When Hiccup awoke, he was being carried by a large Monstrous Nightmare. Still dazed, he began to struggle violently, roaring and growling.

"Hey! Hey! Calm down!" The Nightmare looked down.

"Why are you carrying me? What is on my leg?" Hiccup growled, struggling.

"You have broken your leg and I am carrying you to an island where you will be safe. I am Hookfang, and just ignore Snotlout," Explained Hookfang, "or you could just set him on fire. That's fun." At this moment Hookfang set his back on fire just where Snotlout was sitting.

"Aaah!" He screamed, falling off and into the sea. Hookfang laughed, and flew down after him, diving into the ocean just below him and resurfacing with Snotlout on his back.

"Hookfang, you have not heard the end of this!" Snotlout berated. He was so dripping wet that it was quite comical. Hiccup gave a dragon-chuckle. Snotlout was always getting into trouble like that.

Wait, what? How I know that? He thought bemusedly.

After 18 hours of long flying, they landed on a sea-stack to rest, and Hiccup slept near Hookfang.

The next day they finally arrived at Berk, tired and worn out after another 18 hour long flight.

"We're here, get ready to land!" Exclaimed Hookfang. He neatly dropped Hiccup onto some soft earth, and landed nearby.

"I was wondering, why can't you fly?" Asked Hookfang.

"I don't know how to." Explained Hiccup truthfully.

"How can a dragon, a Speeding Death no less, not know how to fly?" Hookfang was genuinely curious.

"I was once a human. I don't know how I got turned into a dragon, but I did."

"HAHAHAHA!" Hookfang roared with laughter. "That's a good one! What next, you can read minds? HAHAHA!" He continued to laugh heartily for the next while, attracting the attention of all the other dragons. If Hiccup could have tapped his foot, he would have.

"Look, I can write Berkian." He said, and scratched 'HICCUP' into the earth. "That's my name."

"Hah, that's just random runes."

Gasps and muttering issued from the Berkians around, and soon a small crowd was gathered around Hiccup's writing.

"He wrote the Dragon Master's name!"

"Should we get the chief?"

"What is this?" Astrid's voice came from the back of the crowd and she pushed to the front. She froze, staring st the words. Hiccup pointed at the words, and then himself to make the point clear.

"Oh my Thor..." Astrid looked thunderstruck. "Unfold his wing!"

Hiccup, understanding, unfolded his wing.

There, spreading across his wing, were the unmistakable lightning patterns.

"H... H... Hic..." Astrid ran to find Valka, leaving the whole village in shock.

Short, but I love to be mean and give you people cliffhangers to get on with! And I couldn't resist this one, what a beauty! Haha. I also still have a bit of an eye infection which tends to water uncontrollably when I look at screens. More coming soon!
