Chapter 97: A Monster Evolves
Corrin awoke to see an amazing sight. A streak of red went across the sky. Peeking around some containers, he saw something out of a Resident Evil game.
He quickly woke up his friend that had been beside him.
Grumbling a little bit about his head, he peeked around the boxes he had been placed behind to see the exact same thing that Corrin was, sans the laser.
"What is that?! Is that... Wester?!"
"I... I think so..." Corrin said, shaking his head in utter disbelief.
"He's a giant Nemesis clone!"
"I guess... we gotta go stop him..." Corrin was a shell of his usual self. For the first time since joining his ninja group, he felt more like a little kid in pajamas than a Shinobi.
Moonie put a hand to his back before he could go forward.
"Dude. If you're not up to this, then I can fight alone."
"No... I can..." Corrin shakily reached for his ninja blades.
"You can make some calls. Get the rest of the Guardians over here." His words were a command. There was no fighting them. "We'll need everyone we can get our hands on. It's not looking good as things are now."
It only required a quick look at the battlefield to understand that this was a losing battle. Even Rachel wasn't getting anything in. The rest weren't even fighting him. They were trying to survive him.
Corrin nodded, his throat suddenly dry.
"Thanks, man. You've protected me up to this point, and it's time that I return the favor!"
With that, he ran off. Getting his phone out (which would have been broken if it weren't for modern technology), he made some shaky calls to the North American branch of the Guardians.

The fight wasn't going well. Even with Moonie over there working the hardest he had ever seen and everyone else here putting in no less effort, little was actually coming of it.
Unbelievably, it would get worse.
"INSIGNIFICANT BUGS. I NEED MORE POWER! MORE POWER!"
Was the thing that bellowed like that actually human at one point?
It pounded the ground, getting down on his hands and knees and grunting, then growling, than roaring in pain.
A nasty squishy sound erupted as the monster formerly known as Wester sprouted wings, claws, and a spiked tail.
Corrin felt sick--and then promptly got sick. Thankfully, he managed to avoid messing up his clothes. You didn't deal with heights as a ninja without knowing how to throw up.
Recovering, and thankful he was off the phone by this point, he heard the monster roar, "WHAT JUST HAPPENED! WHY DO I HAVE WINGS AND A TAIL? ARE THESE CLAWS?!"
"You wanted all that power so badly, and I gave it to you. Call these 'extras' my own personal touch," Fuller said flatly. The voice echoed through the place.
"YOU..." A monstrous chuckle pierced through the hangar. "YOU'VE JUST SEALED YOUR OWN FATE!"
Wester slashed at Fuller, literally taking half of his body off. He didn't move to dodge or anything. He just let it happen.
No blood, gore, or anything was loosed from the slash. The lower half of Fuller instead looked like an unfinished wax figure.
Corrin was suddenly really lightheaded again. Before he could manage to faint again, he watched in abject horror as the body slowly grew back.
"Want to try that again, Wester?" The man who had just died gloated.
He was done. At least he managed not to land in his own vomit, but instead collapsed on the other side of the boxes.
