chapter eight
January 1997
Dear Cas
I ran into Molly today.
That little girl at our apartment.
Of course, she's not so little any more.
We talked for a while, she's hoping to be a mechanic, but she wants to try racing.
The world has changed so much for her to even consider that.
I offered her a lesson.
She said yes.
We had the lesson on Thursday. She enjoyed it, but said no to another one.
She asked about you, but guessed from my face and left.
She was only young at the time, but she remembers you.
At least, even after I die, people will remember you.
At least you'll have that.
