Raven's pov
If you're wondering if I felt any better the next morning, the answer is I didn't. I felt like schist. No,I felt worse than that. Not being able to spar and do experiments was torture. I couldn't even really move that much because my extensive wounds had scabbed over and made me stiff. The broken rib didn't help, even though it would probably be healed within the next week at most. My wing would take even less time. Yet I was going to be stuck in here for two weeks.
I have a high pain threshold, but even I had to admit it hurt. Not that I admitted it out loud. On top of everything else,I was actually tired because of the whole healing thing. The Apollo kids had constantly nagged me to try to get me to eat until I finally snapped and asked them for O+ blood, fresh, just to freak them out. Will knew I didn't mean it though. On top of that, I can't even really watch TV because I'm blind. I could, however, post on my blog. I memorized the layout of the keyboard a long time ago so I could type.
"Nico," I called." Can you get my computer?" He stayed the entire night, and the only reason he had left for a bit this morning was to show Belinda around the camp. She had been discharged this morning.
"Sure," the son of Hades replied. After he gave me my computer,I heard him sit down in the chair next to my bed. It was nice of him to stay.
Before I opened my blog,I logged into Wattpad. Even though I'm blind,I had enchanted my computer to translate the words into braille and display the bumps through the screen so I could read like that. I read a few chapters of a Malec fanfic, noting the accuracy of the portrayal of Magnus' personality, before going back to my blog.
Hello readers. Sorry I didn't update yesterday, but as you know, the life of demigod is dangerous. According to the Apollo kids and my friends,I nearly got sliced to shreds and I look awful. Not the first time I've heard that. As you know,I can't see to check if they're exaggerating again or not. For those of you new to this blog,I'm blind because of a forced surgery,I can only type because I memorized the keyboard layout.
Well, two days ago I came back up from the underworld because of Nico's bribing and pleading, and Chiron immediately put me on a mission to pick up two demigods with Hae-Joon and Percy. I think that he's trying to recreate Team Omega,as people used to call the three of us. They called us that because we were the last people you would think could work together successfully. Those days are long gone.
Back to the mission. We found the demigods,I got to fight some dracenae, and one of the newbies got bitten by a chimera. That's why I'm stuck in the infirmary, I got mauled by said chimera while trying to protect the newbies.
There is some good news though. The girl is a daughter of Hades, and I can sense that the boy is a son of Zeus. Two new cousins for me. And guess what. The girl's name is Belinda Di Angelo. She is Nico's hidden sister, and she remembers me from her childhood in Italy.
The kid thought I was her brother's girlfriend. I'm still not sure how I feel about that.
Anyways,Will Solace and his siblings are driving me crazy because they keep trying to get me to eat. They backed off after I asked for blood. Only Will could tell that I wasn't being serious, and even he wasn't completely sure. He asked me later if I had actually been serious. I wasn't.
That's pretty much it for now. Oh, Ariel called. It's getting really annoying. But anyways, peace out,I guess.
-Raven,daughter of Poseidon
Chiron had given me permission to reveal our world to the mortals. It was about time.
Will came in. I already knew what he was going to ask. "No."
"But-"
"No."
Nico sighed. "If I ate a normal meal, would you too?"
"Sure."
Both of the boys were shocked. Will's eyebrows had shot up towards his hairline. Neither one had expected me to give in so easily, but Nico, unlike me, needed to eat regularly, and if this was how I got him to do so,so be it. Most vampires need to eat regularly too,but I was used to going without food when I was young,so that kind of messed up my eating habits for the rest of my life. "Okay then," Will said, still stunned. "What do you want?"
"Pizza." That was Nico. I had still never tasted pizza myself,so I asked for the same thing. That shocked Will further. I could see it in his thoughts. Yes,I read minds. Don't even think about making a joke about me being Edward Cullen reborn. I'm older than Edward. And just for the record,I don't sparkle either. I'm fairly sure that someone would've noticed by now if I did.
The pizza was actually pretty good. Then guess who came in. Surprise, surprise! It was my ridiculously overprotective brother. When he saw that Nico and I were alone in the room together,he scowled. His expression softened though when he saw that I was eating.
"Raven,about that phone call yesterday-"
I interrupted Percy by shoving a piece of paper in his general direction. It didn't work all that well since my arm was so stiff. At least I could still move my fingers. "Ask me questions at the meeting. The information is on the paper."
"O-okay," Percy stuttered. Then I remembered what I had thought during the mission.
"Hey Perce?" He turned back around.
"Yeah?"
"I'll take you up on that offer of family bonding night."
A huge smile split his face. "Really?" I nodded to the best of my ability in my current state. "I'll get everything ready for when you're discharged!"
And he ran out, just like that. Nico looked at me intently. "What made you change your mind?"he asked.
I was still staring at the door that Percy had just run through. "I......I don't know."
The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. I spent pretty much the rest of my time in my mind palace, wandering the corridors of the Di Angelo wing, searching for the secrets of a long lost past.
Nico's pov
Raven actually slept for the second night in a row. That's how I knew just how serious the situation was. I mean, it had been bad to begin with, but if Raven was sleeping again, then the healing must really be draining her powers and energy. For her to risk sleep...
I knew why Raven didn't sleep when she could help it. It wasn't just because she was used to it,although that could be part of it,it was because of the nightmares. There were many wandering ghosts of her past that haunted Raven, and in a way,she herself was one of them. And so she avoided sleep because it put off the nightmares. But they were inevitable. Sooner or later,Raven would have to face the darkest remnants of her past and future. And I watched as she did just that tonight.
