled out my hair in frustration and growled loudly. That would be the most difficult part.

Jiju :- Sister's Husband. Full term is Jijaji but now a days we use short form :p

Khumbhkaran :- A giant and Younger Brother of Ravan in the famous Indian epic Ramayana. We have heard that he used to sleep for six months continuously.
