September, a few weeks later
It's Friday morning and I'm on my way to class when I see a flyer for the swim team. I always love to swim, but I have to take care of Asriel after school when the tryouts are. Sighing, I go into Mr. G's room. I sit in my usual spot behind Sonic. He's not here yet. Rosalina and Zelda come in.
"Where's Sonic?" Zelda asks. I shrug.
"Probably track stuff," Rosalina answers.
"Track stuff?" I ask.
"Sonic is the captain of the track team, the meets are after school but he has to take care of stuff before school." I nod. The bell rings as Sonic runs in.
"Glad you could join us Sonic," Mr. G says as he walks over to his desk. After roll call, Mr. G hands out permission slips.
"We are going to the History museum in a couple of weeks. Please have your parents sign this form and bring in ten dollars to go." He hands one to me and nods at his desk as if to ask to see me after class. I nod back and put it in my backpack. He begins the usual routine of putting on the announcements and lets us go. I go to his desk.
"You wanted to see me sir?" I ask, fidgeting a bit.
"I understand you are the one in charge of taking care of your brother and yourself." I nod. "You have no one to sign the form correct?" Again, I nod and hold back tears. This was always a sensitive subject for me.
"May I see your form?" He asks. I grab it out of my bag and hand it to him. He grabs a pen and signs it. "Just bring in the ten dollars to go Rhion."
"Thank you sir."
"Not at all." I leave to go to Science class, smiling because of my amazing teacher.

Lunch time
We are sitting under a tree. After the first day, we all started sitting under a this tree. Asriel sits on my lap. We're talking about clubs when a guy starts to come over. He has spiky black hair in the style of a Mohawk with red streaks and black cloths.
"I'll take care of it," Sonic says getting up.
"Who's that?" I ask Tails.
"Shadow. He's an... old friend of ours."
"You don't sound pleased," Asriel interrupts.
"It's... complicated." I look over to see the two arguing.
"Rhion, are you interested in any clubs?" Zelda asks pulling me away from the argument.
"Yes, but I can't."
"Why not?" Midna asks.
"I have to take care of this thing." I ruffle Asriel's hair.
"Can't you hire a babysitter?" Rosalina asks. I start to shake.
"I-I just can't." I get up to go to the bathroom. I splash water in my face. I don't trust anyone to watch him after what happened to our parents. The door opens and Mya comes in. She glares at me before going in a stall. I go out back to my friends when I'm punched in the face. My nose is bleeding and I look up to see that boy, Shadow above me.
"What the heck do you think you're doing?" I yell. He smirks.
"Trying to save them from you and your monster brother." I growl.
"He's not a monster."
"Don't think I can't see through his illusion. I'm not going to let you two get away with this." He punches and this time I dodge and get up. "Hmph, persistent." He kicks me in the knee and I fall down.
"SHADOW!" Sonic yells running over. He grabs Shadow by his collar.
"What are you doing? She's-"
"The sister of a monster." Sonic growls and punches his face. "Don't touch either of them or I'll end you." Sonic puts Shadow down. Shadow smirks.
"You'll regret not letting me finish the job." He runs off. Sonic offers his hand.
"You okay?" I nod. "I'll take you to the nurse."
"Won't you get in trouble for punching him?" I ask. Sonic laughs.
"He stated it. Besides, I've never gotten in trouble for a fight." We head to the nurse.
"What happened?" She asks, handing me a ice pack.
"Someone named Shadow punched me."
"Shadow?" She sighs. "He usually doesn't do this kind of thing. Did you tell someone?"
"My friend told the principal." She nods.

"Rhion! Are you okay?" Asriel asks after school.
"I'm fine."
"Don't give me I'm fine! What happened." I sigh.
"Remember the guy that Sonic was arguing at lunch?" He nods. "He picked a fight with me. Really, I'm fine." Asriel makes a pucker face. We walk by GameStop and see the new Pokémon game, Sun and Moon is out.
"Rhion! Can we get it? Please please please?" I laugh.
"Alright, but I get Moon."
"Deal!" Sonic had given both of us a 3Ds after the first week of school. We've been having tons of fun with X and Y so I go to get the games. Rosalina found a job for me at the pizza place she works at so I can make money on the weekends while Asriel waits in one booth with his Ds. I grab the games along with a Popvinal of Sabine and Ezra from Star Wars Rebels for the both of us. When we get home, I immediately put mine in and begin to play.

Later that night
"I found it!" Sonic says through our communicators. Tails made us these to help find the door to the next level.
"Great!" I answer. "Send the map through." I tap a pice of the communicator and a map of the 28th floor shows up. A few dots show up on the map. I look for blue and orange dots where Sonic and Tails would be. Asriel and I are the closest to them.
"On my way!" Midna says and her black dot moves towards the two. We're split up into teams to find the exit to the next floor. Unfortunately, the number of people in the house is odd, so one person is by themselves. That person on this floor is Midna. I begin to lead my brother through. We're the first ones to get to Sonic and Tails, Rosalina and Zelda next, followed by Midna. Sonic nods and we enter. The floor inside begins to move like an elevator, which is what always happens. What never happens is the lights go out and the floor stops, throwing me to the floor.
"Guys, what's going on?" Tails asks panicked.
"Greetings players," a mysterious voice calls from above. Strangely, it's familiar. "You are entering a trial floor. From now on, certain floors will be trials that you each must complete on your own. Some are boss rush design floors, while others are puzzles. Good luck." Light surrounds us and I'm teleported to a safe room. Except I'm alone. Imminently, I panic for my brothers safety.
"Okay," I say to myself, "maybe I can wait it out and we can talk with the others." I notice a paper on the ground. You will not be able to leave the house until all players have cleared the trail. Each of player must find a unique amulet to continue to the next floor.
"Or maybe not." I look at the door leading to the trial. I sigh and run in the trail.
Fun chapter. Yay! Mostly filler but I enjoyed placing Shadow into the mix. Bye!
