Untitled Part 1
I hid behind a big, potted plant in my flower shop , listening as the loud sounds came closer. They sounded like mismatched footsteps, every other louder than the other. The plants on the wall shook in their pots. There was a crash as a picture slid off the desk. The floor beneath me rumbled like there was an earthquake. The glass that belonged to the front of my shop shattered and a huge, bulky shape stepped in.
It was a cyborg, only different than the ones that were seen walking down the streets during the day. Its human side was horrific. The eyes were hidden by half a metal mask that was melted into his flesh. The flesh around it hung in long strips, dried blood caking the white skin. A long scratch ran down from his forehead, disappeared under his mask, and went down to the base of his neck.
His mouth opened in a roar, revealing teeth that looked like crumbling tombstones. The tongue was covered in a layer of fungi and appeared to be black, with bits of blood spilled in the center. The sides were full of gashes that looked like they'd been made by his teeth.
The metal side of his face was a little more calming than the human side, though not by much. A metallic, blue eye stared around the dark gloom, looking for me. Gears turned on the side of his head, making his mouth move up and down in a rhythm, filling the air with a small click as the metal lips hit each other again and again.
The cyborg was dressed in black, leather clothing that clung tightly to his skin. A gash in his leg revealed a wound that bubbles blood, the skin around it infected. A small pistol was hanging in one hand while a bloody club was in the other.
He turned and a blue laser light came out of his eye and seemed to scan the room. It stopped at the plant and he reached over and smashed his fist right through the pot.
I screamed and backed up against the wall. His blue eye flashed and turned into a deathly red. A laser shot out and cut a circle in the wall behind me. The bricks fell away into an abyss that was on the other side of my flower shop. The fist reached forwards and grabbed me around my neck.
My eyes studied the sharp points that stuck out of the knuckles, dreading what would happen if they happened to slam into my face. I swung around, screaming in fright. You know how they say that before you die your life flashes before your eyes? Well mine did, literally. My whole life had been spent in the flower shop. When I spun around I noticed every small detail. From the fluorescent lights to the huge potted plants that were knocked on the floor.
The fist squeezed tighter and tighter until I couldn't death anymore. I gasped and suddenly the fist opened, leaving me in mid air. I screamed and the wind whistled past my face and I plunged into the darkness.
The last thing I saw before death was an eye that punctured the gloom and stared right into my soul.
