Chapter 2
The door slammed, waking Castiel up. His heart jumped and his eyes opened quickly, then the bright sun gleaming through the window caused him to shut them tightly. The air was cold on his face, but the rest of him was warm thanks to the blanket he didn't remember grabbing. It took a while for him to realize where he was. He was still in Dean Winchester's house, he didn't remember falling asleep. Dean sat on the couch across from Castiel and took off his shoes.
"Morinin' blue eyes, I hope you like breakfast burrito's cuz that's what I bought."
"I fell asleep here? Why didn't you wake me up? I could have gone to the hotel."
Dean handed a burrito to Castiel, "You looked too comfortable plus I was gonna be late for work, so I figured I should let you sleep.", Dean crumpled his trash and threw it into the trash can.
Castiel took a bite of the burrito, it took him a minute to process his thoughts, his brain was slow because he just woke up. "So you just let a stranger, that you barely know the name of, sleep on your couch while your gone at work?"
"Well if you're gonna be living here, you can't be a stranger... and is what you're wearing all you have or do you have stuff in your car?
Castiel was shocked he couldn't really talk, "I-I have stuff in my car," he stared and Dean and squinted a little bit, "so you're not gonna ask questions about me to make sure I'm not a killer or anything?"
"One, why would you tell me if you were a killer, two, how can someone that holds the whole universe in their eyes be a killer? and three, rents due in a week." He stared at Castiel with his eyes wide, it was quiet, Dean assumed Castiel didn't know what to say. "So you want me to help you with your stuff?
Castiel nodded as he stood up to throw away his trash, he opened the door and dean followed. The words just kept replaying in Castiel's head "someone that holds the whole universe in their eyes". He smiled to himself as he opened the door and popped the trunk, "Thank you so much for this, it really means alot to me, I can't thank you enough."
"Well I was thinking about it and it would really help out, and I think I know a way you can thank me if you're picking up what I'm layin down" he winked the grabbed a box out of the trunk.
Castiel could feel his face turning red, he just looked at Dean with a questioning look.
Dean stopped smiling and looked at him, "Chill, I was only kidding." He laughed a little then walked into the house.
Castiel forced a laugh, he was relieved, but at the same time he was disappointed. He grabbed a box and followed Dean down the hall to a bedroom, It was empty except for a bed, dresser and nightstand. He set the box down and looked around.
"Sorry it's so empty, it was my little brothers room before he left for college, he kinda took everything with him." Dean stared at the room and Castiel was beginning to feel uncomfortable, so he went to get more stuff out of the car, which didn't take to long, because he didn't really have much.
When he was done, Dean gave him a tour of the house. The house was pretty empty, he could tell that Dean didn't have a lot of extra money for decorations. The kitchen was a good size, it had a table and an island. The cupboards were bare and the fridge was empty, he knew he would need to fix that asap. He had Dean give his car a jump so he could go get job applications. Dean had to go to work so he gave Castiel his only key.
After Castiel had gone to just about every place that was hiring, and some that weren't, he decided the house needed some food. He went to the nearest store to the house because he feared getting lost in the mountain town. He hoped he could get at least one decent paying job, he had enough money for three months rent and grocery shopping, but he knew it wouldn't last that long.
