Each day a struggle

To feel inner peace

A conflict inside

With no press release

One foot in darkness

The other in light

Soaking up feelings

Colliding with might

Each day a battle

Between hope and gloom

Looking for entry

Into my heart's room

Soul stays on alert

And seeks a clear path

Divert day's darkness

And soak up light's bath

Then try to hold on

Until I can rest

Build up my reserves

For dawn's tangled test
